    Thanks . Farewell REX .I agree they had ridiculous and unfair rules regarding lounge access.I flew them twice , Melbourne to Adelaide business class ( when Jetstar abruptly cancelled my flight ) and Sydney to Melbourne business class .Very good service and very nice food ; more substantial then Virgin Business Class .On my flight to Adelaide I was the only passenger to have white wine and a fellow passenger had red wine .They very kindly gave us the rest of the bottles to take off the plane ! " We are not supposed to do this , so please don't tell anyone at the airport".Waste not want not ! .

    Whilst we want Qantas to do well as a national carrier we certainly want competition and in Qantas' own words survival of the fittest. Rex for instance stopped Ballina Sydney early flight and cut Ballina Brisbane Maryborough service. A visionary leader would have kept the Ballina Sydney early 6:30am flight - neither Virgin nor Qantas/Jetstar have one that early and instead of Maryborough could have had Ballina/Brisbane/Maroochydore route. Instead they went for glory and ended up being shunted through the glory hole
