It would be lovely to hear the differences between before and after or same cello with two different endpin sounds, thank you so much Edgar, this is really interesting!!

I would love to hear some sound demos, Edgar. Thank you for offering. My cello has a Glasser CF endpin.

Edgar, I am considering a Bender endpin. I would really like to hear what a cello sounds like with the different collet nuts and the different shaft materials if possible. Thank you!

Have Linea Macchi Cello, with a carbon fiber tube Endpin. Loved light weight, compared to steel pin.Tried Bender solid Brass endpin, loved beautiful sweet sound. Downside added 1lb, handling pain, weighty. Then Bender Titanium Tube endpin, sounded better than carbon, little added weight. However Titanium Tube didn’t sound as good as solid Brass, but better than carbon, and cello lighter, easier to handle. Didn’t try the solid Titanium Endpin, fear of the solid pin adding too much wt to cello. Only imagine sounding closer to the solid Brass pin. It got too expensive trying new endpins. I’m tall 6'4" need long endpin. Bender Endpins are 23”-24” long, Mitsuke Tripple Brillante endpin (19”-21.5”), isn’t long enough for me.

I'm currently considering other endpins. Thank you so much for your comment!

The one that suits your playing style. It must be very sharp - you never know what floor you’re going to get. I used to carry a very sharp pocket knife in my pocket and could make a lovely neat hole with a twist of the wrist - right in front of the audience without anyone noticing.

What would be the difference in sound without the endpin? The hole open or closed?
