Cycling the Great North Trail part 9 - Alston to Haltwhistle via the South Tyne Trail

An easy day along the mostly flat old railway line course of the South Tyne Trail. The small exception is the steep descent to go under the Lambley viaduct, then up the other side. But the view from the top makes it all worthwhile

true, i need to get out more! domestic obligations restrict me to short rides [am just full of excuses!], but i did ride the north cost of borneo once, and rode a brompton from budapest to belgrade [so am not just 'armchair']. Your videos are well produced and the maps are really helpful!
