I'm an iPhone user, and an avid one. But lately Samsung has been stepping up their game in a way that would take Apple years to do so. Yes Samsung is ripping the hell out of Apple's products for years, but seriously guys, who fucking cares? Apple steals and everyone steals. At least Sam listens to people's complains and addresses them (e.g. microSD and Battery life).
That was the long version of me saying: I'm done with you Apple.

Apple isn't as great as it used to be. Yes I respect what the company did, and how almost everyone is trying to take something from it. What I want to say is: What Apple is proud of, and always brags about isn't enough in 2016.

+Valentin Burger Just because you don't like Apple doesn't mean you have to create lies about them. I have an iPhone 6s Plus and it's amazing at all three supposed downfalls that you just mentioned. The battery life is insanely good, especially with standby; the display looks amazing even though it's only 1080p (it looks like it's printed on); and the camera is also fantastic. Maybe try to minimize your criticisms if you've never used one.
And no, I'm not an Apple fanboy. I've had Android devices all my life, including over 10 Nexuses, and have an S7 edge on order.
+Richard Gao I'm a Samsung G N5 user but to be onest i like Iphone 6s Plus very much and i'm agree with you , Iphone has a good display i think the only Apple can make good displays that can compete with Amoled made it by Samsung.
Of course i like more my Note 5 than Iphone 6s Plus but Iphone it is a good phone!!!

+Pruthvi Sujeeth Touchwiz isn't the problem, it's the crap they tie to touchwiz to add unnecessary bloat to the device and that secretly take up ram. Such as multi-window, edge stripe, and what not. I just wished Samsung would keep the apps that are downloadable via the Play Store or the Galaxy App Store there so they'd get installed in the download section of the root system to be able to be deleted if not needed anymore.

In low light you just need to adjust the white balance which shouldn´t come as a surprise. I have done that on my S 7 Edge and i don´t have yello tinted pictures because of that. I do however see the oversharpening when using auto and not the pro mode because it gives you full control over the camera like a DSLR camera which is a big thing for me as a hobby photographer. Low light pictures i would say this phone is doing an amazing job i took a shot at night with a few streetlights in the distance it turned out very pretty and even in the darker areas it would have plenty of detail. amazing camera that is just killing every phone on the market.
I have the s7 edge. It's a great phone so far. Would t like to go out without a case though. I installed nova launcher, turned off always on screen and edge features and I'm happy.

The 6s and 6s+ are already beasts with that ridiculously fast processor can only imagine what the 7 will bring to the table and even then the 6 was a perfect phone (no i don't own one) so lets see what they add :)

If you are going to complain about the look of touchwiz, try using the THEME STORE for once. Download Nova launcher, apply marshmallow or stock looking theme and you will have a buttery smooth software experience that is very similar to stock android but with all the great features from Samsung.
he doesn't even talk about how fast the auto focus is and how great the camera is in low light condition. in stead he just said "still yellowish pic in low light"- well guess what YOU can't even see those yellowish light in other smartphones because you can't see anything there
In Korea, GS7 has issues about picture qualities. (I don't know whether it's for all GS7)It distorts straight lines into wavy, curved lines. This problem can be easly noticed when you take a pictures of MS EXCEL. So if you have GS7 or GS7edge, give it a try.

I am more interested about phones after a few months of use, how does it hold up after that? Usually new phones are all fast, however with time a lot of them can get noticeably slower.

I have to agree. I saw this phone at the store today its really beautiful no other words for it. The curved edges are glorious and the phone is butter smooth all around. Just a beautiful specimen.

Still have my Samsung S7. Battery lasts all day and runs and runs. Love my SD card, and with fast charging, great camera, and great display it still runs as good as the day I bought it!!
S6 never got bogged down. You'll say this about the S7 next year now -_-

Great review. I'm an Apple person but man, for the first time I'm really impressed a Samsung phone and for the first time I would consider one when I upgrade sometime later this year. What would keep me from getting it is lack of timely software updates (especially crucial security ones) and the possible lag it could get that people complain about with Android phones.
+Dango Ruiz Don't worry about the 'lag'. It's a stupid stereotype with Androids, unless your getting a cheap android phone (S7 obviously isn't) there isn't going to be any lag. My dad has a S4 and it's wayy faster than my cheaper 250 AUD Moto G 2nd gen.

if your a fan of the note I'd say wait until the note 6 gets announced in September. if you don't think it's for you and you really do want to upgrade then I'd say yes go for the S7.

First one with premium materials? Oh you mean like using the cheapest aluminum to clad your $700 iPhone, yeah that's premium and just recently switching over to 6061 aluminum. As for design, yeah great design having it clad in glass on both sides, you know what was great about those "cheap" plastic phones, scratch the back, get a new one. Can't do that with glass or aluminum. Also better grip on plastic. Yet, say what you will about Samsung products that did in the past rely on plastic shells they still cost nearly $100 more to make per device than an Apple product since they actually use premium parts. They're still more expensive to make than Apple products and a lot of the parts are in house manufactured, where Apple's like a gaudier and crappier dell.

Glad it's not just me. I have a Nexus device and a Samsung device and genuinely like the Samsung one more. I use the features of adds and don't mind the bright happy theme, though I wish they would tone down the notification menu and settings a bit... They looked better back in 4.4

I liked those "cheap plasticky materials"
I always hear it being parroted, plastic = cheap. Strongly disagree! It allows for easy removal of back cover to replace batts and sims, not to mention it makes the phone lighter and more pleasing to hold. Phones these days are not only getting larger, but heavier too because of the glass/metal build.

+Khakimzhan To me that's truly a positive right now. I would only use the port for charging (and connecting to the current Gear VR)... I much prefer having the same connector I use for many other things and which everyone tends to have one of lying around.

I'm an Apple fan and I do think that this is a superb phone. Great design (especially the S7 Edge), great camera, great display, and great performance. I'm quite tempted with this, because starting from S6 Samsung starting to have premium designs that is really close to iPhones, rather than the plasticky design of S5 models and below.
I'll wait for iPhone 7S and Galaxy S9 in 2 more years, to see what it will be. Quite excited!

Can anyone explain to me how a reduced picture resolution isn't that much of a difference from last year's? because this may be a deal breaker for me as the s6's camera is amazing and it wouldn't feel good to take a step back with the s7
Mega Pixel isn't the only thing for a better picture production aperture of the lens matters alot., now DSLR's have a 12-13mp camera but the pictures look far better than it does on any smartphone...
the idea is the aperture or the surface area of the lens in a smartphone is too small to capture enough light resulting in awful lowlight performance! because the concentration of the pixels is denser but deconcentrating the matrix or
lowering the mega pixel count increases the size of the individual pixels therefore capturing more light producing a more accurate image.

2018 and watching this on my s7 edge
I have a question. Why do iPhones get more isolated from the carriers than Android phones? You do not get bloatware from the service carrier if you get an iPhone. Android phones also get the carrier logos, which I do not understand the logic of.
Can you please explain it further? I have been wondering this since I have noticed that Samsung phones could get an AT&T stamp at the back while iPhones are always identical to all iPhones of its model.
Currently have a 2014 Moto X, and before that I had the Galaxy S3. I really didn't care about the S4, S5, or S6 but this S7 is really tempting me to come back to Samsung...
The hardware may be an A+, but the software implementation is a C at best. Unless you change your phone every year, it's not worth it.

Download a different launcher. Unless it's slow updates until the next Android. Otherwise Nexus 6P or iPhone is best for others.
A positive review of an android phone by the iverge?!
The s7 edge has really thick black border lines around the screen. Someone may hate the black line as much as I do, make sure you see the actual phone before buying it. All three colors (black, silver, gold) have this issue. Unlike other phones, the black version usually makes the line invisible. Due to the light and angle, this video did not reveal the issue of the black screen border.
It would make sense to see app notifications on the always on display

What I don't like about every galaxy phone after the s4 is they got rid of the universal OPTIONS button, instead it's switched to the recently used apps button, which on the s4 you just hold down the home button. Also can you change the menu background color? Because on the S4 the menus and message backgrounds are black, sooo much easier on the eyes I hate white backgrounds like the new phones have, im sure it saves plenty of battery too with black backgrounds on white text.
Planning on getting one , any suggestions on the colour guys ?
