Something I forgot to mention... your should do laser printouts for the images, because inkjet will smear from the moisture (and check with your local library, a lot of them will print a few pages for free)
Awesome! I hope DT posts more of these type of home upgrade videos in the future. I can think of a couple games that could benefit from this specifically, like Runebound
I've done some more involved things involving making latex molds and casting pieces in resin (for this same game actually, made my own lil' golems)... maybe I'll get around to doing a how to on that too!
Holy crap, legit serendipitous timing. I've been wanting to learn how to do this for the investigators in Arkham Horror. At the moment we use bases to make the investigators' cards standees, but I want to do this so much more. Thanks for the video!
That's a really nice finish! I wonder if you could use clear glue on the paper, and use nail varnish to seal the bottom, so the metal bottom isn't needed!
@@amandapaulk2327 I suspect that would only work if protected from other heavy tokens, that would eventually prise them apart. The glass tokens would also have to be flat, acryllic might be better there, or again, using clear nail varnish to just seal it in.
These are look gorgeous! Thank you for this quick tutorial! My only concern is those made of glass. Can they damage each other in the box if I put a couple of them in a ziplock bag? I mean they will hit each other when the box is moved.

You should pin this so it's at the top. Very crucial.
Amanda, this should be a new series - DIY board game bling. Great idea! Can't wait to try this.
This is a really really great idea for a new series. I hope you have more videos like that. Love this type of creative arts and crafts
This was an awesome video! Thanks for sharing, Amanda! Definitely going to be looking for opportunities to do this in my games :)
I love upgrading components!
i THOROUGHLY approve of the “boops” each time you apply glue 😂
life is better with sound effects :) you should see me at the grocery store (I beep along with the scanner)
Love this!! And the shirt! 🤩🍊
Thanks!
That is so cool!
Awesome 🤩
Very cool. My friend made and gifted me some Scythe encounter tokens using this exact process. Can't wait to play with them!
That’s a good friend!
Cool video ^^
Very cool!!
Ty for the DIY tips. You should do more videos for creating buts and pieces for other games for sure...lots of great money saver tips...

This is mega awesome!
I did a similar thing with the tokens for Lord of the Rings LCG ;
Except I just glued tha actual tokens to the glass beads.
This is so cool, thank you for sharing! I never thought about upgrading the encounter tokens for Scythe. I will have to look into this.
welcome to a glorious new world where you look at game pieces and think... "but what if..."
Nice change of pace from Tom convincing me to spend my retirement on upgrades
Why retire when you could spend your golden years creating handmade game bits?
I made a raised token by putting modge podge over it but I think this would look even slicker!
Modge podge is a good idea too! I’ve also seen people do that technique with resin… so many options!
Cool idea. I might give that a go if I can source the materials easily in New Zealand
You should be able to find cabochon and bezels wherever you find DIY jewelry making things (in the states that’s the big craft stores, or online)
Great shirt Amanda!
thanks!

Thanks for the video!
that would look so cool!
That is really great!! Thanks for sharing.
Very clever idea! :-) My mind is already racing with ideas of which games this would be best used in. heh
would love to see what you end up trying it with!
Very nice! I hope this becomes a series. Thank you.
Super Duper!
That's an awesome idea, thank you! They turn out so neat! Might have to try with the bigger, one inch or so, bead thingies (French word).
cabochon (best said while wearing a beret) :)
That's a really nice finish!

that's an interesting idea! you could also try doing a glass token on both sides making so you can make it double sided

Great tutorial and perfect timing! This weekend I was trying to figure out the best way to make some clue tokens for Rangers of Shadowdeep.
neat, hope they turn out well!
So simple but effective, my first thought was the compasses in lost ruins of arnak
oh yeah, that would look really good!

I've found them to be pretty sturdy, and so far no breaks 🤞
Very Nice. I'm thinking Summoner Wars - hate the tokens that come with that!
good games don't deserve to suffer from bad components :)
Second comment I love this so much. Haha
First reply. 😁
