    This makes me so happy! I love trying to blow your minds! This was an AWESOME reaction! Oh yeah, There's guys like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, I would even like to put Randy Rhoads up there! I love guitar players. Also, I'm a huge fan of Alex Lifeson from RUSH! (Hollywood, you need to keep your eyes on the screen, because you really shouldn't miss the great performances and I say that with the up-most love and respect for what you do!) Love you guys! Thanks again for the fantastic reaction!

Sure, you have a lot of kids that can play as fast as him and with similar technical ability, but kids nowadays have all the social media to teach them how to do it. 70's, 80's and 90's you had to figure it out for yourself, and very few could or did.

    Yngwie like Van Halen changed guitar music forever. He pretty much created what has been called neoclassical metal. As far as alternate picking on guitar goes Yngwie is hard to beat. He gets critized for kinda being a one trick pony , the joke is if you heard one Yngwie record well then you've heard them all. He's the best at what he does. There are too many genres of music to pick one guitarist as the best of all time.

    • @Hilariumosis
      @Hilariumosis ปีที่แล้ว

      I hate that argument. You can apply the one-trick thing to anyone in anything. Because when you break it down nothing is really that complex once you just understand it. Yngwie does pretty much everything technique wise at various degrees. People just letting the speed of the notes cloud their perception.
      If he´s a one-trick pony then they are one-trick listeners.

    • @epic103
      @epic103 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Hilariumosis - Many of Yngwie's critics forget about his bending and vibrato, both are top notch. Even though Yngwie plays fast much of the time there's still a lot of substance behind what he plays. His vibrato is often overlooked, but it's one of the best.

    When it comes to technical skill at playing the guitar, Yngwie and Buckethead are the archmages, the wizards. They are the pinnacle of what a human being can physically do with that instrument, but they have a musical mindset that is almost alien to most people, but will always have a rabid fanbase even if they're never popular with the mainstream music fan. Right beside them are the virtuosos, who while not QUITE as technically adept are more than most people could ever reach, have a much broader appeal musically and are less narrowly focused. I'm talking about people like Joe Satriani, EVH, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Darrell, Guthrie Govan, Allan Holdsworth, etc. These are guys who will occasionally step into the realm of wizards, but refuse to live there because their sense of musicality requires them to compromise and make stuff they think other people will want to listen to. Yngwie and Buckethead do not care. They concoct forbidden spells of guitaromancy in their black towers of eldritch majesty, and will share their magic with the masses whether they like it or not. Guthrie Govan may actually have his feet in both camps, as many consider him to be the greatest living guitarist, but this may just be a matter of taste. Shawn Lane may have actually been the greatest guitarist ever, EVER. I think Guthrie agrees with that too. All of this is really a gross oversimplification though, all of these guys have unique skills in very specific areas of guitar wizardry formed from their own musical foundations.

    Your pronunciation of 'Ing-vay' is correct... He played that part with his teeth, just so you know. It's one of his moves. He plays behind his back too and throws the guitar around his body and in the air and does high kicks to kick his picks to the audience, lights his guitar on fire, etc a la Jimi Hendrix (whose Montery Pop festival performance from a Swedish news program aired the day Hendrix died inspired him to pick up the guitar) during his concerts. He was my inspiration to pick up a guitar in the first place. Although he rarely plays blues, as he is inspired by classical music (Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Paganini, etc) he is also a phenomenal blues player. Check out "Spasebo Blues' from Live In Leningrad.

    from a guitarists perspective, Yngwie is the hardest to play. I can play Randy Rhoads crazy train, slash, Eddie Van Halen eruption, but Yngwie is the hardest of them all to play. It doesn't mean he is the best, it just means from a technical perspective, he is the absolute most difficult because he comes from a classical background he plays like a virtuoso classical player on guitar.
    If you ask any guitarist he really plays and can play things like Eddie Van Halen, SRV and Hendrix, etc.. Yngwie is way way way harder.

    BTW. Are you opening trivia questions from Trivial Pursuit Kids Edition or Jeopardy: Celebrity Edition? There’s never ever a tough question. Edit: I love that you guys challenge each other with trivia questions. Getting smarter never hurts anyone. But how come rap guy doesn’t get asked questions? Is the metal guy someone that says he knows more and it’s an inside joke with y’all?

    Why does your subtitle in the thumbnail say "he WAS a beast"? Yngwie, afaik, is still alive.

    This is probably my favorite reaction vid to Yngwie, I love your enthusiasm and energy. A lot of Yngwie reactions are either to obnoxious or the people reacting just look bored af.

    I see Slash more as a Blues player tbh. Yngwie pretty much made his own NeoClassical genre. But yah he is a def a S+ Tier :)

    Cool reaction videos, dudes. If you like Yngwie's playing, then y'all should check out the metal guitarist DAVID T. CHASTAIN. His albums Instrumental Variations, Within The Heat, and Elegant Seduction are awesome!

    Holy crap! You guys haven't done Stevie Vai's For the Love of God! For the love of God! The live version with the Holland orchestra is beyond mind blowing.

      It isn`t please stop pushing this inferior version. It`s sloppy, slightly out of tune at times and the whole orchestra distracts from the essence of the track. The G3 1996 version is far superior...

      @@JamoZNL get real dude. It's epic. I've never seen anyone react to it without they're jaw dropping at least a little bit. Go back to simp land with that comment.

      Simp land? You make no sense at all. I'm a big Vai fan, but you have to be realistic here. Compare both versions side by side and its obvious the orchestra one is not up to par with the g3 one. If can't hear what i mean, i suggest you stop playing guitar (if you play at all)

    Always sounds impressive on a single track with a fast technique but only has one tone and without emotion - always felt he was a one trick pony in that regard. For me Gary Moore was the finished complete article.

    It's very difficult to rank musicians. Pretty mucyh any guitarist that pratices every day will technically be a better player than Curt Cobain. But how many of these guitarists will have the talent to compose songs as he did? And only a fraction of guitarists will ever be as technically advanced as for example Buckethead. But his music is kinda difficult to listen to and not alot of people like it.
