    The first thing that came to mind was about the look of this, which is cool and all. My thought was that for a long time software has tried to look like real gear and this one looks like real gear designed to look like software, full circle.

      I think the visual design is a metaphor for it being a "clean slate" so you can make it be whatever you want it to be. It's a bit on the large side for what I would want it to be

    I appreciate this presentation in particular for not being like others, where they Bad Monkey it into sounding "just like "; I think the pedal stands on its own. I bought one of these to get a MIDI-controllable, flexible overdrive; the MIDI thing was my primary criteria -- I'd looked at other MIDI-controllable overdrives, but this was the first one that seemed reasonable to me in that regard. Now, the fact is, it's great at that, and as Henning shows, it sounds great, but what I was most surprised by in the first hour with it was just how easy it was to use. I mean, you see 6 knobs, and think, hmmm, looks a bit complicated, but seriously, after a short time, I found the design to be extremely intuitive. A delight to play with, really.

    Yes! Best articulation of the message of this beautiful unit.

    Had it for a month now and absolutely loving it. Everything on flat seems to really add clarity, but love that crunch when digging in a note.. Perfect for when your valves are 'too clean' because of 'neighbour friendly' volume levels.. Plus using pre and post tone makes huge differences.
    I swapped out the mx5 for the ge300 and it loves it too.🙃

    For someone with a midi controlled pedalboard, this might be a good investment. Can't believe henning made me less of a hater...

    Dear Lord, the versatility. And it's analog AND midi? Buying it.

  • @MrX-tv7mh
    @MrX-tv7mh ปีที่แล้ว

    Gonna have this when they're in stock later in Jan. This will go into DSM Humbolt simplifier deluxe to keep all drive section analog, then into valve amp.. loop return into Headrush MX5 for stereo fx/filter/delays etc, then back into FOH/stereo monitors.
    Totally shrunk pedalboard to Carry-on size.. Saves on a separate board for tube screamer. clean boost. Transparent gain/distortion. etc.= one happy spine :)

    Cool - being norwegian, it's cool to hear a new version of "Stage Dolls" with original vocals - brining back memories from my youth! Cool demo of a nice pdal also ;-)

    What is impressing me most is that you’re just turning the knobs & Each Time a very usable sound comes out👍

  • @CorNigrum

    So this could also be used as a midi-controlled EQ pedal without using it as a typical boost or overdrive... Pretty versatile as a general tool.

    • @emulgatorx
      @emulgatorx ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're fine with just a mid control and a tone filter. It would have been nice if they added a 3-band eq, but I guess they didn't want to have 20 knobs on it.

    • @CorNigrum
      @CorNigrum ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be some sort of tilt EQ. If this sells as well as it seems to be doing, I'm sure they have some other ideas lined up.

    I really dig the intro song. Great playing. Very laid back feel. I have a channel where I document my process of learning to play in the studio and create a studio. One of these would be very versatile

    Hello Mr. Henning, This is Dennis from Tulsa, Ok. I just wanted to let you know I had a hard time finding your channel. I feel like I know you. I guess from the work you have done with "CGS MIKE" and 42 gear street. Any way now that I have found you I can support your channel. I really enjoyed the Demo you did on the Harley Benton EX-76. I have the EX-76 Classic in Lefty on order now. When I was looking around for TH-cam videos on the guitar you popped up! So that's how I found you. I wanted to comment on that video but I didn't think you would ever see it. You are a really good guitar player and like me you have some cool t-shirts and pullovers. Where do you get those I get most of mine through Wish. I'm poor so I get mine for really cheap from them. Hay, before I go. Did you keep the The EX-76 CLASSIC? MAN! That is a killer guitar and at that price point I had to have it. I'll shut up now. Glad I found you Buddy, till next time, Dennis

    I love the Kernom. I've had mine for a couple weeks now. Very versatile OD. You can match almost any OD tone with it.

    • @musicproductionvideos5019
      @musicproductionvideos5019 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm wondering if it can replace my Blues Driver also? That pedal does something special to the notes... like makes it sing a bit more than others. Hard to describe. Thanks

    • @inspectorgadget6321
      @inspectorgadget6321 ปีที่แล้ว

      @musicproductionvideos5019 I can't tell you for sure man, but it's definitely the most astonishing OD pedal I've ever used. 4 weeks later, and I can get it set to where I can't tell it apart from an original TS808, DS-1, Wampler Tumnus (klon clone). You can get a amazing Plexi sound out of it. It will even do a KoT spot on. It's worth every penny IMO. You can do almost any OD and get the magic of the original pedal. Only magic that isn't there is the placebo of using a specific pedal, which can be very important.

    I like the idea of a pedal that can "clone" other pedals but then you just say "screw it" and adjust the tone to what you actually want.

    Like all 'miracle pedals unless the reviewer puts it permanently on his own board to gig than ...the pedals is just a bullsh@t gimmick. I want to chose a high gain, medium gain and low gain pedal that are highly likely to be different brands so when I play them I don't think I wish this would/could do what I need from it. Or to put it another way one vehicle can not be a Ferrari, a Roles Royce and a Ford F150 Pickup truck when the task at hand requires one of the 3.

    • @emulgatorx
      @emulgatorx ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I guess you could say the same about every pedal because for every reviewer that puts it on their pedalboard, there will be 10 that won't. Different pedals fulfil different needs and Henning clearly said that it's not a miracle pedal. It's just a very versatile overdrive. If you need that, then it's for you. If you have "your" sound that you stick with and found the perfect pedal for it, then it might indeed not be for you.
      Regarding your car analogy, in 99% of the cases, all of them will work. They bring you from A to B. For the remaining 1% of the use cases, you might want to go with a minivan that covers many more options than a Ferrari that only covers one very niche one.

      You can save 128 presets via midi. That should cover your 3 required pedal types. Watch the andertons review where they try and recreate various pedal sounds.
