    I think Cain Prime could be a good shout, with him being the king of the Violence layer. Fighting the first human to ever commit the sin of violence and murder another person seems like it’d be very fitting in Ultrakill. V1 going back and fighting the guy who basically fucking invented murder sounds awesome

      Thing is, if at all Cain would be in treachery. The outermost section of layer nine is, after all, named Caina after him for betraying his brother.

    Quick clarification, Hakita NEVER said that he won’t do a Lucifer, devil, heaven fight. The problem with something like Lucifer Prime is that Demons and Angels cannot manifest a Prime Soul. Human souls are quite tenacious without being all that powerful, they can go Prime because they have souls that continue to exist even when their forms are destroyed, but with Demons and Angels it’s a different story. When Gabriel dies, when the council dies, and when Lucifer (a fallen angel) dies, there is nothing after that. They’re inherently magical and supernatural down to the very structure of their body, when that breaks there’s nothing left after that. TL;DR Lucifer Prime cannot happen because Angels physically cannot go Prime

      Jesus is still a candidate
      it was never stated that Jesus lost his physical body after his resurrection.
      he was not on the council despite being gods son and only remnant of god.
      so what happened to him?
      simple he is in treachery for the same reason Minos is, he felt bad for the sinners.

    • @boiyousaywaht373
      @boiyousaywaht373 ปีที่แล้ว +114

      Jesus personally just doesn’t make sense. Forgive me if I’m wrong about this as I am in no facet of the word Religious, but while Jesus is regarded as the son of god, isn’t he also one with God and God is one with him? God has left in the Ultrakill universe, you can’t just leave yourself, so the idea of Jesus still being around while God is gone while both of them being one in the same doesn’t sit right. But Ultrakill still takes it’s own creative liberties so who knows, I just personally find that on a thematic, creative, and logical standing Jesus Prime doesn’t fit

    Few things about Prometheus: You could interpret the fire Prometheus gave to humans as a form of knowledge and gives a significant boost in every aspect of talent that benefits from it notably weapons, as weapons get more and more advanced which inevitably caused the creation of Blood-fueled machines to be used in War.
    I honestly think Prometheus could fit in Violence as well because the eagles that were nibbling on his liver would be replaced by harpies instead that are native to the 2nd level of Violence.
    Prometheus would actually be the cause of Free Will on Mankind that God was so pissed about in the Testaments through the fire he gave to Humanity

    • @okkoheinio5139
      @okkoheinio5139 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      that sounds good! integrates ultrakill lore vey well.
      If that were the case, I wonder how the buildup to the fight would go.
      I think he would be in a state of extreme self-loathing, having wanted to help humanity but instead set it on a path of destruction. He still probably wants to defeat V1, be it for the same reason as Gabriel in Heresy, or because he wants to destroy this representation of his mistake, the robots.
      maybe the fire is hellish in origin, and he was led to it by the consciousness of hell, kind of like the story of the fruit of knowledge. That would mean that Hell was pulling the strings from the beginning, which would be a cool reveal. maybe the fire is related to Hell Energy. Also that Hell's consciousness is the origin of free will/was born because there was so much of that fire/hell energy

      I think Prometheus might be too
      conceptually similar to Minos (who’s entire character is around the concept of defying the gods for the sake of morality). The prime two prime souls are extremely different in mentality and actions. So if third prime soul were to ever be added, they would need to a character who has both the overarching theme of defying gods but also have a completely different reason as to why they’re doing it.

    One thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention is Tantalus, he fits in with the other prime by A)being a king and B)being complacent/ a part of some people’s deaths during his rule. Not only that but in Greek mythology he was banished to Tartarus, the deepest and lowest part of the underworld only reserved for the worst of the worst. I’m just saying I would be surprised if we see him in one of the lowest layers or as a prime soul

    • @drpepsi48
      @drpepsi48 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      Seriously, I have no clue why nobody talks about him! Tantalus fits in the most with Minos and Sisyphus, a Greek king who in contrast to Minos’ goodness and Sisyphus’ respectable villainy, was a really bad dude (though neither Minos or Sisyphus were any better in the actual Greek myths to be fair); his crime was feeding his son to the gods, which qualifies for all of the final 3 layers (Violence, Fraud, and Treachery), and like Sisyphus (and Minos to a lesser extent?), he was notably punished in the Underworld/Hell like you said. Now, Tantalus wasn’t known for willpower or beloved by man, but neither Minos or Sisyphus were either, at least until the philosopher Albert Camus famously took a new perspective on Sisyphus as the “indomitable human spirit incarnate” or something like that, Greek Myth Minos is still most known for being cheated on with a literal bull, trapping his Minotaur half-son in the labyrinth and ordering human sacrifices to him, holding the labyrinth’s creator Daedalus hostage, and becoming a judge in the afterlife. My point is Ultrakill changes characterization a lot for the sake of the stories it wants to tell, but even so, Tantalus fits right in thematically with Minos and Sisyphus.

Even regarding everything I’ve said, that is a big if, for all I know Hakita’s got, idk, Shitos Prime set as the last Prime Soul; while I think Tantalus is the most likely candidate out of everyone the fans have proposed, I won’t be surprised or disappointed if I’m wrong, we’ll just have to wait til Act 3 releases to see

    Both Minos and Sisyphus are mentioned in their respective layers (Lust & Greed) in Dante's Inferno. However, Odysseus is also residing in the 8th layer in Dante's Inferno, who was a greec mythology king as well. He's most likely to be the P-3 boss in my opinion.

    • @jeb5066
      @jeb5066 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      Odysseus has my vote too. In The Odyssey, he goes missing after the trojan war, is assumed dead by his people, but is actually trapped on an island with Calypso.
      In The Inferno, he's in the fraud layer for being a manipulator and deceiver who used his power as a king to pursue knowledge and power meant only for God.
      So maybe the fight takes place on an island. The build up could be a boat ride capped off by a fight against 2 Leviathans before you fight a gauntlet where the very map is working to kill you: a *flesh island* that moves and shifts like the cybergrind.
      After you disable the island you have to directly fight a Calypso boss instead of a traditional flesh boss as the last line of defense before Odysseus Prime.

      Keep in mind that the Prime Souls are all in the final layers of each act, even though they have nothing to do with said layers. Minos was involved with Lust since he became the king of that layer after Heaven put him in charge of being its watcher/warden, and didn't believe that the damned should be punished for who they love, within reason. Sisyphus was involved with Greed because it was where he attempted his rebellion against Heaven, and Sisyphus was a greedy, horrible king in life as well.
      If anything, I think the next Prime Soul could be Daedalus, and he could be involved with Violence, since he helped create the machines that genocided Humanity and are now causing chaos in Hell. It would also be a great way to throw in some more lore about the destruction that the machines brought upon their creators, and what better tragedy to base Violence off of than the greatest tragedy of them all: Humanity getting wiped out by their creations. On top of that, we could find him not inside a flesh prison, but instead sitting upon the floor in a prayer position, having repented for what he did and now wishing to destroy the machines, thus filling in the "fulfilled duty" criteria as it would mean he fulfilled his duty of repenting for his sins and accepting the Father's light. It's the only way I can reason V1 having to fight the soul of what is practically its god, its creator.

He's one of the most influential Greek mythological characters, a king, and regularly used trickery to defeat his enemies in often brutal ways (Trojan Horse, the Cyclopes, etc), placing him pretty neatly in Violence or Fraud. I feel violence was mostly focusing on the whole fight between machines and hell, along with the humanity's fall and the machines that outlast them. Fraud might have the answers or even the layer after it. King minos built a city, sisyphus built an army, so what grand strength will the next king bring and what will his personality be. Remember, most of the kings had opposite personalities than the ones in the myths, so expect the opposite from the next prime soul.

    Adam on the other hand, as time passes, is able to know what's happened to the world, heaven and hell, hating not only Heaven for it's cruelness and the Machines for destroying humanity.

    As long as we're throwing out ideas that likely won't come to fruition, and will only serve to make us disappointed by what could have been, here's some of my ideas! (Disclaimer: The first one ISN'T my idea, and they don't really fit the "king" pattern of the other two Prime Sanctums.) I remember reading a comment from "Lil_Ursa" about Adam Prime, the first man. "Even further below Brutus, Cassius, and Judas, he stands alone in Eden (because a boss fight in a flower field is always good), banished to remain in the paradise he desecrated in retaliation against god. He cut down the forbidden tree and killed the snake as they were only created to manipulate Eve. Armed with his axe he’d be like a hack n slash character more than Minos’ fighting game. If Minos was mad imagine the father of mankind’s reaction."
    This idea just excited me.
    Second idea, Dante Prime.
    Dante Alighieri, that is. I have no further justification or elaboration, other then "C'mon dude, it'd be perfect! The author and main character in The Inferno, AND the namesake of Dante from Devil May Cry? What a poetic conclusion! He'd say some shit like 'I have seen all of hell's deepest, darkest, and most depraved layers.' and then he'd pull out two pistols, and start parrying your robo-ass! It'd be badass!"
    Mostly unrelated from prime bosses, I really hope there is SOME kind of encounter with lucifer, cause in the story he's frozen in ice at the very bottom of hell, and the concept of fighting the devil in an ice cavern is too cool to not go anywhere.
    But at the end of the day, it's Hakita's game, and he can do or not do whatever he damn well pleases. And considering we have Ultrakill at all, and just how special this game and its first two acts are, I'd say we're in good hands to trust him with the third, final act and prime sanctum.

    • @maxireigl1919
      @maxireigl1919 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I like to think that in P-3 we will fight Adan and Eve. I think it would make sense for them to be in treachery since they betrayed god by tasting the forbidden fruit and committing the first sin. The fight would begin by having to kill a double flesh prison, that intertwine forming a shape similar to a heart. When ending the prison, two prine Souls fall, Adam and Eve. It would be a double fight, allowing to kill one of the first two, activating the second phase of the other, you know, like Orstein and Smough-. Their attacks would coordinate perfectly and they would end the phrases of each other, They would call you "grandson" as machines are the sons of mankind and they are the fathers of mankind, and they would hate you for killing humanity like Minos did.

    Theory : It might be hell itself for p-3.
    We already know that hell is a living creature from the arg, and probably plays a direct role in the uk universe, as is implied by the minotaur info screen (though the latter part is purely speculation).
    However, there's a problem with this theory: we never got a clear classification of what hell is. As in if it's a demon/angel or something capable of becoming a prime soul.
    Another problem with this theory is the fact that we are already IN hell. You'd be practically fighting/trying to damage a room, which is a negligibly small part of hell.
    Although it is not completely impossible, we're gonna need a LOT of backing for this theory to hold ground.

    Nevermind, It was confirmed by Hakita that the original swordsmachine was the boss in the prelude.
    After some thinking while its not going to be a prime boss but probably will be the boss for 7 - 4, Talos. mainly because it's a robot and it's from Greek mythology. the final boss of limbo and greed was V-2, but since hakita said that V-2 is dead and won't come back it'll probably be a different machine. Also, Talos was powered by Ichor, which is called the blood of the gods, so that could lead to some interesting lore.
    plus I don't think that P-3 will ever be a machine, since as another guy said here. only humans have souls, so machines probably don't have a soul.
    2:58 I believe that’s it going to be the original swordsmachine, because as stated in its terminal entry.
    “The Swordsmachine is quite famous due to its combat prowess and selfmade[sic] form, ugly to most but beautiful to enthusiasts, spawning many copycats.” So, it’s likely that the boss swordsmachine we fought in the prelude was nothing more than a copy. Probably won’t be a prime boss.

    I've actually had a wacky idea for Act III's layers ever since P-2 and 5-S came out
    Violence layer is based on the area you see Gabriel in at the end of Act II, with the starry skies and the forests. The boss of Violence is S1 or S0, standing for Swordsmachine Mark 1 or 0, aka the real og Swordsmachine. S1 is a forest survivalist hunter and after quick section of you beating up a horde of enemies in the trees V1 gets jumped and pinned to a wall by S1 who says some cool line like "Get out of my forest, invasive species." and removes every weapon from V1 except for the feedbacker, the knuckleblaster, and the whiplash. The layer becomes more about movement and gaining new abilities on each of the arms, the Feedbacker can be held down to absorb weak projectiles and when released sends back the force. The Knuckleblaster with single presses gains hellseeds that amplify the explosive force of the punch with each one added, and the Whiplash gains a whirlwind function that lets you spin around the arm like a tornado and shred up enemies while lifting them into the air. Each level ends with a chase from S1 before you manage to get into the terminal, with a cool animation of S1 trying to get through the terminal door but being pushed out before they can get in. (hadn't come up with anything for the climax fight but it'd be some cool shit)
    Since it's DMC inspired the Fraud Climax boss could be called "King Cerberus". First thought I had is that it manipulates all three colors of hell energy that being green, red, and orange/yellow. It juggles three balls of each hell energy constantly. Probably be bigger then normal Cerberus by a huge margin and switches between each variation of hell energy, each one being used beyond what all other hell denizens show capable of with it, doin all sorts of cool stuff. King Cerberus rolls on top of the OG Cerberus ball like a circus clown would. Only thing is that I'm not sure what the other bodily differences would be about King Cerberus, maybe it'd have three heads each one facing away from one another on its neck in a triangle form and having more armor plating along its body that makes it look more like it has three heads in a way. Maybe it'd have the one head but each of its shoulders had armor plates with large faces on them that'd sell the legend of the Cerberus a little more.
    As for P-3 we figured that either Prometheus Prime or Daedalus Prime would be cool, both would have anger against the heavens though Daedalus could have a connection to Minos which would be extra interersting. I lean towards Daedalus Prime since I imagine the Prime Sanctum would be a hellish core where we finally see how Soldier variants of Strays are made as well as how the Flesh Prison/Panopticon was made, all powered by the creativity of Daedalus. He'd also play into ULTRAKILL's themes of humanity and nobody being better then anyone else, as the final prime sanctum would be a man who's creative endeavors were remembered even in death through his Labrynth being a location in Act III maybe. Ik it's a consistent theme that the Prime Souls' kingdoms and people were wronged, scorned, and are now in eternal suffering or ended, but I think that a more uplifting take for the last one would both be surprising and be fitting.

      Another thing is that ultrakill is about that replayabilty and levels and having that core gameplay experiance unshaken. It's a really cool idea with that loosing all your stuff but it doesn't fit with ultrakill. Hakita would just handicap himself by doing all new levels about movement and regaining the actuall fun part of the game.

    I like the Prometheus idea, not only is it in line with the last, 2 prime bosses, all originating from Greek mythology, but also received some form of punishment, Such as Sisyphus's punishment of rolling a boulder up and down a mountain for eternity. It just seems the most plausible when you compare it to the last 3 bosses.

    For some reason I get the impression that the third layer is going to be the final one released. Im not sure why, I alas have not been able to follow the games development outside of a few snippets here and there.
    But if that is the case I imagine we will inevitably face a major machine boss of some kind. Due to some lore drops over this and the previous updates.
    The sanctums themselves seem pretty resolute to revolve around imprisoned kings and the old ways of hell, either before the death of humanity or the rise of the machines. And, between Sisiphus and Minos I can only imagine it will be another greek king of cautionary renown. Maybe someone like Midas if we're going off of the famous bad kings.
    If fraud does become its own layer though I almost hope they do a satire on micro transactions using our ingame points (because lets be fair anyone whos been playing this game since release has a ton by now). Greed and such would be fitting here to. So yeah Im putting my bets on Midas for Sanctum boss 3. ^_^

    Because a massive lore dump (which occured in an arg after P-2 dropped) confirmed that Hell is one massive entity, making use of the souls it tortures and making them into an army of destruction. It would be badass for us to take out Hell from the inside out, then fleeing through all the rings and watching as it collapses.

  • @Minebot45
    @Minebot45 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Since the final layer is Treachery, whoever the third Prime Soul is would likely be someone who had committed a great act of betrayal. With that in mind, here are my guesses as to who it might be:
    * Adam, the first man, who had betrayed God's trust through his consumption of the forbidden fruit. And if that's the case, he could also be a dual boss alongside Eve.
    * Judas, who betrayed Jesus Christ by selling him out to the Romans for 33 pieces of silver. I picture him having an attack that uses those pieces of silver, which you could use for ricoshots just like the Marksman's coins.
    * Prometheus, who betrayed the gods by stealing their fire and giving it to humanity, and must now endure having his liver mutilated daily while chained to a boulder. Perhaps in the context of Ultrakill, the "fire" that was stolen could be information on how to win the war that Sisyphus couldn't (albeit information made redundant with V1's arrival and Gabriel killing the Council), and his boss fight could entail using those chains as whips (which cannot be parried while they're on fire, natch).
    If you have your own ideas, do tell in the replies; I'd love to hear what you think will happen.

    • @epicutmmgamer5366

    while i know that it would be stupid, im kinda hoping the p-3 will have god as the prime soul, but rather then him being killed and trying to reform himself like most prime souls do, he was tricked into willingly dying by the council of heaven, with him being in treachery not because he was a traitor, but because he was betrayed. or him viewing himself as a traitor because he failed his creations and believes he betrayed their trust.
    it would also kinda fits with the conventions of the other prime souls with him being a king and him letting all of humanity die while he was still around.
    but its probably just gonna be like judas or adam if im being honest

    The two first prime bosses were greek kings and Minos was mentionned in Dante's inferno as ruler of the lust layer.
    In the greed layer, the souls are rolling boulders for ever, implying Sysiphus.
    If we follow that pattern, the P3 boss could be Theseus (in violence) or Ulisses (in treachery).
    As for the Satan boss fight, I think that Gabriel already plays the role of the fallen angel. He literally betrayed heaven. so He will be the final boss I think.

    Honestly I think it's Ixion. He was a greek mythology king (check #1), where he killed Eioneus, the father of Dia, in which he promised to marry her, to avoid paying for bridal gifts, then plain out doing away with Eioneus (check #2, a big crime). Zeus, for reasons known only to himself, took pity on Ixion and offered to absolve him of his guilty crime with a dinner invite to Mt. Olympus thrown in. HOWEVER, Ixion had wronged Zeus almost DIRECTLY by flirting with Hera, Zeus's wife, and then fucking the cloud clone that Zeus made of her, then boasting in the mortal world that he slept with Hera (big fat check #3). Because of this, Ixion was punished by Zeus to forever be spinning on a fiery wheel in Hades.
    I feel theres a CHANCE at it being Ixion. Give me your thoughts

      I'm personally hoping for Agamemnon or Ixion (who was the first kin-slayer in greek mythology, and would later betray the gods when they gave him the benefit of the doubt for killing his father in law). Agamemnon could easily go into any of the last three layers of Violence, Fraud, and Treachery, and Ixion fits the bill for Violence and Treachery. I don't see Midas being an option as a prime soul here, as his main myth involved his obsession with gold, which would have put him in Greed. Odysseus and Tantalus are two other good options, but I'd prefer the first two, as they are lesser known and have much more potential to be interesting IMO.

    My thoughts dumped all into one place:
    I'm actually hoping the final "normal" level won't just be the Gabriel rematch - though it would undoubtably fit the theme. I just think the game's finale should tie together some of the lesser known lore Hakita has built up. Hell is canonically alive, an organism with a will of its own - as are the terminals. Maybe the end of layer 9 will involve V1 reaching the very core of hell itself, finally killing it and ending life in hell just as life in the "normal" world perished preceding the events of the game.
    Maybe even the terminal(s) will put up an active fight? There is no more entertainment to be had, they now need to put themselves on the line. On that note: The final level of the game shouldn't be able to have an exit room like the ones we're used to. There's no deeper place to go, no place that last ending tunnel could lead to.
    Maybe Gabriel serves less as a judge/lord of hell at this point. So far, Gabriel has been the one to punish denizens of hell for rising up against heaven. Now that he himself has done the same, disrupting all order that heaven had, he makes his last stand as a desparate guardian. Protecting the shred of life hell has left in its midst, he realizes there is no one to stop you if not him. Heaven is dead after all, so hell seems like the only thing left to fight for.
    As for P-3: I'm hoping for an absolutely BRUTAL gauntlet at first - P-2 was, gameplay-wise, tons more enjoyable than P-1. This could have old and new bosses alike along the way, no matter. As for the boss? Not sure. I don't much know the mythology to back this up, but.. what about theseus? He betrayed Minos's daughter, so he could probably be connected into the story somehow.
    Now that I've written this though, I'm hoping P-3 will break the chain of Prime Sanctums being lore irrelevant. I'm hoping P-3 will be the fight against hell itself, with everything else just trying to keep it alive, and then the last normal level would complete Gabriel's insurrection, with leftover angels storming and swarming hell. P-3 would have to take place after this: you and the angels both rush towards hall's core, them to protect it, you to kill it. Gabriel is dead by now, so the angels are just trying to mitigate the damage you've caused by this point. And in the end, you could basically say MANKIND IS DEAD - BLOOD IS FUEL - HELL IS DEAD.
    yeah idk

    There are a couple things i want to comment on about the prime levels, I noticed a weird theme that could connect P-1,P-2 and P-3. With that theme being servitude, Minos wants to serve others for the sake of others wellbeing(he himself didn’t need it), Sisyphus wants to serve others for the sake of the self (Mutual wellbeing), so i think P-3 will either show a character who takes from others out of their own need or own desire. This makes me think that P-3 could be a false profit made to mislead or guise others under the illusion of gods ways. Making me think it could either be St. Peter or Samson for disavowing god’s commands. There are a couple other ideas that I have of potential candidates for P-3 but those two are my favorites.
