- Episode 3 of ace attorney debate, this time Books vs Music!
Who will win this time?
This was a fun and interesting topic to debate, Let us know if you have suggestions!
Fun fact: this debate took us like 2 hours in discord xD
I had to cut off and remove some boring stuff so yeah
Video was made with objection.lol
objection.lol/
...wait people actually read descriptions?
Are you on Team Books or Team Music?
book cause old
Books
@ViciousVenison music came before books but I agree more books because sheet music + story + ai generated books
not sure tbh, does remixes or variations of the same song count?
b o o k
"im pregnant"
"im taking the kids"
"say goodbye to your son"
IM SOBBING WHAT
“Finally, I’m useful for something”
Why is this relatable 💀
Fr, that statement feels relatable
Real-
the dude playing edgeworth is SO unhinged... i love them 💀
Fr
Same ngl
yes, they are having way too much fun
I can fix them
FR
I just listened to two guys having a divorce in the middle of an argument about music and books
Ah yes the famous 'Edgeworth Divorce Subplot'
"YIPPEEE. I'm divorcing you"
This very educational video teached me correct way of writing "pregnant" when I though its "pregnat"
congratulations
Am I Pregant?
Am I pragnent?
Am I pergant?
Am I gregnant?
Next one should be whether there are more forks or spoons. Or knives and forks if forks and spoons are too close to make a good argument out of.
what is a spoon but a non pointed fork?
@@GarciaGamingFR what is a fork but a pointed spoon?
@@LlamasAreFluffy what is a fork but a tiny dull three pronged sword?
@@Th3.H0n3y.K4t what is a spork?
If it was fork vs spoon, they would need to decide which side sporks go on.
Argument for the music side regarding OSTs. While there are only so many games, there are countless copies of games on different devices, and those OSTs are kept as separate files within the games’ files
Nice point! I guess music wins!
@@kianthornton2856 well, the 7 billion is only counting the bible...
I love how they just SPAM "Objection !" every freaking second 🤣
phoenix is lucky we're only talking about released books lol.
If we weren't, then personal diaries and journals would also count.
we also didn't include things such as manuals, manuscripts, cook books, and more
@@ibraheemshuaib8954 at this point we could also count newspaper and since almost every city has a daily newspaper with thousands of copies being made everyday that would add up incredibly
@@giappo1752 A newspaper is just a folded page, so it can't count.
WHY DID PHOENIX NOT BRING UP REMIXES OF SONGS I'M SO MAD
damn girl what your number
Those would count under the generic "File" description. It doesn't matter what type of music it is, as long as it is a digital file. The real question is why Pheonix didn't bring up downloaded copies of songs, since people make playlists all the time. It probably given him the chance to compete with Edgeworth's numbers.
Isolation - NightHawk22
The family ended in less then 20 mins dang poor son
The debates are always on par with my expectations of discord rants
whoever are the two people doing these, they are comedy geniuses
also thank you for the effort of adapting the discussions for us
YEAAA PART THREEEE i found this series recently, the amount of joy i had when i see another debate formatted
thank you!! :D hope you enjoy this one lol
Lmao same I haven't laughed this hard in while
When Christians are the reason Phoenix Wright lost
according to edgeworth, he said that was his trump card
also Muslims, right? I'm pretty sure that there are way more Muslims than christians. hell, there are countries that are either completely, or 99% Muslim. like, the only saving grace for us is rebellion.
If music said this one point it would've made them win "what about downloads from Spotify and TH-cam and TH-cam music"
books win for right now because they have been made a lot more than files of music. recording music was prolly only sometime in the 1900s but books have been made a long time before that
we eating good tonight 🔥🔥🔥
let's goooo 🔥🔥
Would say Team Music had a bit of an unfair chance against music since they were considering the number of singles of music (like individual songs) versus the number of copies of a single book (like the bible). By the logic of the number of copies of music as files (yes including CDs since if you put a CD into a computer, it shows FILES of the music, DRM not withstanding), every computer has some kind of music...same with phones, even old flip phones with their ringtone jingles.
Steaming also does create a file on the downloader's end. You see a loading bar? You're downloading the file while at the same time it's playing, and when you've finished listening to the song it's automatically deleted. So teeeeeeechnically that's its own copy? Albeit briefly. At that point for digital music via FILE it should be something that you can have instant access to without needing the internet in order to just play it, like an MP3/WAV/OGG/etc.
If we're talking *copies* of released books vs music, music has books beat.
Singles (maybe including the different versions of the same thing like the Bible KJV/NKJV/NIV/etc as an example, but not like digital, hardback, paperback, leatherbound, etc)? Might be closer to 50/50
Also including Remixes of songs, adding that to the same thing as different versions of some books.
phoenix bringing out movies and video games ost isn't the victory he thinks it is. we have screenplay for both video games and movies, and if you don't want to count them as books because not released to the public, well can i teach you about novelization? a lot of movies (and more rarely video games but it happens) are actually novelized (generally by the scenarist of said film but sometimes as a side product) so for a lot of these movies there's actually a book for it, which don't sell that much mind you, but since there aren't that many osts, these novelizations of movies just need around hundreds of sales to bypass the number of music. (not counting the sales of said osts but let's be real who buys that?)
also consider how many mass produced commodities include MANUALS. cars, phones, computers, complex toys, lego sets, etc. those items alone would produce more units per day than there are songs produced per day.
"who let bro cook" 💀
With songs existing from approx 1400 BC and books existing from 500 BC, songs seems to be the winner BUT since we are only counting mp3s books are more likely the winner considering how if 1 mp3 existed of each song released after the invention of mp3s and mp3 players it still wouldn't come close to the combination of books sold to the last century
Meaning books more likely win (I have 1% help)
Edit:I was also about to make a point about religious books before halfway of the video (but my phone was 1%) and then when I continued EDGEWORTH MADE THE EXACT POINT I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE.
Hey, Do shops & restaurants v homes next, that would be really interesting to see. I'm in gujurat, and the amount of small, tightly packed businesses is INSANE.
Also around the whole "everybody can do a shitty song on his computer" well yeah it's a real RECENT phenomomenon. like 10 years ago this barely existed , not to mention most people who do music only do music. Meanwhile a lot of books are published by people that aren't actual writers, like celebrities, politicians ... people with statute, money or power can just get their shitty books published if they want it, while not that many people do music if they aren't musicians themselves. also saying a lot of people do music when music is one the least accessible art when writing is taught at every stage of most national school system is just blowing up of proportions indie music.
but again, it's a weird double standard to consider shitty mp3 done on your music software and not books by millions of people on their computer. even considering music streaming, i think books win.
This series is so funny, glad to see more of it! But here's a question: which are there more of, boats or trains? Maybe airplanes or trains if boats is too close.
plastic vs glass
Also laughed a lot out of this video. Keep up the good work!
Plastic wins easy, it's made from slag left after petroleum refinement. Glass is made just for Windows in quantities close enough to consider.
but isn't mirrors made out of glass? There are a lot of mirrors in the world, including mirror mazes and stuff
@@goldend791 on the other hand I do agree with you tho because plastic can't really be recycled so it just stays and keeps on adding up while glass is recycled and reused ;-;
@@vkk1-no3lv the reason vampires dont reflect in mirrors is because they used to be coated with silver and its a holy metal, nowadays though mirrors are backed with a special reflective plastic
@@goldend791 okok but consider churches. They are a lot of churches, and with churches come stained glass
and glass was discovered before plastic and people used it for drinking and glasses and stuff right? So there would technically probably be more glass....
It really depends on what counts, Like of we include A.I useage or like OFFICIAL Books.
But honestly, Music wins 100%
Yippeeee happy to see more of these :D
Yipeee thanks :D
i have contributed at least a fraction of a percent to the total amount of music in the world due to how many songs (unreleased or not) i've made
I just saw the first and second one, and I’m loving all this.
Damm bro, i love these videos, please guys, continue with this debates
I’ve help write a book (unfinished), written a book with a friend (finished), and am currently writing a book (WIP), AND I’m writing music!
phoenix remember the freaking osts
wow these videos are really good... I wish I could have debates as productive as these with people lol
The problem with counting unreleased stuff is that you dont know how many there are. because they are unreleased.
Music solos ngl, also i love how they say DEFINE WHAT IT IS when losing
i was thinking the series was over, now it's relieved
"Im sounding like a sponsor-" real tho like whenever i explain a game i feel like im telling people to go buy it/play it btw HELP THE RANDOMNESS ON THE "We're getting a divorce" AND "i'm pregnant" IS KILLING ME)
edit: IM CRYING "YIPPEEEEE!! I'm divorcing you, say goodbye to ur son" "Enjoy your first win- wait what"
"Music is music even when it's shitty" man same can be applied to books, it takes like an hour or two to write a children's book
wow new one
This was the funniest thing ive seen all year, please make more
120k songs a day taking 10 days to become a billion is crazy
Id be interested in seeing if there's more mirrors or cameras. Mirrors are in about every building but so are cameras.
Also signs versus light bulbs
Glass versus paint
Aren't there mirrors in a camera???
@@footloosegenius2242those are the lens not mirrors
@@unlimitedpower-fs2fn there are indeed mirrors in a camera(i studied photography for a year)
@@dudemanguybro-nd5gfoh ok
What about universities? And schools and colleges. Perfect mass-producers of books.
The printing presses never stop working, they just move onto another book. Also what about manga/comics and light novels (for the weebs) both can exist in digital and physical.
Objection!! When people download videos games are they also downloading the soundtracks to the game.
I know it’s not a “which has more” debate, but I’d love to see a debate on the best piece of cutlery. I’ve always wondered and I’d love to see the outcome
That was so stupid lmao i loved it
next you should do pillows or shoes (if you ever do this its gonna be the stupidest argument ever)
I asked if the Bible and Quran counted and a few seconds later bro pulled out biblical mathematics
I love these series
A stream for a single song should be considered as a copy. Since it gets the music data from the server. But that wouldn't compete with books tbh
5:29 The book "How to Kill a Mockingbird" my brother in christ that book is NOT a how-to
I love how Edgeworth just devolved into the insults of a joking child lol! I’m on Team Music personally because music is a very abstract concept that allows virtually any sound paired with instruments or vocals to be counted as music. And if Google can still count books and not music, it caaan mean there is way too much music. However it could also mean they haven’t gotten around to counting all the individual original songs/OSTs and all. OSTs have been a thing since around the 90s and 2000s so if you give or take another decade or so, there may be more music than books in the future. Also the “supply in demand” evidence is very wobbly due to the difficulty of exactly tracking demand for a product around the world. Can’t wait to see more silly debates!
When you stream, I believe a slice of a music file is made on your computer, that keeps moving as the play head does to keep up, therefore streaming counts, but for every listen rather than every copy
Music wins because in very music heavy video games you need to actually have the files in your computer the have them play out in the actual software, so every time a game is downloaded (via any means) you get the entire soundtrack from it
Idea: are there more bowls (any type) than cups
would every work posted on Archive of Our Own be considered a book?
The works can be downloaded into a digital copy and sometimes can be of comparable length with physical copies of books.
you should absolutely do which is there more of, Chess pieces, or Checker Pieces?
nick suggusted, i got an idea
Visual Arts like paintings vs Audio Arts like music, mayb even Culonary Arts?
Hmm.... seems like algorithm didn't pick this one up as much as the other two.
I feel like phoenix and edgeworth could've had a much closer argument if they established the rules some more.
A fair assessment of a book is written work with a cover and a back, created to preserve/share info to the public. Ex: novels, textbooks, etc. Non Ex: Diaries, notebooks.
A fair assessment of music is a melody preserved in some shape or form to be learned or listened by someone else. Ex: sheet music, mp3s, records. Non Ex: whistling or humming a random tune.
This would've made the argument much more close since both writing and music have been created and preserved around the same time. (The time of early humans from what I know.)
I'm glad that the people I agree with in these arguments win.
Thank you for these!
Ok now do a TH-cam vs Debate
peak just dropped, also i think that food vs drinks (which are there more of in the world) would be a good idea for a video
YOOO ANOTHER ONE!
Think of every video game that has songs, those songs are sorted as files. Also, phones have multiple default ringtones, also files. Add those together, especially considering how many phones exist, and music definitely wins.
but how many books does the average person have? probably around 25, and if everyone of the 8 billion people in the population has 25, thats literally 200,000,000,000
Are there more games or shows in the world? And if it’s not that close, then maybe video games vs tv shows
Always been on Edgeworth side, at first glance he always makes more sense and in this episode he didnt disappoint. Love the f**king divorce subplot😂 plus the line "Ill manipulate your ass" wasnt something i thought I'd hear or see today lmao
1 word: Bible.
Really any religious text.
I feel as though books would have more since they’ve been around since 868 CE…
W video. I would divorce someone over a debate!
This is a collection of beautiful nonsense I didn't know I needed in my life. Also WHOOOOOOO EDGEWORTH WON AN ARGUMENT
That was a good chuckle 🤭
Its just like me and my friend 😂
I also misread it as trillion lol
Did they forget you can download music from streaming services
I mean do Audiobooks count and what about kindles or devices specifically made for reading, same goes for music with ipods and stuff like that.
ANOTHER! let’s fucking go
Ok but Edgeworth lowkey sound like my homies istg, you be having a normal conversation and next thing you know you're in a romantic relationship with them for 14 years
Also congrats Red Jar for finally winning lmfao
lets not even bring up manga sales i mean shonen jump has sold what, over 1b copies?
correction they’ve sold 7.5b that was the population like 2 years ago wrap it up
Burgers vs chicken sandwiches just because last night I was drunk and gave my friend $50 to get us a bunch of Chick-fil-A
What about the age old question
Which would win
1 of Every Pokémon or 1 Billion Lions
Divorce proceedings next!!!!
these videos helped me read fast
Which goes first: Milk or cereal?
So far, I’ve always agreed with Edgeworth
4:26 dont mind me, just saving the best timestamp (books stay winning)
Something was missed in the games argument for music, with the file definition you have to keep into account that every person who wants to play that game has to install all of the music files onto that device.
"ACCORDING TO BASIC MATH THERE IS 300 BILLION BIBLES" BAHAHAHA
Saying "This is obviously wrong, but..." and then using what you are about to say as an argument is insane to me.
6:15 it would take 100 days actually. Unless you meant 1 million
phoenix lost the second he said that at 6:17
he doesnt know basic math boom edgeworth wins and takes the kids
How about ‘Which is better? McDonald’s or KFC’
the dictionary 🤓
those ARE files
