It's true, the police can be easily involved. In Fact they are involved in a lot of kidnappings and extortions. My friend was once kidnapped by the cops, but the funny thing was that my friend was an ex-police himself. So he called his ex-superior, the man came and got them all fired. But imagine the kidnappings they do to regular people who have no connections.

Unfortunately, in third / four world countries like Vzla and Mexico, the Police force is not educated. Chances are most cops are dropouts from high school and live in poverty that can continue for generations. They get involved in drug trafficking, kidnapping, etc. Corrupt governments generate this tragical issue. Vzla is one of the WORST in Latin America where this problem has persisted for more than 20 years due to the MADURO's narco-regime...

This is actually really common in Mexico. When I was a kid I went to Mexico to visit family. Some cousins and I went swimming and some hours later we went back home. My whole family was crying because they were receiving phone calls saying that they had my cousins and me. So everyone was relieved to see us. The creepy thing was they had recordings of us talking and that why my family believed them. This happened a few years later to another cousin of mine. Almost exact same story

Canelo would be smart enough not to do anything. Bc he knows how criminal organizations work in Mexico. They never intended to hurt his brother but everyone in Mexico knows canelo is arguably the highest paid athlete in the world. They knew damn well they could make fast money off him. And canelo understood that, thats why he paid the ransom and simply let it go. Killing or harming the brother of one the most popular athletes in the world would’ve brought A LOT of unwanted heat towards these criminal organizations and unfortunately due to corruption these organizations can pull these scams off without the govt getting in their way.

They did it to canelo specifically bc they knew he wouldn’t hesitate to pay the ransom bc they know he got $$ like that. But trust me canelo wouldn’t do shit to them. His popularity as an athlete holds no power over them you sound like a clown and these cartels generate BILLIONS a year canelo has nowhere near the money to have the power they do. If rhey really wanted to they’ll sweep canelo entire family and canelo himself and chop his head off but like i said this is ORGANIZED crime, they’re aren’t morons they were NEVER gonna harm anyone related to canelo bc that would draw massive unwanted media attention and unnecessary heat from the govt.
