Since my purchase of a 2012 135i with 73k miles in late may 2023 i have successfully used and completed 1.valve cover replacement , 2.spark plugs and ignition coils , 3.oil filter housing gasket , 4. pulley and serpentine belt , 5. intercooler and boost pipe and 6. coolant and engine oil change.. This channel is a hidden gem on the internet and the clear videos and parts list made these jobs reasonably easy so Thanks ! Over the winter i plan to do the oil pan gasket wish me luck
@michaelyaghdjian9201 with the low cost difference and the amount of labor required, I decided to change the valve cover ... good thing I did as I broke the original one when removing it ... if you only have 25k on the current one, it should not have to be changed now ... when facing the engine, if no visual signs of oil between the valve cover ( especially on the left ( passenger side )and mating surface are present, you should be good to go
Bring back memories when went through that same job. When oil got in my cooling system and that where it all happen at the gasket. Had to flush my coolant system twice. 3 yrs ago.
Very good informative video... thank you. Just a FYI when loosing bolts always go counter clock wise, clock wise to tighten. Just referring to when you mention going upward to loosen the bolt on the OFHG... just imagine a clock and facing the bolt head. Go counter clock wise is to loosen and clockwise is to tighten. Just an easy tactic while doing bolts, nuts etc. Great vid though
Right on man. Righty tighty lefty loosey. But we totally had the orientation confused because the bolt was positioned in a weird way! Monkeys sometimes fall off a tree, haha. I appreciate you pointing this out in the comments for other viewers!
Hey did anyone run into a problem with coolant leaking from the coolant expansion hose ( at the junction with the radiator hose) afrer replacing it? The expansion hose just kinda fits onto the radiator hose should i tight-wrap it?
Hey there, sorry about the delayed reply. We had no problem with the clutch after going FBO and tuning. It's been going strong for about a year now after the tune with no problems!
Definitely a wear item so it will suffer from slippage with more than 100+hp. Definitely on the list of things to do. There’s a great option using the 550 clutch kit to answer the additional torque/hp.
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN + TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!!!!

Having the knowledge to stage 2.5 snow performance methanol inject my DCT 135i '12 because of your channel -- keep it up!👍
Great to hear!
You just got recommended to me by the algorithm and I must say you handled that third bolt way better than I did on my E92 335!
Guys keep up the good work & grind, i havent seen anybody explain things better than u. 2023 is yours❤
Thank you Romet!

You’re actually not suppose to reuse the oil filter housing bolts

Do you think that the clutch will have problems with the torque after the MHD stg 2 tune?
