lol your words sometimes I have to stop & decifer. "Pipping out" lol. I knew that meant hatching. I thonk the ducklings wanted to follow Hunter. Ducks & Geese imprint after hatching to the first one they see.

I spend pretty much all my time alone! I see my grandkids every couple of weeks to take out my trash! The rest of my kid and grandkids are not close. When I watch y'all I feel like I am watching family! I smile every time Houston smiles! He makes me feel good about the way he is raised. I know this sounds crazy, but he is such a kind and happy child he just makes me smile! I don't feel so alone when I watch y'all!

Houston is a well rounded person with a big heart and taught by his wonderful parents what a great family love you guys and expression on his face when he was holding her egg was very awesome
For future reference, I'd check with Jason and Mary Carl, if I'm not mistaken, I think the small end should be pointing down, in the stand up incubator. I think he said it allows for a larger oxygen pocket in the shell.
This is sooooo exciting and I'm an adult, I could only imagine how excited Houston is!
I believe you’re right Ashleigh. I remember MaryCarl explaining about the air pocket on the bottom/rounded end of the egg. I Love watching and learning from Lester, Daniel, Jason, and their families! Happy Farm, Happy Life 🥰
The air pocket is in the fat/wide end so the pointy end should be pointed down.

I was going to suggest MaryCarl myself but was afraid some might take offense to it. I watch all their videos: Ima survivor, CogHill farms, Suits to boots, all the other Morrow videos, and Arms as well. They are all very entertaining and informative, too.
Houston just loves this.. It’s a bunch of fun.. I just loved the peeping sound coming from the egg.. it’s a miracle..!!

Good to see Houston's face light up when he saw the hatchlings. In the 1940s in London,during the war years, I used to buy day old chicks. Put them in a box with a wrapped hot water bottle to keep them warm. Our food was rationed. No electricity in those days. Most survived and went to the table. With all the new gadgets now things have certainly changed and made life easier. But, for a boy the thrill of raising something from an egg never changes. If you put the incubators in insulated boxes it would save your workshop heating usage? I good video.
One suggestion for the incubator he had the ducks and chickens in: When you remove the separator tray (when 3 days left) have a piece of that non-slip foam shelf-liner cut to fit and put that over the plastic the eggs are resting on. The plastic can be slick and their little feet can be hard to keep under them - resulting in splayed legs. You can get a roll of it cheap at a dollar store. They keep it with the shelf-lining rolls. (Sometimes it's used under rugs to keep them from slipping...)
Enjoy! I have a similar incubator and have hatched some chickens and even a peacock egg! I've also had some eggs explode in there and that's a smell you won't ever forget. EVER!

Great experience for Houston. I'm 52 and started with raising and hatching chickens when I was around his age and stuck with it on into my 30s . I sure miss it .When I was his age I used a homemade small cardboard box with a lightbulb and a hole cut in the top to candle the eggs. I still have a few chickens and a few Moscovy ducks on our pond. Great job Houston
I have the same incubator I have hatched several sets and let local schools borrow it and my eggs to hatch is great I just hatched a small batch I set 11 hatched 9 of them
I also don't keep any room or anything that warm and it did fine
It was real nice of Jamie to send Huston some eggs I hope the geese all hatch and Huston gets some more duck eggs to hatch

Doesn’t seem that long ago I watched Jami pack up those duck eggs, time flies when you’re having fun. Those little ducks & chicks are adorable, live watching them grow up. Would be so cool if Pablo is the dad & they take after him, little puppy dog ducks. Can’t wait for the geese & especially the turtles. God bless all 🙏😊❤️

Nice job Houston. Way to keep the old school way of life alive. I live in the big city but grew up on a farm and the school kids your age wouldnt know the first thing about what you are doing the just sit in a room and stare at a cell phone all day. Im sure they would love to do what you are doing if only give a chance. So thank the good lord above for the wonderful Mom and Dad you have. Have fun buddy.

Great video! Seeing the dachshund standing up melted my heart. I have 4 reds and 2 black and tans at the bridge. I miss them every day. I now have a little chocolate. Andy is about 11. I hope he lives as long as my 6 pack did.

That takes a way bigger incubator than they have. Google ostrich eggs, they're huge.
Wow Houston, I was as surprised as you were to here that baby in the egg cheep. I didn't know they did that. You are so lucky to have your parents help you along with all this learning as you grow. They are wonderful parents. I watched Jami packing the eggs and Lester getting up early to try and collect the goose eggs before the pigs got to them. So I wish you luck with them too. I think baby chicks of any breed are super cute. I can't wait until you can do turtle eggs, that would be exciting.

Love it..I want to incubate eggs here sometime. When I was a kid in the 70s my grandparents had a large incubator.. I cherish those times growing up on the farm with my grandparents. Have a great weekend everyone and God bless

tell Houston here at the cookoo nest homestead we have chickens, ducks gees, turkey . guineafowl and a few quail if he would like some egg we can surely send him a few. i hope his gees hatch he will love them they grow amazingly fast
