I used to trash talk about Android, and my least favorite phone company was Samsung. I thought they made the most generic, uninspired, copycat design phones, and then I bought an S7. Boy things have changed since the early years, Android is so much smoother, inspiring, and user intuitive, and with the hardware and design of the S7, what a match made in heaven. If you have an Apple fanboy praising the phone, you KNOW you have a winner

Same here. Soon imma get this phone. Until a month ago I loved apple (my main email is @icloud), but then I downloaded a beta of iOS10 and I really didn't like it. Android looks like they're better off right now

I thought about switching too... I switched to a galaxy s7!! 100% satisfied... Until 1 month later, my phone started to become slow. And the screen doesn't turn off by its self so I got burn in... So I switched back to my iPhone 6s Plus.

Just got a used from a friend. It definitely holds up well in 2018. Very usable, no battery problems, still lightning quick. I'll be getting an S9+ soon enough, but I couldn't keep using my Axon 7 another couple of months. Love it!

To think the oneplus 3 has 6gb ram and since there's more ram on phones every year so next year there might be 8gb ram on a phone which is as much as my pc.
my laptop has 16gb ram buts it DDR3L while the samsung has DDR4, im not even mad

I bought a black onyx samsung galaxy S7. and i am 100% satisfied. No complains. And we're in the getting to know well stage at the moment, and there are lots of exciting hidden features inside. it is a very good phone. a very classy and elegant smartphone. Samsung did really a great job with the S7. And really fits my hands. But If i want a bigger phone, i will go for the next samsung galaxy note, because i like the S-pen. I wish Samsung will make a smaller Galaxy Note. a 5.5 display.
Is the speaker good?
the speaker is not so bad as what other say.. i like it. .anyway i dont listen to music using the loud speaker. but its very decent when watching youtube. very clear. and you can adjust the sound quality in the Setting. i like the surround, it feels like in the theater.

ok. right decision. make sure you charge the phone first before you open it for testing. test everything. enjoy . make sure you have a case to protect the rear camera lens ang to avoid scratches. , i suggest the Spigen. there are lots of choices.
and make sure you buy S7 with 1 year Samsung warranty. NTC .
Currently looking at other phones since there's no way in hell I'm getting the iPhone 7.

I'm getting my Samsung Galaxy S7 delivered to me on tuesday (Tomorrow) I'm finally upgrading after my 2 year contract with my Galaxy S5 has expired with Sprint. I've been a Samsung user all my life.. I started out with The Epic 4G Touch, and then Galaxy S4 and then the Galaxy S5.. My main concerns are.. Is my upgrade worth it? Is the battery life better? Will I be extremely happy with this device? I'm also not one to use those "new" features the phone comes with.. smart view/smart stay etc etc.. I usually only keep on screen rotation and wifi and that's it.. So can someone explain to me in the best of their abilities if the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be my best option? What is your review of it? Thanks in advance

I'm getting a new phone soon, as my good ol' S3 is almost bitting the dust, but I'm actually more inclined to the Nexus 6P. The design is great, I like the regular updates, and all in all the price is better too. I might even say if money wasn't an issue I'd still go with the 6P.

if you hook this up to a Samsung gear vr it's incredible considering its all powered by the phone. Using it for vr for more than an hour makes it dangerously hot though

Just got the S7, and am looking forward to some good times with it. My LG G3 gave up the ghost on battery life, and camera operation. So the S7 takes over. Mine is the Verizon version. Will be interested to see how it does.

Regarding the screen brightness management you find cumbersome, it can be solved by enabling "auto brightness control" in settings. As simple as that.
Instead of comparing benchmark between the two variants, can you compare the battery life? Normal users don't care about benchmarks. Both phones are very powerful.
We have taken a somewhat closer look at the battery life in Nirave's written review and we plan a major comparison of the battery on both models in the coming weeks :)
+CW C I myself am a heavy user using the new S7 edge and i have yet to run out of battery using it all day from waking up and to going back to sleep it´s usually at 35-45 %. When using the Gear VR it uses a bit more battery which is about 20 % an hour when the screen brightness is turned up to 100% when turned down to 40 % it´s about 12-14% an hour when gaming or watching a movie. Hope this helped you out a bit.
***** nope not at all. The back glass however that has some scratches and has shattered once where i got glass shards all over me.
***** It got fixed pretty quickly and it is now in the LED view cover from Samsung so it´s a bit more protected. The scratches on the back is barely noticeable unless you really polish it (it´s fingerprint magnet) and look under a lot of light you will see them. The button is tough and very scratch resistant and as you said it feels 100x better than the iPhone does. I can only recommend the phone it´s the best i have ever had and ther overall quality is great plus everything Samsung has said about the camera is true it is fantastic at low light and the focus is super quick.

You should get the Gear VR too it´s really cool and in the beginning ver nauseating but after awhile you start to get comfortable with it which is when it´s just a fantastic VR experience. I agree on your opinion on iPads they are laggy and the button is very hard and difficult to press. My mom bought an iPad in january which has caused more troubles than i have ever seen before. She then bought a Samsung galaxy tab s2 which was so much smoother and has significantly decreased the time for all her daily task by 2 hours because it is that much faster. I can only couch for Samsung products except their pc monitors. Are you getting the S7 edge or just the S7? i personally have the edge and i can´t live without the edge features at all.

We've covered that in the written review. To summarise, it has been hidden but can be enabled using ADB and you can still move apps to the sd card :)

I bought this phone new in 2016 & have been using it since then, it's a great phone & still works perfectly fine for my needs. I can probably use it for another couple years, maybe I should replace the batter soon tho. But overall I'm very happy with my S7, I think my next phone will be a pixel that I canp it GrapheneOS onto.

Original Name my iPod 4 takes about 4 seconds to open the settings menu (and that's from a factory reset).
Battery can't be removed? I've had issues that are only resolved by yanking the battery out for a little bit. How does it handle that?

+Alvin Capalad As much as I love Nexus devices, I get the feeling you are missing a few things. touchwiz is no longer laggy, the fingerprint scanner on the front is a good idea, so may as well be a home button, capacitive buttons make sense if you have the room, saves space on the screen, bloatware is at a minimum (unless you get a carrier enabled phone, but you shouldn't anyway) and a of it is personal preference anyway.

Just got it today after my s6 edge bricked (Just two months after payoff........hmmm🤔🤔). Love it so far, feels great and looks good. The glare, at least on the black model is less profound than on the s6 (edge), and it has a super sturdy build quality to it. Comfortable to hold. And while it dies seem heavier, I actually like that. Feels likes better made phone, and you can tell it's there. Several times I thought I lost my s6 edge, only to find it in my pocket......
Camera wise I have taken just one pic so far. It was a selfie in low light. Was delighted to see it had front flash-- interestingly, the screen provided the flash. Made for a good quality photo.
Battery life seems better, but needs much more time to say for sure.
Operates very smoothly throughout the UI, no lags or skips, no sense of wavyness. Smooth as silk. Going between home screens, app drawers, and menus is an absolute breeze.
Expandable storage was a big caveat with the s6 line that has been rectified with the s7/edge(s8, s8+). Why they dropped it with the s6 line I have no idea, but now with expandable storage, one can take videos and pictures more freely and not be as concerned about running low on storage.
IP68 certification is also a major bonus. The s6 line lost waster resistance as well, but the s7 luckily has it. Feel less antsy about the occasional spill now, and dust resistance is great for the system board and charge port integrity.
Very much love this phone, it's what the s6 should have been.

s7all the way. the g5 looks as if it's trying to hard. I'll give them props for a new design but that stupid modular battery is a step back. this would be an unneeded option if lg actually gave the g5 a decent battery for that always on 5.3 inch lcd qhd display. say hello to 2 hours of on screen time for all you poor g5 users. also they did nothing to the camera it's essentially the same last year sensor just a wider secondary back camera Yaay if your into that.

+Richard Shaw LG is the absolute worst company in having them validate the manufactures warranty any defect should be covered but LG refuses to repair and phone & will just send the phone back to you un-repaired with no note or anything. Then you call LG then they say tech says it's not a defect thank you have a nice day.. *click! yet the S7 is made too fragile.. it can break very easily.. it's too fragile.. double glass means double breakable

Swapnil Iqbal Yess!! i bought my s7 yesterday and it is AMAZING! i'm a heavy user and i really tried to get it even warm but nooo ot was cool after all web browsing and gaming and videos... but when i plugged it into the fast charger, then it got warm a little bit. This phone is just perfect. I'm so glad i didn't buy iphone 6s :D

How do you fix the screen sensitivity. It is just way to sensitive. And the bottom back and tab buttons always interfere.

It's great the screen goes down to such a low brightness, more of a plus than a negative.
As it's a screamer in benchmarks and gaming, how is it's video out? does it have video out? would be great to have a few bluetooth controllers and play on the big screen with all that power.
Did you do the Game of Thrones video test?
HDR on Android still hasn't reached iPhone level of quality yet, still shadow boosting while those highlights continue to remain blown out *sigh* BTW it shoots raw too in "Pro Mode", forgot to mention that.
It's a shame they stuck with Micro-usb , I understand with their Gear VR but that just makes the Gear VR right now obsolete in a year once they release phones with usb-c. Also it would have so much more functionality if it actually had usb 3.0-c.
