I just began to learn cello and this answered so many questions about how I should set the pin, hold the body, etc. Thank you discussing theory in an approachable way.
Thank you David. Your approach to this issue reaffirms my learning and my teaching to the young. May God bless you with many more years of active performing and teaching.
@cellodiva1 I am a new cellist, but a accomplished violin/violist and not as young as I would wish, not as tall, I have been having tingling in my right arm and have tried to adjust my cello so that I could have a less stressful bowing arm on the 'A'. Thanks you, David, for this video (and all of them), I have a better understanding of how to achieve my goal. P.S.- I also invested in a Spirocore 'C' and 'G' string, they haven't arrived as yet.
Hi, My name is Jackson, I'm a cellist, I have a question, I do not know how to speak English, so I understood little of the video. Is your Endpin made of aluminum? What is the difference between the sound of aluminum and that of carbon fiber?

On the height of the chair, wouldn't a short chair cause your knees to be higher than your hips eventually causing lower back problems?
