    That was worth every penny of your marketing budget. I have my glass of Jura here beside me.

    Trad gone to Jazz. Old sounds made new music. They and Beoga too. Fabulously.🎶

      Saw them Friday night in Stirling. As someone has already commented… like folk on steroids with added venom! What an amazing experience. Thank you Talisk!

      If you haven't heard them, when you are through here, try Beoga, similar musical style, but a larger group, with more and more varied instruments, for a different sound. Their 'Lovely Madness" is a great place to start, builds throughout, and really letting go by the end. As one example, instead of the concertina, they employ two accordions.

    My thought was, BOY, that's a lot of sound for three people, on acoustic instruments, then I saw the loopers...nice. Those things really expand the capabilities of any musician, but especially so soloists, and then people in a small group, like this. The stutter in the concertina is very cool, that thing, with you playing it, is REALLY agile. The energy is first rate, also.

    I can't even imagine the condition of their fingers (and toes) after these performances! Talk about high energy! Beautiful performance!

    There are VERY VERY few players of the concertina like this. Excellent performance - absolute stunning play.

      Before him was Niall Vallely in a band called Nomos who could play concertina so rapidly. He is the brother of Cillian Vallely the pipes player in Lunasa and married to Karen Casey of early Solas fame. I recommend her first solo album Songlines and especially The Ballad Of Accounting and The Song Of The Wandering Aengus ( W.B. Yeats).

      It's the Scottish accents maybe catching you out.Graeme Armstrong the guitarist shouts out "all the way from Glasgow (Scotland ) on concertina Mohsen Amini"......Mohsen replies "lets hear it for Graeme Armstrong on guitar"....Mohsen also shouts out "and for Hayley Keenan on the fiddle",,,,,,,,, right after these introductions he shouts out 'Lets see you put your hands together (clap along to the music.)
      This is the way they do it live in front of an audience. Unfortunately this was around the time of the pandemic lockdown in Scotland so there was just a live stream or recording from the Jura Whisky Distillery on the Isle of Jura ,Scotland .The annual Jura Feis (music festival) is now back to normal and the line up is around on here at youtube. Some other Scottish acts in this genre on here at youtube worth a listen to are RURA....MANRAN....ROSS AINSLIE.....BREABACH.....KINNARIS QUINTET...TIDE LINES.....PROJECT SMOK....PAUL McKENNA BAND...FOURTH MOON...DAIM.....SKIPINNISH all of these names will lead you to many ,many more acts we're blessed to have around us here in Scotland

      @humank3985 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for sharing that with me! I've never had the opportunity to talk to someone with a Scottish accent, and English isn't my first language either. However, I've grown a strong appreciation for Scottish music because of these individuals and their performance in this video in particular. It's inspired me to really dive into the details and understand everything that's happening!

    • @johnmcdade7379

      @@humank3985 Enjoy the journey ,you'll hear and see very accomplished musicians and music that are worth listening to. Some may sing in Scottish Gaelic which although you may not understand the words the music itself will convey the message of joy, sadness ,life , death. Et al

    • @humank3985
      @humank3985 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnmcdade7379 Absolutely! Scottish music captivates me emotionally, even though I struggle to put into words what draws me to it. It has a cyclical nature while also being enriched with dynamic transitions.

      They can. It's party a function of the number of bellows folds. Many are six, some are 8, I'm only counting 7 which I think would be pretty odd. Anyhow, I bet he has to change the oil and rotate the tires on that thing very frequently.
