Today we find ourselves walking over muddy fields and rocky paths to explore this abandoned house with everything left behind. The passion of Mr Trebor was books, So much so that he started selling books worldwide, his obsession led to his home been taken over with thousands of Books some of which are rare and collectable.
Unfortunately the world of E-books took over and found himself very quickly out of business! His dreams for having walkers coming by to read and purchase his collection very quickly disappeared.
The building itself was built in mid 1700s and added too over the years to the final part which was built in mid 1800s.
We are still trying to find out what became of Mr Trebor and soon as we do I will post an update.

This is a fantastic place which is actually steeped in local history, I've explored here a few times, he was book dealer with a shop in the local town many years ago, his website is still up but not active for years, unsure why you went through the window though as the door is open lol also yes the local farm comes up daily and has access to the property I know as I nearly got caught but my ninja skills won that day! Cool place but last time I was in there taking pics i could feel someone stood literally right behind me as if almost leaning on me 😱 definitely got some funky vibes in there especially the living room.. Great vid/explore. Just subscribed 👌

It turns out Disney was not a good person. Disney Land and Disney World stocks are crashing. No child should be exposed to them. Very sad.

Such a waste to see all those books left to rot like that. Can't you call a charity and get them to collect the books so others can enjoy reading them and maybe tell the local council about the house so it can be taken care of and sold to someone who can use it so it is not left to decay to ruins?

Yeah; I remember them 'reading' that kids book and estimating the amount there plus the map getting stuck. Wonder what happened to the guy.

Someone needs to save all of those books I swear. I have never seen so many books in one home! And I am so glad to see Markie! I hope you all are doing well. But seriously someone needs to get ahold of the local library or historical society.
I have never seen so many books in one house. It's shame to see them like that as there are probably some real gems there. Why is no one sorting it out ?. There is probably a few hundred quid just in those Haynes car manuals believe it it or not. Anyway, nice one AWE.

I've missed so many videos, I need to get caught up. I lost my Dad in January, still not over that. Plus my Son just got out of the Hospital, he was in a Diabetic Coma for a week. I thought I had a lot of books, but I am in awe that one person could collect so many. I would love to dive into just one room and sort through every book. Great video, Dave!

This is 1crazy house of books I thought a library had loads but the person lived in that house beat a library to it well I suppose he or she would not get board Every book you name it he or she got it I thought u would look in the fridge freezer bet there was books in that I had the pinky and perky books bet there was beno books has well I would have a field day in there it's a wonder u 4 didnt fall through the floor boards when u was up stairs how sad it all will go mouldy like some of em av seen that was 1great video guys that one was worth watching u tell a great story Dave

Wow what a place! I once booked a holiday home in Scotland which when I got there was exactly the same- well nearly, this place is worse to be honest! An Opal rekord is the European version of the Vauxhall Chevette .
With every explore you make it becomes veer clear that there’s so many people around the world who are living/ existing in squalid conditions and very lonely- if only we could help these people.

Great video. Another explorer did this house a good while ago. It is getting worse now. I know explores never take anything, but I had a thought. You seem to be a very caring person who respects the property . No one is going to save this place, and I think when the property looks this bad and will end up in a landfill. Why can’t it be put to good use. I see a lot of expensive things in some houses that have been abandoned. This guy loved books. It was his passion. I’m sure he sold a lot of them. There was a site that just sold books that people on up for sale. I made good money selling my books. Unfortunately eBay purchased it then got rid of it. This man probably lost a lot of money when they stopped it. I thought maybe when a building is crumbling, someone should takes some of them and sell them and donate the money to a charity, like maybe an animal rescue. I would take the ones in plastic. See if he has a section for old books. I would take the mini cars too. Just a thought.

Yey mark is finally back hope all is well?. This find is awesome ... I just had a thought about all the books. The guy that owned this place may have been a library on wheels , as we used to have one here in surrey about 20 year ago for peeps that couldn’t get out often or like traveling, hence why many are bagged/sealed 🤷♀️ just a thought an I may be completely wrong. But Thank you for all your amazing videos guys your awesome and keep goin. I reckon you’d love the old cottage near my dad in Ireland is derelict it’s beautiful . Oh BTW Dave I just read the video comments, and I think I know what happened to Mr.Trebor. Well there are two theories, one is he went into the mint industry, and the other is that he teamed up with 3 other guys and they went around making problems go away.
Someone commented this man had a book store in town. He’s using this house to store his inventory. He may later have sold online. You’re lucky to get out with your life. Books weigh a tremendous amount. The upper floors could have collapsed and crushed all of you. I literally feel suffocated. There’s so much mold, even in plastic I don’t know if good for anyone. Perhaps he had a living space at the store. Really not habitable for anyone. Enjoyed seeing it though.
I doubt this guy was wealthy. This looks more like a decrepit old farmhouse filled with low value books than a millionaire "mansion." The books just look old, not antique or valuable. More like an old guy who bought every used book he came across for decades, then stuck them on a shelf and hoarded them.
The Opel Record was the European equivalent to the vauxhall Carlton The Kadett was the equivalent of the Chevette. The ascona was the euro Cavalier.

Them boots they just be saved I'm sure he would want saved if you could Google his name and find out his history I bet he was a very smart man them books that's in the plastic is probably the older ones. I bet some of them boots can't be replaced see if y'all can help save them
This man was a book addict! Why did he not leave all of his collection of books to a library, schools. So strange that he didn’t safe guard his collection for when he would inevitably pass away? kind of shocking really to see all these thousands of books going to waste. Beginning to think people think they can take their houses and possessions with them into the afterworld…. Total madness! Thanks for your film, you guys n gals rock 🎉 Where’s Spot!? Lol
It appears that he moved most of the furniture to one room or sold it and lived with the books! He sadly surrounded himself with what he cared about BOOKS! Is there no way to find someone who would come in and sort through all of the house and rescue the antique items and books like the book press? Sadly if he lived now with the internet access he could have found a way to sell the items and perhaps put money into the house. By the way I kept looking for heat sources and could only find a few, be safe!
A plant pot on the window sill, still alive! Must be so much moisture in the house!? But incredible the books, that are not in plastic seem alright. I’d love to look through those books! Maybe the book man went senile?, that would be 😢 ironic

Thank you for this explore, amazing amount of books with many in good condition. He would have had a very good business going there at one time, each shelf was named and numbered so he would have probably had a reference in his computer or paper files. Sad though it is, he obviously loved the books he had, and took great care of them as his treasures and income. Many who suffer with mental illness or dementia in middle or old age find comfort in familiar things or objects around them, this develope's into hoarding which there are many types. I was surprised that you never once looked inside the front of any of these books for a publishing date, especially the very old ones in plastic covers. Great to see Mark with you again. I remember seeing this place before and being shocked someone could live in there, it’s even sadder the second time. I still enjoyed watching, it’s insane. I love how you guys were rummaging through the cars & reading Spot 😂 X

This is like time travel. When I was in primary school in the 60's I was awarded 'Tiptoes the mischievous kitten' for good marks I read it over and over again. I dont know what happened to it.
Be very careful of that black mould. It is very dangerous. You should be wearing masks and gloves.
Those books would be an excellent project for a school or scout's and girl guides. They should be sorted into difference categories and dates and a plan should be made to distribute them to preferably a charitable organization to send them to the best destination to preserve them and let someone use them. A classical automobile club would cherish the vehicle guides. The operation could use the owners name to honour his donation and keep his memory alive.
There are many hoarders. In fact there is a series dedicated to people trying to rehabilitate them. If you watch the series where furniture restorers buy, restore and sell furniture and decor you will see that there are eccentric people who fill their whole property with furniture or old motor vehicles and motor bikes. And when these restorers visit them they have a very hard time to buy anything from them. They dont want to sell anything they would rather that the items would rust to pieces than to part with them.
It is strange but recently I was thinking that the few things which I have and consider precious to me would actually mean nothing to me and possibly anyone else when I die. When you talk about these books going into landfill it breaks my heart. Perhaps a few like Ripley's 1984 are not worth much but there are many poor people who would love to have the opportunity to own and read these books. Especially important are the children's books.
I do hope the books will be saved . I recognised some Ladybird books that I had when I was first learning to read in 1970 .

Ten thousand books in there, including classics and best sellers, and these geniuses walk past and don't even take notice. They find a picture book written for 3-year old children, and they can't put it down.
