The Huawei Car You'll Actually Want - AVATR 11

  • Some cars just leave an impression on you the moment you see them. The AVATR 11 (pronounced one-one) is just such a car. The product of a three-way alliance with CATL, China's battery giant, Changan, one of China's largest car brands, and Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, AVATR is coming to market with style and technology by the bucketload.
    Featuring Huawei Inside, Huawei's Level 3 autonomous tech that covers both highway and city driving, and no fewer than three lidar units, the 11 seemingly has all the ingredients to be just as much substance as style, but is it? Watch on to find out.

      FSD mode will have software bugs and cause accident. Software upgrade every 2-3 years is expensive to get FSD experience.
      FSD mode cannot work if you are in remote area evern GPS cannot work.
      No EV cars can have perfect FSD mode.
      No insurance company dare to insure your EV car with FSD mode.

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @zenlei8258 Being honest, I've tried a lot of these systems now. They're too reactivec rather than proactive for my liking, and as long as you need your hands on the wheel they're pointless for me, I would rather drive myself. If they can get past that they may be worth it but they're not close yet.

      Only people who do not like driving like women like FSD mode. FSD mode only work in dedicated highway with thousands of sensors installed. On other type of roads will cause accident likely.
      Why buy a super EV car with FSD mode ?

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @zenlei8258 In most cities it's hard to enjoy driving at all because of the traffic, on the highway it's hard to enjoy driving because it's boring. For me, FSD-like systems should be reserved to highways and driving in cities should be generally banned or limited to small cars or buses with electric powertrains. It barely makes sense to get in a car these days.

      @ericcklee9284 They say a lot of things. If a government subsidises an industry to improve it and give the country a better standing and more jobs, isn't that good use of taxpayer money? Any subsidies are probably a fraction what the US government squanders on funding the military every single year. The UK government is helping to fund Tata's battery factory. Isn't that subsidising? I know what I'd rather my government put funding towards.

      I had read about this panel but didn't find any way to make something appear there. I think generally it says 'hello' as you get into the car and can be part of a small light show. In theory you could use it to display messages but not sure how easy it is to see since the panel is fairly flat and high up so it would need to be the right conditions for someone to notice it.

During the communist period the Chinese were told to copy a soviet jeep; they did including the dent that was in the fender. It all takes time. I'm with you, ten years ago any car made here was dog shit, just like Korean cars and Skodas were when I was young, but influence from abroad has seeped in, as it did in those places and standards have caught up. Honestly, sit in any Opel or Ford and they're behind what is going on here quality wise. Chances are your phone and laptop are made here and they're fine. Some are certainly ahead of others but now they're nearly all at least on a par with European brands, though there are a couple of very low sales cowboys still out there. The designs though, like you said, can be stunning. Glad you're enjoying the videos.

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @taiwee0404 Well for a start, EV fires are 19 times less frequent than ICE fires, but let's just say for a second that you think Chinese EVs are burning all the time. The ones I see most prominently online are not from a wide variety of brands, in fact they seem to be mostly of one particular vehicle, which is the BYD Tang. Yes, there are videos of others but the vast majority are the Tang, suggesting that particular vehicle has an issue more than most, but the other issue you have is frequency bias. The Chinese EV market is the largest in the world by far, so you'll see more, hence you'll say it's Chinese EVs, despite for example the fire on the ship in Europe being attributed to Mercedes models. In the end, you have a narrative and an agenda, so you'll push it regardless of the bigger picture. I'm not trying to change your mind, I know better than to bother,, but there's the reality.

      @InsideChinaAuto  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@taiwee0404 The agenda is somewhere between an anti-EV agenda and an anti-Chinese EV agenda. They're not hard to spot because they have no nuance, it's blanket statements made with lack of context or an understanding of a bigger picture. If facts are interpreted as condecesion, so be it. I can educate, but being open to listening isn't on me. Now you're trying to single out BYD but you didn't start with that, you went for the blanket 'China EVs' approach and I added context. Meanwhile, BYD seem to be doing quite well all over the world, topping EV sales charts in many countries despite their challenges with the Tang, so it isn't holding them back. Also, they are CCP supported to the extent that governments tend to support all core businesses but they're not state-owned like BAIC, SAIC, FAW, Chang'an, and a couple of others. They've done plenty under their own steam.

Some may point to BYD as having a good record; but it is limited to China; yet one sees many reports of fires; even axles breaking loose from the body of the cars, new cars. I'd say impressions of Chinese reliability are being downed by two things:
      1. China made the world's tat for a long time and 50% of everything made on the planet. When something breaks, which it will with such a large pool and people's tendency to buy cheap stuff, they blame China and associate it with them.
      2. It only takes one video of something bad happening for people to apply that to everything else. One Chinese car fire is every Chinese manufacturer, regardless of whether one brand or one particular car is more to blame than others, and even if less than 0.5% of those made has caught fire.

      @danielpeixotomartins1582 Well, given I worked for Mercedes for 8 years, I'd say that I have some reasonable insight into that, and I'm testing these cars all up against each other so you quickly see which ones are not offering optimum quality. Huawei's role in this car is the lidars, the operating system, and possibly the motors as I believe they're in that game now. The car itself is likely assembled by Changan who know how to make cars but aren't exactly a premium brand, and you see that in the flexible bits of interior trim that I highlighted in the video. The biggest risk for me if you're concerned about Huawei would be the motors as it's not always been their game, however motors are considerably less complex than engines so the risk isn't a deal breaker.

      @@InsideChinaAuto Something an average human in the developed world could buy, without going in debt for a decade like you can get with ICB cars... 12k gets you a decent car even in today's inflation. Here is a simple idea... No fancy gimmicks or entertainment systems, simple knobs and buttons to push for radio and air conditioning, 350km real world range, room for 4 persons and some basic functionality like fold away back seats to expand the room for luggage when needed.
      Great example would be a simple hatchback like the Renault Clio.

      @steveny9972 The lighting on the front doesn't look like any other car out there, and it has really strong crisp surfaces that give it a lot of presence in person. Also having flying buttresses around a slim rear window on a coupe SUV is unseen anywhere else. Sure, the light bar is frequently seen but the overall style of this is unlike anything else. Overall it has a purpose any dynamism unmatched by any other coupe SUVs like the NIO EC7, the Benz and BMW models, it really stands out on the road like not much else.

    Car reviews are just entertainment .. .. nothing more. The be invited by car manufacturers on luxury all expenses paid trips to 'review' their cars you have to never say anything really bad or true about a car but heap wonderful praise upon it. Do the opposite and the car makers will ban you.

      Actually, I had to go to their stand at the Shanghai Auto Show, beg them to let me drive one (I've been asking another of their colleagues for almost a year), paid my own taxi fare to go and collect the car, and my own money to charge it after I used it up, and was specifically asked by my contact to be honest about the car. I've never received a penny for any of my reviews, the most I've had was my flight booked for one car. This channel definitely does not pay the bills yet, not even close. I'm in a full-time job and doing all filming, presenting and editing entirely by myself in my spare time, building the channel from zero. But it's OK, you enjoy your narrative. When you've put the sweat and graft in to build your own thing from zero, come back and we'll talk. Thanks for watching though, I appreciate it.

    Key bridge, remember? Waterproof cars save lives, and EVs can be easily waterproof.
    The American military cannot resist the benefits of electric vehicles. Otherwise, the US soldiers will have to drive internal combustion vehicles to fight the Chinese driving EVs. The power is one reason, the small heat signature is two, easy waterproof is three, the small noise is four, and the small cost is five. The list goes on and on.
    Two things must be considered regarding a war between the US and China since they have already changed warfare: drones and electric vehicles. In these two areas, the US and China are close, and maybe China is slightly ahead of the US.
    For example, an electric tank is practically infrared stealth compared with an internal combustion tank. After all, the tank's engine is a huge heat source and a target. I am quite sure that the Chinese military will drive electric vehicles, if not already.
    Now, BYD makes cars in Mexico. The Mexican police will soon drive electric cars to chase criminals' multimillion-dollar sports cars. As a result, the drug dealers must also drive electric cars. So, military, police, and criminals are driving EVs, men must follow, and only left the old pussies want to drive an internal combustion vehicle.

      Quote a ramble but overall positive about EVs. I don't think a China US war will happen, unless absolutely everyone in power loses every last one of their senses. Might get to Cold War brinkmanship but should stop before anything ridiculous happens. I hope.
