Here is build along number 5, I hope you like it! The wallet build along has been really popular so I may do some other types of purses and wallets in the future starting with this one. There's a few minutes of bad sound in the middle of the video, apologies for that I fixed it as best I could but you might need to turn up the volume if you can't hear it.

+Ian Atkinson I would love to see a women's clutch/long wallet style build along at some point in the future.

What a great way of spending an hour, i don't have any skills working with my bare hands but i've been enjoying watching your videos for many months now, thank you for taking the time to make great videos like this one. Sorry for my english and forgive my mistakes

+katana24 I was just like you, I just enjoyed watching Ian for hours on end, without any knowledge whatsoever until I decided to go and try for myself and I just haven't stopped since, having my own brand, really mate, just go for it, it's incredibly rewarding to make something with your own hands that you can actually use or give/sell to other people! I definitely recommend watching Ian's video on what tools you need to start leatherworking. And Ian, thanks again for your amazing videos, I don't particularly like the design but watching you hand craft something so skillfully really makes my day, I've bought every other pattern packs that you put up on Etsy and they've really helped me not only in making your designs but also by giving me lots of great tips and tricks that I can and do use regularly. Thank you so much and keep up the GREAT work!! Cheers from Porto, Portugal.

+katana24 why don't you have any skills. its not good to be useless. can you even cook or clean , wash clothes

+Ella Marie What sort of comment is that?? I'm pretty sure he didn't say he's useless, let's just appreciate this 'art' as it is, stop judging others.

That's wright, i didn't mean i don't have any skills at all, i don't have the skills to perform such beautiful things with leather but i enjoy watching Ian doing his thing, but sure i can cook and of course i can wash clothes by hand, even though I have had a washing machine for 20 years and i'm not used to wash them with my hands XD

This art is wonderful. Perhaps you are not following the thread correctly or maybe you meant to post this to another individual. I never said that the person who is making this beautiful leather wallet is useless. I never said anyone was useless, and in that respect you Are correct he didn't say he is useless, but he said he has no skills so that equates as a person who has nothing to offer. Its futile, in the end to ponder why someone would even comment like that if they truly didn't believe that they had nothing to offer on any level, because if they really believed that and knew that then they would've done something about how they felt Right. That is the only comment i was trying to make. Whether this person is useless or not I do not know that and I'm not judging someone giving my simple assessment and analysis of the comments that this person chose to post on TH-cam.

This is an excellent tutorial, and goes some way to show just how much work goes into a simple purse, an hour well spent! Where did you buy your parallel jaw pliers?

Just out of curiosity this skiving/peering that is done couldn't it be done using some kind of rough paper ie sand paper on a bit of wood, or some other rough paper, that way you would have complete control over how much is removed then use the knife to tidy up the edges, it may produce a little dust but easy enough to take care of.I tried it with a sand paper nail file works a treat but takes a bit longer, probably would be faster with even rougher sand paper or a mini drill with a sanding disk.

Ian, Where the heck did you get the idea that us Americans don't carry around change/coins? I have to carry a coin pouch! I downloaded your triangle pouch pdf just now, to make and give as gifts!

Ian, I contacted the Clas Ohlson business regarding the microplane, and they said they don't ship to the US. Any chance you could purchase one and ship it? (Black Market microplane....?????)
Maybe the shipping costs are prohibitive. Just wondering.

Hey Ron, in case you're still interested Lowe's sells trimming planes in Canada very similar to the one he uses.

Ian, probably you already covered that in some of the videos, but I didn't found it.
There is a glue from Fiebings "Leathercraft Cement" - would you recommend it or it is not a best one?
