QOTD: Rayquaza. The thing lived up to its status in the regular games but now its a shadow of itself. Worst thing is it was a paid event to get Dragon Ascent to make him viable only for Niantic to shoot him down. AND they introduced Scald buff same season replacing a debuff you could plan against vs a hard hitting move where luck could change a game
QOTD: Breaking Swipe Sceptile. My favorite Grass type finally got a meaningful buff in Breaking Swipe, but unfortunately got it at the same time as Steelix who had to be a dickhead and ruin everyone else's fun
QOTD: EQ was a really bad nerf (all because of Zygarde complete) to shadow gliscor. The EQ damage now is essentially the same as it was back then for a normal gliscor but you still have the lower defence due to being shadow p.s: I was in the process of builiding an XL Ultra League Alomomola for fun but the psychic nerf ruined my plans
I bet it get icy Wind next season (would be a Niantic move) I bet in 2-3 seasons we have a scald clone for every type just to annoy everyone with 50% debuffs
I was cheated out of 3 wins for a 5-0 set because of getting that glitch 3 times in a row as I was farming down the opponents last 1 HP mon. Very frustrating bug
Qotd: Shadow Quagman, not because its got nerfed directly but because Whiscash does what Quag did, but better. So mine is back to Stone Edge, nuking the occasional Talonflame
Didn't even get a single one with CP that can enter the great league while I tried with two accounts. How hard is it to just give us lower lvls so everyone can use it?
QOTD: I don't think any of the pokemon I really like have been nerfed. I like Trevenent a lot but I never even used it until after it was nerfed. Same with Walrien.
Qotd: Not directly nerfed but indirect Alolan Marowak, since „every“ Pokémon has mud bomb and a lot has water moves it is not as useful as it was. I m tired of GBL, dropped my fights this season down to ~600fights… it not a fun to play anymore… it’s right now only play mid till end season for rank asap and leave (maybe take 3-4x stardust event, and Elite TMs(but missed 500wins anyway)) It is what it is… Im bored of built and switch moves around every season again and again 10-20tms just the tm system wants to… and if you have time the cup is bad or you always face the same 8 Pokémon over and over. My experience is that I top left or my opponent top left… you have 10+ fights which are honestly done before the battle start and maybe 2-3/day which are back/forth fun. Sure you can catch and count attacks the whole season but I’m tired and still reach legend with maybe 1Week counting(not because I’m so good, because my team killed the meta over 2-3days)
While watching this video I ended up getting the weird lag cutoff and got a loss. Was an easy win for me with alignment, I was even up shields while they didn't have any and just needed to throw a move. I threw a return on my Sableye against a Pelipper (no shields and 40%) and I only did about 20% on an excellent. Shocked, I got to my dark pulse and fired it off. Only for it to get stuck on the charging screen and never reconnecting. Only to get the "Failed to recover previous match results" and I got a loss. Despite having a shield, two health mons and opponent was only 1 charge attack away and I threw 2. Guessing it's just very laggy at the moment with the Sinnoh tour. Not going to risk getting my sets in before midnight (soon) with the tour still on in America.
Not that it was my favourite, but I have had a lot of luck getting all sorts of Noctowl IVs and was getting ready to learn to use it properly to build a climbing team with it, and then then nerfed Sky Attack and took it out of the meta 😔
Well it wasn’t my favorite to run but I caught a hoot hoot that evolve into a rank 1 noctowl GL at my home and I then wasted a week setting it up because I rarely play as it is or go out. The following season they nerfed sky attack.
I’ve had that freeze bug where i was about to win then I was frozen for the next 10 minutes so I restarted the app and it gave me the loss, I wasn’t in a party
This is so annoying as someone who is still chasing expert I personally had 3 freezes and one complete game crash in absolute dominant matchups. I had 3 4-1 sets in a row which led to an 0-5 because they all occurred in the same set an absolutely destroyed my Elo. I was able to finish with a 4-1 so overall good day but man the 0-5 killed me due to the game instead of game play! 😤
QOTD: I will complain about this for the 100th time. I built a rank 1 Haxorus for the GBL and it wasnt supper meta, but it got me a lot of decent wins, and then niantic gave Steelix breaking swipe.....and we all know how it goes from there.
QOTD: Meganium. It was never a top tier pick, but I appreciated its dual grass/ground coverage, offered from EQ, which could hit reasonably hard (even considering it’s a bulky pokemon). Unless some other grass types, it felt like it could easily wall a lot of the energy coming from opposing grass-weak pokemon (unlike say, a Trevenant or a shadow Venusaur, which I’ve used a lot). For the final mail in the coffin, grass counters are especially strong nowadays, so it has no place in the meta at all.
Yeah I know the coverage has a lot of holes (that’s why it was never top tier meta), but it was useful to have in certain situations-like against steels, fires, and poisons, which grass moves usually struggle to heavily damage/threaten. It gave it a very unique feel, even if it is easily walled by fliers, bugs (pure bugs, at least, which are very few), and opposing grasses.
Pure grass is poor, I’d agree (again, why it wasn’t top tier meta, despite its amazing bulk and moveset). The stats though made it amazing in neutral scenarios or in situations you want a grass to do well in, much like how you’d rather have a Serperior against an Azumarill than say, a Shadow Venu (ice beam seriously hurts it)
@@CallumOnToast Yeah. I made a bunch of level one accounts and used the referal system to get green passes. I guess Niantic knew I was cheating so they gave me 2 1501 cp heatrans 🤷
