Great video. Spencer’s commentary is top notch and I think it is one of the things that makes his videos so engaging. When he goes quiet after missing a fish you know he’s using every ounce of self restraint to maintain his PG rating.
The Mighty Mo! Love spending 2 to 3 days on the Missouri River at a time hitting different wing Dykes, shoots, and sand bars. The largest fish I’ve caught is a 54+ inch flat head that was probably 80 pounds. I didn’t have a tape measure or get it weighed but I do have pics and video of me walking it off. It was longer than four of my boots which measure 13 1/2 inches heel to toe. But the coolest thing I’ve ever caught out of the Missouri would probably have to be the albino carp I just caught a couple weeks ago. Keep up the good videos!
So I wanted to give you a huge thank you. I found your channel earlier this year and it inspired me to catch a big flathead. Id usually just fish for channels with shrimp or even stink bait back in the day. I caught a lot of big channels this year but not any flatheads. Well yesterday I took my kayak out and was able to hook into 4 good flatheads using cut bluegill on a high/low rig within an hour and a half of eachother. Largest was 30# and the smallest was 16#. Best day of fishing I ever had and I have you to thank for it. Now to get a 50 😁.
To anyone that likes using earthworms,here’s a great secret. Duck intestines work excellent in the place of earthworms, and they can be used over and over because they don’t tear up like worms(can catch up to 5 or more fish easy before changing bait). Learned this from duck hunting when I was younger,and we would mop up on the bream and catfish with duck guts after cleaning our bag. They’re like a lollipop that can’t be finished,and it’s nice not having to keep putting bait on after every catch. Good luck and peace.

Also I don't know how those rigs broke, or how they were tied. But I've noticed with some of these catfish hooks if you use a drop loop or snell, there's defects on the hook eyes where the loop or line sits and there's sometimes a barb or sharp cut at the bend. I've noticed this on many brands.
I'm about to move from central illinois to somerset Kentucky, and that's just upstream from Kingston and watts bar..very nervous for this big move for my family but I am so excited to hit the rivers. Love the videos Spencer!

It's cool you put Old Bay on potatoes , it's good on a lot more than crabs or crayfish . Like potato, macaroni, egg salads scrambled or deviled eggs is a must

Mooneye is the bait you cut on the bobber rig .... Never heard of golden eye for bait before just saying Spencer always hopefully to see you caught a giant catfish fr 💯!!!! Need to come down here were I live Spencer definitely have some good spots for us to try out for big flathead and monster blue catfish in the 80 lbs plus catalogue I apologize if I missed that wrong 😂😆😂

I definitely feel more pressure fishing with others to figure something out and don't experiment as much. With that said some of my best friends I found were through fishing. You got a great channel come hit Powerton again this winter or give the Illinois river a chance it's cool lol.

Hmmm guess doesn't matter in the end, and hey whatever those were are still swimming around in that river! Cool campsite and you definitely made Bear Grylls and Les Stroud proud with the whole solo act. Liked it man as usual.👍✌️
I prefer to eat the 5-15 lbers. They're more plentiful, taste really good, and don't carry as many pollutants in their system as the larger and older fish. That's my thought process on it anyway.
Hey Spence! Great to see you back in your old stomping ground. Shame about all those missed fish, though... Perhaps you might try and learn a little from your Spanish trip and use the "hair rig" that was so successful out there. That way you will have a far better chance of hooking your bites. Think about it!!! 🎣🤓🎣
