I would love to make a comparison video of his dialogues at tiefling/goblin party if I had more time. It's amazing how different his behavior is. Also - scary af :) - เกม

Because it's fun? :D Although in this particular case it was mostly scary. He looked like he is this close to strangle my character, jokes aside. It's so different than how he behaves at tieflings party. He says basically the same words, but intonations are all different.
@@nonoialbinoi True. I've only sided with tieflings, so it was fun to watch how he behaves if you do the other route. Actually I wonder if PC's actions will be able to change companions' character, that would be really interesting.

I’m quite weary of him repeating more than once that as a vampire thrall he can be manipulated into servitude by his master in a normal situation. That could end so badly...

Like, perhaps with a high enough stat and a few good rolls, you could somehow find a way to get Cazador's blood to Astarion, free your vampire boyfriend and perhaps persuade him to keep you around, afterwards???

I think when the full game is released we will be able to free him from his master but if we help him become a true vampire, that may end badly. This romance can go either way
@@InaKreka I'm planning to free him, however, something tells me he will betray me, say something along the lines of "You have no idea how much I've suffered to get here" and try to turn me into his obedient puppet or sacrifice me to get his freedom.

I'm on my third character. I just recruited him and Lae'zel and he has so much extra dialogue without the others. Its well worth it. Maybe next character I ignore Astarion...nah never

I too believe he is Chaotic Neutral he has a laugh when you make chaotic shit, like interrupting the ogress and the bearbug, but he actually gets angry or distrustful when you are actually evil bc then you are not that different from Cazador.

I think he only gets angry or distrustful when you are actually evil to him personaly. You can set the rest of the wold on fire and he will laugh. For me indifference to other's suffering to the point where you can laugh at it and enjoy it - is an evil trait. Does he actually disaprove anything evil you can do that's not directed at him personally? Maybe I missed it.
I do believe that he can change. From CE to CN :D

@@nonoialbinoi Well I think Astarion is hard to figure out becouse he himself don't know who he is. After all he just barely retrive freedom to make his own choices after living in hell for 200 years and he jokes or lies to everyone including himself all the time. Probably future content show us more. My guess is that he can redeem himself or go full monster depending on pc action.
@@nonoialbinoi When you sided with tieflings and celebrate after at the party, you can have a dialogue and say he should be celebrating our victory as we saved them. Then he says that we just saved a clan by killing another, so that wasn't heroic, or something along those lines/feeling.
That's either a very neutral thing to say, or a very pacifist thing to say (which is good, but I doubt anyone would put Astarion in the good category).

in some other videos I've seen, he says "what" in a flirtatious tone & smirks after.
If you side with the tieflings (instead of goblins which is "evil" option) instead he is more amused by it.

@@nonoialbinoi he is following YOUR LEAD in this instance, meaning that you slaughtered everyone around you so why shouldn't he? It's more of a revenge thing too. Plus out of his personal conversations I have the vibe that he'll change along the road quite a bit if you'll actually help him with his trauma/push towards being a better person.
Not everything he says is actually true, he loves to joke around. I just... Idk feel like he was more content with victory of tieflings. Even his "what?" About "say please" is so much different. Here he is annoyed and rude even, while there he sounded surprised and amused.

Моей лид следует вся пати, но почему-то наслаждается происходящим ТОЛЬКО Астарион. Лизе строго пофиг, она просто хорни, а Шедоухарт колотит от происходящего так, что она напивается в стельку (и на это очень больно смотреть). Мне кажется, нейтральные персонажи более равнодушные. У Астариона же очень стронк опиньонс насчет происходящего - добрая пати ему противна, "ай хейт ит, итс оуфул". А на злобной он как будто в своей стихии.
Да, я согласна, что на его элайтмент можно будет влиять в ходе сюжета. Но я думаю, что его можно будет от хаотик ивела привести как раз к хаотик нейтральному. В хаотик гуда Астариона я не верю просто совсем и если он вдруг выпрыгнет на меня из-за поворота сюжета я прострелю все шашлыки в округе %)
Разница между его поведением на вечеринках показательная, да, и именно из-за нее я и думаю, что он ивел.

He was always handsome but his current design by Stephanie Chafe is way better than he looks here.. He has a narrower chin, more laugh lines & freckles, his face is a little more gaunt. Just small nuances that make him feel like a real person.

@@yenee94 'Technically' they're all player-sexual. Astarion specifically and canon-wise is pansexual and that has been confirmed by the voice actor. But like in many games everyone is attracted to you whoever you happen to be playing at the time, so it's not that they're bisexual it's at their player-sexual.
