the third painting totally makes the cut, u did great on all of them tho!!!! i love how u interpret each drawing. it's still stylized but in a way that looks even better than the og reference
I love most of your pleinart! But if I have to choose one, day 3 painting is the one that has the strongest impression to me. I think the bouncing orange light gives that sentimental feeling, and you captured it perfectly. This made me want to try pleinart too. Thank you for sharing :)
Man I really should do more landscape art. My fav was your last one tbh the boat just looked so cool. But as an art history student I would like to correct something. Plein air doesn't mean a landscape painting it means painting outside usually in nature. And the ones who made that popular were the impressionists like manet, monet, degau, renoir etc so unless these were drawn outside and not from photos than yea they are plan air but otherwise they are studies which are great for practice!
ty for correcting that. it was bugging me the whole video. they're just landscape paintings, not "en plein air" or even "plein-air". it's like calling a figure drawing a life drawing.
I'm a big advocate for sticking with hard edge shapes and limiting softening them but I was so happy to see you soften the grass in the last piece and add those harder details on top- it really madrle them pop without distracting the rest of the composition from the water ripples and the boat. I loved it a lot!
When I saw your landscape posts on Instagram recently I thought, "omg there's a new video coming soon!" and low and behold you delivered! Loved seeing your process and hearing what you learnt while studying/practicing! As always, thank you for another incredible video
whenever I get artblock I always look at your art, you’re really one of my biggest inspirations when I draw and your colors, textures, and stylization….MWAH
The boat and reflections are great! I think you were rt abt implying more of the bkgrd and let that boat be the star. ⭐️ Love ur work sooo much Jackie!❤
I'm absolutely not into design and I've been binge watching litteraly your entire channel within this day !! I work as a junior film director I find your content so interesting for my cinema work crazy
Your videos about trying to learn and improve on things you are not that confident at makes me want to try it out as well! It's really inspiring 💖🥺 Love all the pieces too!
Thank you so much for this “[something artistically iterative] until I’m a Master” series. Pedagogical GOLD! I’m reminded of that PBS Nova episode on Decoding Da Vinci [I just purchased their book & the follow up book on Salvador Dalí] especially the point that although so few final oils can be attributed to Leonardo, we have REEMS and TOMES of journal and sketchbook studies of his iteration along his path. 📚📓✍️🎨🖼️🥋
( 5:28-6:00 ) I find that when you add lighting with different layer modes (rather than just painting the colours you see), you lose the extra texture get from blending colours on the one layer. I love the way you did it! 🌷
You know, its crazy to think that Jackie doesn’t have extensive experience doing backgrounds, but is able to produce these really GOOD looking pieces. Shows you how much Jackie has honed her observational abilities. Can Jackie or the Viewers confirm this? 😮
I found out about it at the end and I decided no, because I was already committed to MerMay prep and another challenge called tmaynt. Where we do TMNT art all month long. Next year I may but these art challenges are well… challenging so I will have to see how I’m feeling by the end of March next year.

The rake distortion on the beach is awwwwesome! I love this one. It’s a realistic beach. The sand is the star!
U know what’s helped me is watching oil painters like Ian Roberts. The traditional painters helped me improve vastly!
watching you pick colours is *chef's kiss*
Omg I love your music thank u for your comment

@@corylcreates and theres such a big history behind plein air that it's just kinda funny if 'the masters' don't know that.
I truly can't keep my eyes off the beach house painting, the sand with the rocks looks just so stunning and real and dynamic

The one with the tree at the sunset turned out really cool. At the beginning I thought I'd do it another way, but you really nailed it!

I think once you get a hang of doing studies, you can almost recreate anything! Just takes practice observing :)
I really like how you managed to paint the water, the purples help a lot to create a reflection
🙂🥰
The one at 15 minutes is soo good I don’t know what you’re talking about with it looking bad… it looks amazing! I’d be proud ❤️
