Room With A View- Seagulls, Sunsets, Ships & More

We had a great view of San Diego Bay from our hotel room. A few seagulls decided to visit us. They have no fear of people and I have a feeling they are regular visitors of the hotel guests. I could walk right up to them and they would not flinch. We could see all the activity at the North Island Naval Station across the bay and with my 2000 mm zoom lens on my Nikon P900 I could zoom right in on the aircraft. We saw lots of helicopters coming and going, FA18 Hornets taking off and V22 Ospreys landing. We watched the sun go down behind Point Loma and the planes take off from the airport with the SeaWorld space needle in the background. There always seems to be someone trying out the waterjet boards and there was even a big sea lion watching a guy jet around. The Coast Guard stopped a boat and boarded it and we were trying to figure out what was going on but never did. They ended up towing the boat off. The seagulls were the stars of the show though. We would look out the glass doors and see we had another visitor. There always seemed to be something to watch when we sat on the patio.

Love the sea gulls and the sea lion, I would love to try that water jet? though I doubt I could do that but it has to be so much fun! Beautiful as always!

Hey Mark, When I first saw this vid in my feed I thought you and Elle were in Kapalua but no, this definitely is not Hawaii! I've never seen an Osprey aircraft in real life.....very cool that it can be a plane or a helicopter. You got your money's worth out of that view! PS, lots of your views on your Kapalua Bay vid are my hubby & I watching it as we get closer to getting there every November. Greetings from Victoria BC!
