Es tremendo, impresionante la voz de Ritter es sobrenatural!! Igual que el sonido Ted uno de los mejores bateristas de la historia!! Tourniquet was absolutely equal to the other big bands of their era - Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Anthrax. If they hadn't been Christians they would have been commercially gigantic. Try another Tourniquet song: A Dog's Breakfast. th-cam.com/video/_DDA3Vk8-Bs/w-d-xo.html

Thank you so much T! This really made my day seeing you just enjoy this! :D Yeah this band has been around since 1990, and they are still making albums to this day. They just released a new album last July. I cant wait for April. I think its time for some more 80s Pantera for you to check out! :)
My dad introduced me to them when i was just a kid. Another good song by them is acid head when they were in their (what my father and i call) “circus metal” phase. They’re still my favorite Christian metal band. He also introduced me to the band deliverance, who have a good one “weapons of our warfare” as well as “belltown”
Somnambulism, Pushing Broom, and Convoluted Absolutes are some unique Tourniquet songs I enjoy from 3 different albums. Sometimes slowing it down just a tad can feel heavier than going 100mph. My favorite 2 Christian metal songs currently are "Awake" by Sardonyx and "Wisdom Calls" by Veni Domine.
Tourniquet are so danged proficient. Guy Ritters vocals definitely follow in line with King Diamond. I prefer their songs that blend Ritter and Gary Lenaire’s vocals. Ark of Suffering is a great song. Another one of my favorite Christian metal bands is Mortification. Check out their song Nocturnal.
I hope my comment makes it, my phone is tripping T but this is awesome.gtrat reaction my friend ❤️☮️. Good music love it. Iv never heard of them either glad I got to.
One of the most technical bands, and made so many albums. But I know almost no one that has heard of them. I think I listened them after this album, because I don't remember this high pitch vocals later on. In later albums I had, the singer sounds more like Metallica.
@@jeffmurphy1886 Yeah man. I'm not religious in any way, shape, or form but I had a mate in highschool in the 80's and 90s that was into these guys and loaned me his cd's. They are badass. I'm also against animal cruelty which is what Ark of Suffering is about.
Great review! Tourniquet is a fantastic band. The late Ted Kirkpatrick was a true musician on the drums! Cant wait to you review more Tourniquet, try some Believer.
I've been a fan of Tourniquet for 30+ years. I even had the opportunity to share the stage with them once when my band opened for them. Great stuff. You also might want to check out the band FLOOD. The album is called Polarized. It has former Tourniquet members, including the vocalist you hear on Stop the Bleeding.
Mahalo for this. Unfortunately we lost Ted almost a year and a half ago, and that officially brought Tourniquet to its closing chapter. He was a musical genius (though this song was written by the guitarist Gary Lenaire and singer Guy Ritter (who could also play the drums and guitar).Ted wrote four of the 10 songs on this stellar debut album, which is just unheard of from a drummer of a metal band, or any genre of band. Amazing talent.
Cool reaction. I really like how you get into the songs you react to. It shows your love for the genre. I would suggest you listen to the song "The beauty of brutal justice", by the same band. Tourniquet is legendary, I saw them live here in Sweden summer of 2019.
Singer Guy Ritter was heavily influenced by Michael Sweet of Stryper reason for the high note singing. Sounds like King Diamond but the next album Ted wanted heavier volcals which was a huge improvement for the overall sound that really launched Tourniquet in modern heavy metal.
Tourniquet. Good stuff. They really made waves when they hit the scene in 1990-91. And they only got better as time wore on. Changing a bit with _Vanishing Lessons_ (which is actually my favorite album of theirs). If you like Tourniquet's technical speed / thrash, also check out Believer and their first three albums _Extraction From Mortality_ , _Sanity Obscure_ , and _Dimensions_ By the time time _Dimensions_ came about they had a full time soprano and cellist in the touring band. Hey TNT! Thanks for the Reaction vid for Tourniquet \m/ Ive been a fan since around 1992! You've got to do "Healing Waters of the Tigris" off of their Where Moth and Rust Destroy album! It's KICKS & you will love the breakdown of the song where there are dueling guitar solos reminiscent of Pink Floyd on steroids!

They're good as a band, and I appreciate that this kind of metal opened the genre up to those that were either afraid of metal or told it was wrong... but... it's always been weird to me that in the 80's, Christians were burning metal records (like they did with rock records in the 50s and 60s), calling it the devil's music, saying it was a satanic recruitment tool (just like Dungeons and Dragons), having "demetalizing classes" where they tried to "deprogram" metalheads... then there was the suing of Judas Priest for "backmasking" satanic messages.... even making Rob Halford sing in court (watch that clip.. it's stupefying how pointless that was). Then toward the end of the 80s, someone decided by adding the word "Jesus" to metal riffs... it made it all ok. Wow, really.. that's all it took, eh? Sprinkle a li'l Jesus on it and it's no longer bad. Mmkay, sure.
Christian was around in 70s. The church hated them. Wolves in sheep clothing. I would go to the record burnings to swipe albums. They really liked burning Iron Maiden records
You may not be aware of this, but hard rock and metal Christian bands were actually not quickly accepted - it took DECADES of sacrifice by musicians who loved this genre and could easily have had much more success playing in secular bands to bring about the change in culture that won them acceptance - and even nowadays it is not universal. Also, you need to read the lyrics from some of the better bands - they were often very deep and insightful and carefully constructed and are a far cry from the sprinkling of Jesus you are talking about. One of my favorite Christian metal bands is Theocracy - you go read those lyrics and you'll realize there is a whole lot more going on there than sprinkling in Jesus.
Probably the only rock band to be hated by the genre you loved and the church at the same time. I truly believe their continued success and health is due to their persistence through the persecution.
