    Which one of the buttons controls the spouse mute function when they start bitching at you for buying more gear? 🤣😂🤣🤘🤘🤘

    Thanks for mentioning this lovely little unit! I will remember about this option the day my rugged old n obsolete Gordius Little Giant dies.

      @@LeonTodd Yes, indeed! But Xavier doesn't make them anymore. I have had mine for so long now that I'm amazed it has never crapped out on me. I went through three Behringer FCB1010 before the Gordius and each of them died after exactly three years. The Gordius truly rocks. I have found though that when working with non-quantized live-looping the analog pedal inputs of the AxeFxII is faster and more musically accurate. Envelopes follow expression pedal sweeping better over CV than over MIDI.

    Close encounter of the Leon kind!
    How handy would it be to have a few of those switches on a small remote that could be attached to your guitar Leon? Stuck on, not screwed on obviously.

    I think MIDI is one of the greatest programmable softwares ever. The unit looks like it would be particularly useful when connected to something like an HX Stomp. Price $259 ouch! But it is extremely powerful. Thanks

    Cool unit man! I'd love to see how you'd set it up to use with the eq200!! Happy gigging!

    Oh boy, possibilities sound stellar! The relay option would allow me to part with my G Major 2, which alone would make me very happy, without even considering other options it offers :D

    Ok took the leap. Just ordered one of these units through your link. ;-). Hoping I can figure it out. Based on what I’m seeing it will be able to do a lot of what I want. Very excited to get it and give it a go. Thanks for the video brother!!

    This Xsonic airstep would have been nice 9 months ago, before i bought the Nektar Pacer to control my axefx III, software DAWs & plugins, then I upgraded to the RJM Mastermind LT a month ago...!

    Have you tried using it to punch in on the fly in protools? I am curious if there is any type of lag from when you hit the pedal to when it goes record active? This is exactly what I was looking at this controller for.

    Now that's intereting... I guess no problems with the AA, also it's not in the list? To change the AA and H9 at the same time...

    • @LeonTodd

      Might be a good chance to give the AA some airtime in the full demo!

    Leon Todd, Power User. My MIDI foot switch does somewhat work with the daw and can go thru to outboard for added functions via Switchblade GL. Two expression controllers on the X-15 allows me a couple of patch point adjustments, mostly saturation levels, inputs and outputs... BUT what is disappointing me is I can not select plug in values and expression control them. Similar to having a fader on a foot switch. The Airstep is nice, but what we really need is more expression control pedals to be assigned to various functions. Certainly there are those with the familiarity and knowledge to do so, I’m not so adept. My daw doesn’t let me automate the plugin values, much less MIDI control them. Then again, how many people even enjoy using expression pedals, idk. But the ability to remote control with your phone IS a great function, probably with the price of admission alone. Like the way you screen capture phone and PC for video use, you amazing man. This channel rocks.

      Are you using mainstage ? You can control anything in there even vst controls ? You can run multiple expression pedals with midi I/o
      ? Have you seen those ? 😎 expression pedals via usb ?

    • @Eventual420
      @Eventual420 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      christopher short, A quick search on Mainstage, the Apple software for OS X. I’m using PC, FL Studio which lacks the powerful support the Apple environment provides. Probably why I am having difficulty accessing plugin automation features as well. USB Exp pedals, I don’t have enough extra USB ports after external SSD drives holding sample libraries. Could always consolidate there to get the port free. Was interested in MIDI Exp pedals, which are part of my X-15 pedal board, the integration of those into the DAW. FL has upgraded and I should try again, maybe they fixed its function. I’m using a Roland UM-One USB/MIDI cable to get MIDI from the X15 footswitch into the DAW. Was experimenting with the features such as patch changes programmed from the DAW to automate patch change commands, and that was tedious learning, but sound similar to what Mainstage does successfully. Thank you for responding, controlling the PC environment from MIDI has been troublesome for me. ;)

      Solar Guitar Studio
      Get mainstage - £29.00 ! Give it a go
      I use 3 exp pedals over usb to control vst in mainstage
      I have a fishman triple play playing soft synths and also clean guitar through Fm3 in parallel
      Sounds fabulous ?
      I am thinking of going helix rack as the midi in FM3 is aweful ! 😎

    For pretty close to that price point, I think the Morningstar MC8 is a better buy for a few reasons. But the main one is that Airstep has almost no visual feedback. I guess that's ok for musicians who don't mind looking at the app the whole time.
    Here's a comparison of MIDI foot controllers: sound-economix.com/midi-foot-controller-comparison/
    MC8 also has 4 omniports, huge memory of presets (without needing app), along with a big screen ,and a nice app (also can be programmed from computer, unlike Airstep at this point).

    Interesting device. Any sense of how much delay/lag there might be when using the wireless bluetooth feature? Probably as much of a challenge as any other bluetooth midi option?

    Ok. As someone who doesn’t know shit about midi, how do I go about learning to use this?
    I’ll buy it but I need to know that I’ll have some source that will help me understand how to use this to its fullest capabilities.

  • @stolenguitar1988
    @stolenguitar1988 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    With the Axe3, I'm assuming you have to use midi in and out from the pedal if you're wanting to use it?
    Unless you know of some sort of Bluetooth receiver that will plug into the Axefx?

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this example I'm using midi out from the airstep. However, if you have this together with airstep light you can leave the main airstep wired in via midi on your rack or board and then use the lite to wirelessly control all of that.

      Leon Todd ok I will check it out for my FM3. But I’m really clueless with midi. I tried understanding it once but never actually used it. This is def intriguing to me. It’s a small footprint and I can see it right below my FM3 on a board.
