Off the gray topic....My son had three skull surgeries from 9 months to 17. As a result he has a very thick scar from ear to ear. He would use the Hair fiber product when people messed up his hair cut 😞. He would use the sifter top and it worked great for that situation...need to have the touch tho. It made him feel so confident although he was a swimmer in middle & highs school it was not waterproof. He just turned 21 and I don’t think he really cares anymore...but if you or your child has a large scar on your scalp try that one using the shaker top.
I'm 100 percent gray. I've been coloring my hair since my early 30s so I have tried everything. Revlon Root Erase is best I've used. I use it weekly on my part line and around my face. Every 3 months, I get my roots professionally done and highlights once per year. It's extremely affordable and doesn't seem to impact the health of my hair.
I am 54 weeks into my gray and love it. However, when I did color my hair, I swore by WOW. The only downside-I have thick hair and had to tap and re-tap to get the coverage. I also like Revlon Root Coverup Color-it comes with gloves and it was good for the crown and part.
I love the L’Oréal Spray. I place paper or a cloth near my hair line and spray. I used this a lot when we couldn’t go to our hairdresser. I have the WOW too!
Thanks ,this helps a lot.....I’m 70% gray and have to go lighter and lighter but I’m missing my brown hair .....normally I had to do roots every week...this gives me hope 😘
Oh my word Bobbie I was laughing out loud with the too close to the line... I have grays where you are thinning and I hate it. Hi Ms. Betty it’s 70-85 degrees here in Texas and all my oak trees are blooming and so I have tons of green fuzz looking oak flower. Have a blessed day .
I have used L’Oreal and smudge on scalp with a tissue. Also, works around face, especially hairline in front of ears. Currently I am using Joan Rivers cover up and am liking. I use for grey coverup but also balding spots (on top of head)..Doesn’t cover scalp completely but adds a little color to blend with hair
I’m 55. I get a professional blow out weekly. In between, I take really good care to keep the style fresh. At night, I do a good brushing and put it up on the top of my head with a huge silk scrunchie. In the morning, I shake it out, and pop in some Velcro rollers while I do makeup. I do a little back coming at the crown, and I’m good to go. By day 3, I need some dry shampoo at the crown, by day 5, dry shampoo goes all over my head. Day 6 is probably a pony tail! Day 7 is time for a new blowout!
the toppik is much better when you shake it on instead of using the attachment. that was my go to after i lost most of my hair. i have very few random greys but they’re so annoying.
Thank you Bobbie for sharing this :) Most of the products you used I haven't heard of before. The L'oreal one (crayon type) I will try that one next time. I usually use brown mascara on the temple area where I first notice it's time to cover them up, Lol . I noticed that my hair was thinning around the temple area too :( I don't blow dry my hair anymore, my hair has started to grow back, Yay... my hairdresser even noticed it too :) I really enjoy your video's... you light up my day, thank you ♥
I started using the L’Oreal spray after my stylist recommended it. At first it seemed stiff but I found that if I spray my hair, wait a few minutes, and then gently comb through, it lessens the stiffness.
The Toppik is meant for sparse areas. It actually needs at least some hair strands to grab hold on. The sifter is for application, you shake it on. I have used this and it does a great job. I am very thin on the top of my head due to taking prednisone for my Lupus.
I'm so glad it works for you. I did like it away from my hairline, but I also think I could get better at it the more I used it. You are probably really good at it by now.
I am letting my hair go gray...my hairdresser told me it is silver and looks like my hair is highlighted...I thought ok I can live with that. My hair used to be brown with red highlights as my Mom was a redhead. I think you have gorgeous hair.
That was fun!!, Well I am completely blond now. My beautician talked me into it when I first went to her and she said "what on earth do you have in your hair!!!" It looked like dirt. HA HA I was using toppit heavily. The blond allows the gray/white to come in gradual apposed to lines as it goes off. I'm now still brunet in the back, but upfront the front is white. So I can go 5 weeks between hair color.
I love the L'Oreal Root Cover Up, but it makes my hair feel stiff and dirty. It's actually very hard to find in the stores around here in SW VA. I have to order it off of Amazon.
I didn't brush it through before, so I'll try that. I have the dark blonde, but it's more like a light to medium brown, so I need to get a medium blond which is super hard to find. It must just be really popular around our area. The only color that I've found around our area is dark brown.
Bobbie this topic makes me wish I was a blonde. Might be a little easier. The struggle is real..I use both Color Wow and Loreal Root Spray. Just wish Color Wow was less expensive cause I do like it. Its on sale right now at Ulta. So is Everpro Root Spray for $6.99. Which is similar to the Loreal. Thanks for testing these out.
I thought the Toppik looked great! I might try that. My part is getting sparse. I think the reason it didn’t work on your part is your hair is too thick. (Lucky!)

Thank you so much for writing this. That must have been hard to see him go through that. I’m so glad your son is doing better.

I keep hearing that Revlon is good - I'll have to check it out.

Agreed! I don’t like having to tap constantly.
I like the Clairol root touch up powder, it has staying power and is easy to apply!
I love the L’Oréal Spray. I place paper or a cloth near my hair line and spray. I used this a lot when we couldn’t go to our hairdresser. I have the WOW too!
I few have said they like the Revlon one. I think I have to try that.

I am one year into letting my hair gray (silver) in. I love it my hair is healthier! My hair is naturally medium brown. Go for it!
When I am way more gray, I will absolutely consider it. I think a full head of gray/silver/white is stunning!

Haha, this video was fun to do. I love that you keep saying hi to my mom! Thanks for that!

I love the idea of using a tissue to smudge it near the hairline.

That’s so sweet! Thank you! I think a mascara type applicator would work well.
I started using the L’Oreal spray after my stylist recommended it. At first it seemed stiff but I found that if I spray my hair, wait a few minutes, and then gently comb through, it lessens the stiffness.
That's what I do and I don't feel any stiffness!

Well that sound pretty. Think of all the money you will save.

Dirt...that made me laugh! Glad she came up with a work-around for you.
Interesting. Thank you for taking the time for this video. I'm getting to the age I need this... lol. I'm 46.
I really like the tresemme one.
I love the L'Oreal Root Cover Up, but it makes my hair feel stiff and dirty. It's actually very hard to find in the stores around here in SW VA. I have to order it off of Amazon.
I didn’t like the stiffness but found that if I waited a few minutes and then gently combed through it lessened it.
Hmmm, I wonder why it's so hard in your area? I agree with Lorene - brush it out after a few minutes.

I found a great deal on Costco’s website but only on the darker shades. 4 cans for $25!!! Brown, dark brown and black.
The dark colors are all I can find around here. I need a medium blonde. Must be lots of blondes here. 😅
Thanks for the great demo! I hope you are able to return the other products.
No, I used them way too much. I'll give them to a friend to see if they work better for her.
Great info!
Are you supposed to brush your hair after you use the L’Oréal root touch up spray?
I don't think it matters. I like brushing it out so it's doesn't get matted down. I do let it dry before brushing it.
I gently comb through and it helps lessen any stiffness.

Yes...blonde would be easier!
I like the Revlon powder. It doesn't make my scalp itch either.
The other ones make your scalp itch? I didn't have that happen at all. So glad you found one that works for you.
I thought the Toppik looked great! I might try that. My part is getting sparse. I think the reason it didn’t work on your part is your hair is too thick. (Lucky!)
Hmmm, not sure about that, but it did work closer to my hairline. I think I would just need to use it more so I could get used to it.
The root cover up works well but I hate the feeling of it😬
Try brushing it after it dries.
you haven't got much grey hair wonder so I guess these products are goof for the odd grey hairs.
Sadly the Color Wow doesnt cover my gray :(
I did think that no matter what kind is good there may be someone it doesn’t work for. Grey hair is finicky.
@@MindfulMidlife Definitely. I don't have a lot of gray but what I do have is bright silver and hard to cover.
Ditch the hair dye
Truhair is a waste of money. A very disappointing product (both of them).
Agreed but they do have an amazing root lifting cream I love.
@@MindfulMidlife I’m always looking for root volume. I will give it a try. Thank you!
