    I love how you showed from 1977 up to 2000 Camaros and trans ams. That’s all I’ve driven since I was 15. I moved up to only corvettes from 2004 to present. ❤

    The 2 Camaro showcase cars are rare as hell being totally bare bone 4 cyl 4 speed manual, dog dish hubcaps.

    Gosh, loving these 1970s cars especially! Though the '74 Camaro LT is beautiful, I like Antria Ford even more! And Dennis James was a superb MC.....he seemed to have more genuine charisma than Bob Barker, and didn't treat the contestants with contempt. But perhaps even topping all of them was the late great Johnny Olson! He announces with true style, and always had a great sense of humor, especially participating with the models in the showcase. Although I am with James Garner and didn't care too much for the '79 Trans Am / Firebird facelift, the "That's Entertainment" salute to Sally Field showdown is classic!

      😂 Lol, yep...Pontiac got its revenge on Chevy with the old Iron Duke after Chevy and GM conspired to abolish the vastly superior Pontiac V8 in the late '70s and force the division to use Chevy engines from that point on. 🤮
      I actually remember that episode with the first TA. 😸👍

      I actually owned one that looked exactly like this one. It was actually pretty peppy, not fast but had good excelleration. Then the oil pump went and the engine seized. 😆 that also happened quickly.

    This is great! Glad to see you have Corvettes and Mustangs coming. Here are some other ideas I have:
    Ford Thunderbird/Mercury Cougar
    Geo (Metro, Prizm, Storm, Tracker)
    Eagle (Talon, Vision, Summit, etc.)
    Ford Escort/Mercury Tracer
    Ford Tempo/Mercury Topaz
    Saturn
    Some of these may be boring, but some people would feel nostalgia for these cars.

    • @carsnstuff1344
      @carsnstuff1344  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I considered a TBird/Cougar montage but they were pretty common during the 90s and I haven't had the wherewithal to save those episodes for easy compilation. The Escort/Tracer idea is almost unnecessary as they offered one in almost every episode during the 90s. Kind of a "filler" car for the show.

    • @carexpertandy
      @carexpertandy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@carsnstuff1344 Yeah the Escort/Tracer compilation probably isn’t worth, especially if you can find many full episodes posted with them. Same thing for Cavaliers and Neons I’m sure. Do you know if they ever offered Oldsmobiles on the show? I can’t recall any when I watched the show from the late 90s to early 2000s.

    As the owner of a 2019 Camaro SS 6 speed, and having loved the Camaro my whole life, it's so cool to see this video! What a lot of people my age and a little younger might not remember, is that where this video starts is right at the beginning of the Malaise era. Where muscle cars had been castrated from all serious performance due to emission and fuel economy regulations brought on by the EPA and CAFE standards of 1973. Before that, the Camaro could be an absolute beast if equipped with anything of the 350 engine or larger, and you could go all the way up to a 427.
    So we get to see the progression and resurgence of the Camaro after CAFE brought cars down to truly disappointing levels. By the time we get to that 1991 Z28 with the 350 at 10:50 performance had come back to pre-1973 levels due to multi-port fuel injection and much better computers that could help big, powerful engines produce horsepower while being much better on fuel and emissions. Technologies that were unheard of just a few years earlier.
    Today, my Camaro LT1 6.2 liter in another stratosphere performance wise but get 32 mpg on the highway at 70 with the cruise on and meets Low Emission Vehicle standards. All the while providing that sound, vibration, and performance of any of the best of the old school Camaros.
