    Hi,
First let me say I love your channel and I love the Airstep. I do however have one gripe with it and with the reviews of it. That it is that there is no mention anywhere of the fact that you cannot just switch Bluetooth on, pair it with your (Windows) PC and start using it in your DAW. Before you can use it in a DAW you must first download and install 2 separate and independent (of Xsonic ) applications (both of which are free, but one is hopeful of donations) and then link all of them together before your DAW is able to then "see" the Airstep. On a personal note, I was able to get it working initially but for some reason one of the applications mentioned above will periodically "pause" the midi. So I now use it over USB instead of Bluetooth.
I hope that Xsonic are working on making this whole procedure something that can be done within their own software. Preferably with no more than a couple of clicks of a mouse. If they do this, then the Airstep would be flawless instead of "just" brilliant

    Whoaaaaaa! That's amazing, Henning!
Without Henning's inspiration, we would never know how many possibilities AIRSTEP has!
Btw about the answer of how to set press and long press together, we have an official "tech" answer: The "press" trigger type of AIRSTEP, means once the footswitch is press down, it triggers. So when you go long-press,
based on the laws of physics, press must be triggered.
But does it mean AIRSTEP cannot set totally two different messages via short-press and long-press with no mess?
Definitely not! You can set the triggers to “release” and "long-press". Then when you short-press the footswitch, it sends one message, And when you go long-press, the long-press won't trigger release, because the footswitch isn't lifted up before long-press action done.

You gotta fix your site. The collections/all page that shows everything lists the controllers as $179, which made me instantly go to buy it... until the product page itself shows the real price of $259. Pump faked.

Does this mean I can send a short press to control a looper and a long press to switch presets as separate actions? Essentially allowing each controller access to 10 switches?

I got an idea for them: create module, no switches, that goes in the amp or rack, just for the connection. This module come with a smaller version of the airstep maybe 3 switches or 4. The idea is aimed to small budget target, and people who does gigs and want less thing in their rigs. I think this target is a nice one to aim as footswitches are used more in live that in studio. Also low price equals more demand. Well, im not an expert of economics or bussiness but i think it would be nice no?

It looks amazing however I don't trust two things: 1 - Bluetooth is not a reliable connection, I have seen it fail live so many times I don't consider it a pro solution. 2: Anything I saw with an antenna had the antena damaged eventually, usually just broken off be it a router or a wireless unit. And this thing lays on the floor! It's gonna go soon :-) But apart of that, yeah it looks like an amazing unit.

OK, so I have a large MIDI rig that is controlled by a Mac. From what I am seeing here, I have to pair the airstrip with my phone to program it, then disconnect the bluetooth from the phone and pair with the Mac to actually use the preset i have created. That seems incredibly stupid,If I can't verify the functionality while I am programming a large complicated preset. Why not just make an app for the Mac, the actual brains of my rig. I don't need a celphone to make music.

I just discovered a new technology that makes modeling obsolete. First changing the sounds is so easy. It has the most amazingly simple user friendly interface. It has a few knobs to twist to get a good sound. The device simply analyzes sound coming into it from your guitar and reproduces every nuance you send to it. It come with a lifetime warranty to never become redundant. The maker promises to give you your double your money back if after 20 years you don't like it. I think they could come up with a better name though. It is called The Guitar.Valve/Tube Amplifier. I think I will get one before modeling tech becomes a one dollar app on my cell phone.

@@alexlewis8468 you could do that but I'd suggest either a long press or use an external midi command. You could use that to a) select the setup and b) simultaneously send out default settings so all your connected device are then ready to go. An older midi footboard, maybe a sansamp midi mouse for example would be perfect for that...if you had long presses x5 already committed to another function.....or you could use a single footswitch's long press to cycle through the 5 setups. You can advance download the app and experiment with scenarios prior to committing to a purchase.
