Love this song, my favourite part is Rei and Gaeul's rap section over the I will survive sample!!
It's interesting that almost no reactor could recognize Gloria's song. I mean, i'm saying it with no offense, but i'm from EU and that song was on radio and MTV all the time. That song was just too popular in my region to forget it, so i'm glad Starship sampled it and use it for IVE's title track! :) Thank you for the reaction :)
We in the UK instantly knows this song because it was constantly on the radio throughout the 80's.
@@Aatish2k8 Same! I'm a '92 liner but even me instantly recognized it, even if i've read it in the comments that the sample is from Gloria's song. I'm sure i've heard it on radio or more from my parents! I grew up on 70's and 80's songs, and maybe that's why i really love Retro songs :)
I think a lot of people know the song but it was really hard to remember exactly what song it was- especially bc the sample used is pure instrumental both here and in the original song. We often remember better by lyrics.

I think they will get the girl group rookie of the year award, and fully deserved tbh!
Tbh I don't think they fully deserve it. If there are girlgroups who deserve it it would rather be BILLLIE and PIXY with their music coming from the future and their out-of-space concepts, PURPLE KISS ain't bad too when you know they partake in the writing and producing of their songs, and probably some other groups that I'm not aware of. Now don't get me wrong, I love IVE. I'm a WIZ*ONE so I came to learn about and love them from the very first teasers. But as a group who doesn’t partake in producing, have only 6 songs after 9 months of debut and who have few impressive choreos (as a girlgroup), I don't think they "fully" deserved it. Tho I think they have really good music, idk if there's an award for B-sides but to me "Royal" fully deserves to be B-side of the year.

I think we can agree that both "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" and "I Will Survive" are iconic. This is my favorite song from IVE too. I loved how they incorporated the part of Gloria Gaynor's disco anthem.
Love the song, its awesome. Also there are behind the scenes video showing they DID dance with the fireworks really going off behind them.

Another reactor talked about how that song doesn’t match the story of “After Like,” and I completely agree because, well, it doesn’t. But interestingly enough, the actual story behind the writing of “I Will Survive” isn’t about a relationship either soooooo 🤷♀️

The sample was pretty short, not the most important part imo... it did fit well tho

HATE the sample (love the original tough), but the rest of the song is very good. Eleven was fine, and Love Dive felt so structurally lazy it irritates me. It had it all to be a great song.
