When the piano first start in Part Two I found myself looking over my shoulder thinking someone was playing in my house lol Jennifer did an excellent job on the mix
Is it bad I listen to every version of this you record? This one always gets me. The descriptions in the story are amazing. As I have said before, these old folks really knew how to write! This one is truly excellent. That dinner was something else! Great job both of you. The narration, sounds, and background noise are awesome!! Incredible work! Thanks!
I haven't heard this story before I like it especially with the sound effects 🙂 you Ian are truly the master of your craft and a magician with words and I must say that I fall asleep too your voice so often that I have to relisten them
This is one of the stories at the top of my list to Narrate. This will serve as Optimised Training Fodder in Narrative Technique and Effects Additions Much appreciated, sir.
I'm listening your work since December. I fully enjoy every moment of your reading. Thanks for your time and effort. P. S. I loved your previous intro with piano and typewriter.
@@HorrorBabble the piano and the typewriter helped to create a state of mind suitable for the ful enjoyment of each story. In our age vampires, ghosts etc. have no place. We have to go back to a previous century and try to listen a story as they would do.
Guy gets caught in the rain, goes into an old house, there's an old man there who's obsessed with a picture of cannibals preparing their food, this picture being found in an ancient book... I won't give away the ending in case you haven't read it yet
Robert Bloch a great American author it's a crime his books are out if print
@@tomsenick2033p Several will soon be back in print from Valancourt Books 👍
This version was awesome. I think all the sound effects enhanced the story. It was still gruesome as ever. Thank you Ian and Jenn for a marvelous job.
Excellent presentation of a classic story, completely enhanced by the wonderful narration and sound effects.
Thanks, Mark! And kudos for the Peter Gabriel ‘So’ profile picture.
Oh God do I want to hear all the slovenly feasting of these Hellbound Monks....
Jesus
Excellent, thanks Mr. Bloch and HB!!! 🙏
The feasting reminds me of the Skeksis feast from The Dark Crystal.
The hospitality of these monks is truly infamous! Bravo HorrorBabble for another great work
Great Writer Robert Bloch, very good story. Thanks!!
The sound of the chewing and gorging really gets on my nerves Good job 👌

Excellent tale!
Excellent work!
Loved it!
This is a great story and you did a great job on the reading. This is the sort of story that would make a killer short film IMO.

Wonderfully done then narration was excellent
That was magnificent
Most excellent!
You can tell the young Bloch was arse-deep in the old gothic works when he wrote this.
Absolutely!
WOW ... AWESOME ! :-)
I wonder if Bloch read Lovecraft's "The Picture in the House" before he wrote this
I’m not sure I remember that one. If there’s a Lovecraft tale I’ve overlooked It’d be a helluva thing..

It doesn’t sound familiar. I’m going to listen to it now. Thanks.
You're welcome!
Excellent
Everything was going great 'til someone lost their head.
Has this ever been on tv? Anyway I always prefer your version, amazing!
Awesome 😈👍

Well....he got to see his brother after all! 👻
Should try Robert e Howard pigeons from hell gave me a nice little shiver
For some reason, I’m getting hungry.
👍❤️❤️
You don't have to keep the gross eating noises for so long we get it.
Yyyy
Love this one. Glad to hear it again!
Is it just me or is this just a total ripoff of Algernon Blackwood’s “Secret Worship?”
Excellent tale- well done and many thanks!
