Man I hope the console after the switch Nintendo brings us back some of their musical charm. Just the different menu themes always made me smile. The switch is so lifeless.. so many great games on the switch, but I miss that old Nintendo charm!

Maybe it's a bit bare bones because they wanted to get it out the door ASAP as the Wii U wasn't doing so well but I just hope they switch things up a bit in the future (no pun intended hahaha)

All of the sweet childhood memories of crazy fun is all bland now.. Every game I own for the switch just doesn't feel the same.. Every time I hook up my Nintendo Wii, Gamecube, N64, I feel the waves of childhood and I'm even jamming out to every song I hear! The switch has some wonderful music as well, but it's just not the same. I miss the old Paper Marios and Mario Parties. I am very happy for Party Superstars, but for Super Mario Party it's a 50/50. I love the minigames, they feel original and fresh, but something about the fonts and plain white neutrals. Mario's colorfulness is drained :(. Ugh, Nintendo also has some issues with the Paper Mario Series! Paper Mario used to have the feeling of an RPG, it was supposed to be the sequel to Su[per Mario RPG, and they continued that "sequel" energy into the other 2 sequels to Paper Mario, hell even Sticker Star! (even though it wasn't the best, still best music!!) Origami King feels very Mario style, but repeats the same pattern of "Arts and Crafts". I am an arts and crafts person myself, but I can't stand anymore sequels with this concept! I'm done sticker collecting, color splashing, and spreading confetti paper on the ground! I want the feeling of fighting Mario characters, not a pencil case! (Even though it's hilarious as hell and kinda fun!) I love every Paper Mario game don't get me wrong, but I miss the old days where we explored original Toad Town, Rogueport, and the wonderful town of The Flipside/Flopside and had our mission to save the Princess of some crazy catastrophe. I noticed how Gamecube had the princess take a twist into turning possessed or evil like in The Thousand Year Door where peach gets possessed by The Shadow Queen, and how Zelda turns possessed in Twilight Princess. But anyways, I just miss old Nintendo, I'm bored of the switch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they should make a mode for the switch where its just a modernized wii menu, with a remix of the wii menu music and dark mode so it looks modern but still has the wii's charm

this and the first video really made me realise how much i kinda like Nintendo muzak/bossa nova/'menu' music. It's an era i don't exactly have nostalgia for due to age (certain tracks being exceptions), but i still like the distinctly Nintendo flavour of these tunes. i felt a little disappointed by the Wii as a system, but this music makes me appreciate that era a little more.
