Was totally surprised and delighted to see you and Austin fishing together. Have been watching you both for a good while. He has some good water there.
Definitely recommend cutting out the plastic well in the front hatch of your Shoalie, it gives you a lot more storage space inside the boat. Plus you can store up to 9ft spinning rods in it when you open it up. That’s where most of my camping gear and a couple longer rods go when I’m doing overnighters.
Wind noise is authenticity. Since it is an amazing day, of course I can't go out. Thank you for the view today. Also, for your daily dose of humor, in you copious amounts of spare time on my channel "teaching a grown man to fish" is hysterical
I can tell you guys are gonna have a lot of fun fishing together and getting to know each other more from watching his videos you both are a lot alike especially when it comes to fishing for catfish lol
@@jakejohnson9533 Yeh, figured from the soil color, but couldn't help not being a smart alec. Won't ask for specifics. I did fish below Morales in the early eighties.... DON'T go there.
I’m always glad that I took the time to watch one of your videos. Another good fishy watch ty. My fave of this one is the Buffalo! I’m a fan of these native fish. A bucket list item of mine is to catch a huge albino one. This way anytime someone approaches me when I’m fishing I can say I’m hunting the great white Buffalo. I crack me up. But I do love Buffaloes. Under appreciated field of endeavor. My other kind of odd ball fan boi fish is the yellow and brown bullheads we have here in Washington state. They only run a couple pounds but on two pound line it’s pretty fun. Can’t wait for the next one viejo. Take care of yourself, drink until you pee.
Oh btw I thought you might be interested in the mfr website they’re blowing out certain nice bait-casters. CI-354LXa $88 CI-273LXa $68 I’m gonna pick up one of each. Catch a giant buddy.
The New Kayak looks sweet. Are you using diff Rods and Reels or maybe testing out some that you Custom built just for yourself.Good luck on the Big Uglies this year, cant wait to see what u guys catch this season.
Idk if you ever considered trying to snag sooonbill/paddlefish in northeastern Oklahoma. Prehistoric fish that’s lots of fun, big fish and fun trying to land. Fish on!
@@RiverCertified I have family in Muskogee, I live around low water dam. Spoonbill are starting to pop up around here, maybe you should take somebody that doesn’t know anything about that fish and let them take a nice gander on it. Crazy that they don’t have much bones if any other than their head!!
Im thoroughly intrigued about his new rods that he built. i would love to hear more about those and how he did it. maybe in a one off video or something.
Man I want to get out on my kayak again so bad. Problem is, we're going to have 11-45mph winds for the next week or so. I couldn't even do anything this past weekend because of it. Frickin sucks.
@RiverCertified well shoot, if you get to pick, spice it up a bit. Medium rare ultra tonka fish face poking...weight. That sounds good in my head, hah!
Like the river and I have to believe kayaking was the best way to go, looks too woody for the power boat..idk. Couple of eating size and couple of biggies. You said couple of times there was lots of gar in there...any alligator gar? Something about alligator gar makes me think "gamefish" and not just "trash fish", ya know? And if there's an uglier fish than a buffalo I don't really want to see it. Poor ugly misunderstood buffalo!! Lol. Cool video bro. Sound wasn't that big of a deal.👍
I don't think there's any boat ramps on that river either. Probably a gravel bar somewhere you could launch. I'm an alligator fan. As far as the buffs go, I think there's definitely uglier fish. I'd say the coelocanthe is probably uglier.
@@RiverCertified thank you. What poundage are the original rods? The whisker seekers I saw online were rated 10-50pounds. I've been scouring Internet sites trying to find medium action rod blanks like that so I was wondering what were the rod stats you finally settled on? I like 7'6" to 8' rod blanks as well! It was a ton of fun to fish with you Spencer. Glad you could come down and fish my neck of the woods! Come again any time!

The audio wasn't so bad. I mean when you have wind, you will have sound issues. Some very nice blue cats! Very enjoyable video.
Spencer it's that time of the year!!!! GO CUBS GO!!!!
Awesome to see you back out in a kayak. Had mine out the other day and caught 4 nice channels. No flatheads yet this year though.
I hope to be out in mine a bunch. Hopefully Mother Nature plays nice this year.

Went river camping this past weekend caught two small flats and a solid 20s blue cat
There's always that one fish on the trip that makes us look like a derelict 😂
Truer words have never been spoken haha

If you’re ever coming through Oklahoma, I’ve got a few river spots we can hit up!
I had a 17 inch smallmouth bass tow my kayak last weekend. I can't imagine the sleighride those blue cats would give.

I guess I'm not scared to take a risk of not catching anything. Plus I've been traveling to places like this long before I ever made videos.
New to the channel and have been learning how to catch flathead :)
