@Arise Again Nolan North voices Ghost and also Cayde but only in the Forsaken campaign. Nathan Fillion, the original voice of Cayde-6, has confirmed he is coming back to Destiny in The Final Shape.

This trailer has the vibe of D1, the slow flowy movement, and the simple but epic orchestral background music that swells at certain points gives me intense nostalgia. This is different than the usual action packed movie trailer stuff, it's amazing.

Destiny trailers have always been so well made. I wish the expansions were too.
They are, they don’t just consist of the primary campaign, they consist of all the seasonal content too.

@@atharvaarjunwadkar6196I kind of disagree with Deep being average. I think it was above average, especially if we compare it to some of the lower tier seasons, like Undying and Worthy. It's no Arrivals or even Dawn for that matter, or Chosen. But, it's got some great story beats. I'm looking forward to the next season after the end of the season reveal, honestly.
Also, Taken King, Rise of Iron, Forsaken, and Witch Queen where all well made expansions.

Ace of Spades is probably one of, if not the, most famous weapon in video game history.
Um, not to be that guy but I’m going to be that guy. Revolvers don’t chamber rounds. He simply just clicked the cylinder into place. “Chambering” on a revolver is whats called reloaded. To chamber it would be ejecting a casing with a bolt carrier group slamming a new bullet into the chamber. Thats called a single chamber system. Revolvers are multi “chamber” its still called a chamber where the ammo sits in the cylinder but theres no sound of chambering like youre talking about as the chambering is done during reload

I wonder if guardians killed in the line of duty are taken by the Gardener and used in the flower game like chess pieces. Might explain another reason as to why we had visions in the Red War, and returned to life, since our job wasn’t done yet. The Gardner was saving us for bigger things.

I teared up as my husband showed me this, cayde is one of my favorite characters and being a hunter myself this is even better!
The little destiny theme towards the end of the trailer never fails to give me chills, takes me back to the main menu of the first Destiny
God, it sounds so good.
It might be the menu theme for Final Shape. All the final themes in previews for a new expansion typically show up in the new start screen.

When I saw this trailer a few minutes ago while getting changed out of my gym clothes, as soon as Cayde appeared I gave that same look I’d give to a childhood friend I haven’t seen in years.

As a Hunter, it feels good to see a legend return, though I feel it may be temporary, or he'll be the sort of vendor character for wherever we'll be in the next expansion.

Is it really Nathan's voice or computer generated? They used the same thing for Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader last year. We all miss Lance Reddick & I wish he'd never gotten any of those evil jabs. I met him at Seattle Comic Con years ago before I began playing Destiny and he was such an incredibly nice man. If Bungie uses the computer generated voice for Zavala in the future I hope his family gets royalties.
Literally they knew they couldn't do anything with just Ikora, so they had to put cause back to fix it.
Honestly I stopped playing d2 bc he was gone. But now he coming back, I think Bungie made the right choice.

@@Miwhe traveller can't bring anybody back or create ghosts anymore after the witness opened that portal. Even your ghost mentioned it lost its connection to the traveller but not the light so that's out of the question.
I'm guessing it'll have something to do with a later season, probably going back to Europa somewhere with deepstone.
That definitely gave me chills seeing Cayde coming back and all glowing makes me wonder if this is heaven or limbo for Guardians who had a final death.

Man this is harder to know Lance is gone, and I really want to see an reaction of both Zavala and Cayde seeing each other again.
That's the thing way she's sad and catching him up means we lose zavala early on. They don't get to see each other again possibly.
It's possible Lance recorded lines before this trailer dropped. Typically voice work is the first stuff to get done, VA's don't normally get to see the finished product of their recording for MONTHS if not a year plus after the initial sessions. Hold hope, Gaurdian.
I mean, there's a good chance that Zavala will have a new VA, especially if he was going to be important for the upcoming story
They might already have it recorded. They do a lot of that stuff in advance.

Since this is Final shape I get the feeling Cayde Will be the vendor of Final Shape. And we most likely Only meet him there (same way we Only met the Cloudstriders when we entered Neomuna)
Not to be a downer....but I really don't think we'll get a satisfying ending. Bungie has not been doing a great job telling these stories or answering any of these questions.
@@MisterButterfingers Who knows? Yes Lightfall's story was hella underwhelming, but Witch Queen was amazing IMO. Shadowkeep was mid but Forsaken was great. We'll just have to see, they can pull this off if done right.

I remember thinking they were farming nostalgia and this would be another crap dlc like lightfall. Man I'm so glad I was proven wrong. The story, raid, and visuals are phenomenal, peak destiny, one of the best to exist in the franchise.

This may get me back into Destiny if my schedule allows. I felt like we strayed so far from what this franchise was supposed to be this past year. But I am glad to see someone so iconic return.

We hate that it is horribly unbalanced, they cut much of the most fun content, they try to hype people up by bringing back things we already paid for, and they are half-assing the seasonal stories (ESPECIALLY LAST SEASON.) This game has been steadily rolling off a cliff for the last two years and to say otherwise is just ignorant. Maybe you still like the game and that's good for you, I am happy that you get joy from it but the reality is that Bungie does not care anymore. They are in it for the money and nothing else, there is no passion anymore. Even with this new year on the way this first trailer shows that they will be relying on gimmicks again instead of anything with substance.
There is so much more wrong with it beyond the small amount that I listed as well.
Game is dead
It's sad, that Ikora is practically alone as of now due to the sad death of Lance and also Cayde in forsaken. But to see Cayde once again makes me tear up, wondering how will they bring him back too through the season or they will bring him back in the expansion itself.
At this point, I think the light meditations are just an excuse to talk to someone. It’s like therapy, if your therapist was getting paid in elemental knowledge.

As a proud hunter main who aspired to even just the little bit of badass he was, I can't express how happy it is to see him back again😭
I've been playing destiny since the beginning in 2014 (I was 15 years old). The memories that flooded my mind when I heard Cayde-6's voice brought me so much joy. I'm currently bracing myself for what more than likely will be the spectacular end for Zavala, but I'm now INCREDIBLY excited now that our long lost hunter vanguard is returning. Whether you're a hunter, titan or warlock main, Cayde-6 always has a special place in all destiny fans hearts. Great job Bungie, please make this nearly a decade long journey worth the while as we get closer to the end of the Light vs. Dark saga!
Speak for yourself. Cayde had zero personality until they gave him some minor personality in The Taken King. And he was a caricature of himself in D2.

Genuinely made me tear up aha. These past 10 years I’ve moved house, changed jobs, suffered losses, got a dog, but Destiny has always been a constant, ever since day 1 beta. Watching this game evolve and its story unfold over the decade has been a true pleasure.
THIS this is how i felt watching the trailer it brought me back so many years. I've moved across the country gotten married found a place in life and now i get to look back on it all. through the good and the bad ive always played destiny. Sure I have taken breaks for a season or 2 but ive always come back.

I started at the beta too. But I stopped playing when Destiny 2 launched. I started Destiny 2 a couple weeks ago. I hate that I missed the Red War and the other stuff that was taken out of the game but I still have a lot of content to catch up on.
The fact they brought Nathan Fillion back to voice him as well really makes me happy
I hope there’s an easter egg where if you use Ace as an active weapon, Cayde will comment on it, or compliment you on your weapon choice, like
“Hey, nice gun ya got there, Guardian! I got one just like it!”

I started playing after forsaken. It was half a year before I played forsaken and in that time Cayde grew into my favorite character across any franchise. I was devastated. I am so excited to play a game with my favorite character alive in it.
Hate to be a party pooper but it seems like he's going to be temporary. His eyes are spectral white, whereas every other exo has cyan eyes that somewhat match Ghost's. Banshee, Exo Stranger, even Cayde-6 pre-death. Very weird and I can't wait to see the lore behind this.

I think this is somewhat similar to a spiritual body like in some cultures, basucally his light is kept alive by the memories of people in the tower via his memorial. It definitely would be cool without making his death useless and pointless

5 or so years ago, I picked up Loaded Question. Soon, I'll finally see Cayde around, and finally have my chance to tell him his gun's ready.
Bro my mom knocked on my door at like 11 PM to show me this and it made my entire week. When Cayde died I was actually so upset, tbf I grew up watching my parents play destiny and cayde was my favorite character. So seeing this I am genuinely so so happy. Very excited to see how this turns out.

So excited! Everything these 9-10 years has been leading to this. What a journey. I wasn’t expecting a Final Shape teaser so soon, and I certainly wasn’t expecting the return of the Legend Cayde. Looks like Final Shape will be quite interesting, we’ll see where these Lightfall Seasons lead us.
It’s too bad we may not have much of Lance to finish it with us however.
He was a legend so enjoy him while we can we only have these few seasons left then it’s just nothing new but memories

He was in most of D2 as well and had the best stories/dialogues(you could hear him during most of the missions), until Bungie decided to vault everything so no one can play them. FOMO at it's highest

@@justinknight3068 The veil or whatever isnt connected to the portal this time, so I think we're inside? Maybe we'll see revisits of dead characters that help us through the story, as in like their "light" has returned to the traveller or whatever and thats whats inside.
