Glad to see you recommending Meeden supplies also Tammy. I use their paper almost every day now, and with all three textures available in three sizes it’s ideal for beginners. Thanks for the tree ideas.
Yes! Their paper is amazing. Someone commented on yesterday’s video that you recommend them also. By the way, a long time ago I did your cute watercolor birds and loved them ☺️
I recently took up watercolour painting a few months ago and bought the meeden "starter kit" -paint, brushes, palette and paper for a really good price on Amazon so was so pleased to see you using them in this video. I came across your channel a few days ago and just wanted to say thank you for your way of teaching - you are so calm, informative and easy to follow for a beginner. I've just done the trees and have loved painting or should I say playing!!! They look amazing and will be made into cards. I'm going to busy catching up on your other videos! Thank you again. Simone from England.
Simone thank you so much! So glad you are enjoying yourself on my channel. Meeden products are so nice for beginners! I was using chalky paint as a beginner, i just didn’t know😅
What you say is so sweet. I have a little 6year old artist with me and we followed painitng with you. She got so excited that your were making cards as we were.
Everytime you said to relax and breathe I noticed I was tense. I can't thank you enough for the relaxation and encouragement. Love the reminder to be in the moment and have fun. ❤❤❤By the way this was the first Christmas tree I've done that I liked!❤❤❤ I will paint with you again. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤️
Woo hoo Jaymee! So glad to hear that you are starting to recognize your body tension. And glad that the reminders helped. And that you loved your Christmas tree! So glad to have you here.
Brand new to this. We are empty nesters and decided to add this to our journey. Thank you for sharing. my goal is to make Christmas tree cards for all our Military folks near and far. I will go check out your supply list.
Welcome to the watercolor world! I am so excited you are here. It’s so wonderful to start a new journey as life changes. I love your idea for making the Christmas tree cards! Please let me know if you have any questions?
Thank you Tammy Kaye, you are such an inspiration. I only recently took up painting and you have given me the confidence to try new techniques. I enjoy a little time for me, first thing in the morning whilst everyone else is asleep, I do something that puts a smile on my face to start the day x
Thanks so much! Your tutorial is like meditation! And the xmas trees are so lovely. Today I drew them and feel so proud of myself, my 4 and 13 year old daughters loved it.
these are fun. What a great idea for cards for Christmas or any time of year really. I made something similar a few years ago and cut them small enough to hang on the tree. They were well received. I do forget how fun it can be to just make things simple and fun. I really love the pink in the tree, that was amazing.
Mud pies, I can identify with. 😂. I love how you make everything look so easy. Thank you for your videos and for your encouraging words too! I love your Christmas trees.
Hello Tammy....simple yet really beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Sometimes I use a bit of aqua bronze powder mixed with a small amount of water to add sparkle to my painted trees. A little goes a long way!
This is a great video, thank you. I learned that I need to use a brush that makes that pear shaped more effortlessly than the one I am using that creates a feathered effect at the end of the stroke. I'll test other brushes before I do the red parts. I like picking up on new things to learn in the process. You make it look easy, as many artists on YT do, but this is one I felt less stress doing! It might be because of how often you reminded us to have fun and enjoy ourselves.😊 Thank you!🎄
Thanks Nicole! I’m glad you liked the video. Yes some brushes don’t have a nice pointed tip and you described the feathery look quite well with cheaper brushes.
Hi Tammy! I'm Irene and I'm new to this channel. I have recently gotten into painting and seen your art on Instagram and they're really nice! I don't have watercolor, though, so I wonder if acrylic would work instead? Looking forward to creating art!
Hi and welcome! I’m so sorry I never got back to you. I remember seeing this message and forgot. Yes, acrylic will work! Just add water to it and it will be transparent enough ☺️
The more you guys talk about not stressing the more we’re stressed!!! Please stop chatting about not stressing. Your nonstop chatting is not conducive to going into right brain and relaxing. The creative mind needs quiet. Period

That was one of my favorite parts! “Just remember when you were a little kid” actually made me emotional. Different things work for different people 💜
