i recall a weird game that isn't a beat-up up more of a platformer but it was trippy as hell. It's called pandemonium where you were either an insane magic wielding jester that also carried a possessed jester head stick or a underage teen acrobatics wizard which tbh the plot was like a drug trip. like they caused the apocalypses with wishes or something. it even spawned a sequel as weird as that sounds.
I just can't help but feel that the premise of controlling all 3 and being able to switch between them for different tasks sounds a lot like how the Lost Vikings in the Lost Vikings games made by then Silicon and Synapse (Blizzard.)

F-Zero had an arcade cabinet that allowed you to insert your Gamecube memory card and use unlocked drivers from your console. Megaman has several arcade-style games, where it's much closer to a boss rush. They were even adapted into the recent Megaman X and Megaman Zero collections.

The fact that I've played most of these as a kid feels like an insane accomplishment that probably has a lot to do with my current mental health struggles

played the original sonic blast man with my partner back in the 90's.. the moon and crab were both in it. but you could take pictures of your own faces and take it in turns punching each other in the chops.. it was a pad just literally hit it as hard as you can..

Now you can see one more reason PETA sucks so much. They are HYPOCRITES.
Used to play Captain Commando a lot many years back. I usually used Mack the Knife. The thing we really loved about the game was seeing Baby Head get piledrivered. Seeing a huge robot being controlled by a baby where the head should be, being dropped on its head, was just too damn funny.

@@scunts Almost all beat 'em ups from the 90's feels the same to some degree. However, Growl hit the arcade waay before Golden Axe. A lot of beat 'em up games were heavily influenced by Growl's architecture and the utilization of assets that can be used as a weapon.

I'm impressed that there were seven things weirder than the Simpsons beat-em-up, where the final boss is Montgomery Burns in a power armour suit that throws nukes at you.

Growls is an absolute blast from the past. Both arcade and home versions were awesome.
It's like reskinned golden axe asf. This is my first time seeing it.
@@scunts Almost all beat 'em ups from the 90's feels the same to some degree. However, Growl hit the arcade waay before Golden Axe. A lot of beat 'em up games were heavily influenced by Growl's architecture and the utilization of assets that can be used as a weapon.
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs may be strange but honestly it's one of my favorite beat-em-ups ever. First played it in a bowling alley in the 90's and couldn't get enough of it.

It's a little known fact that, if one were to correctly repeat the incantation "DROP DAY-ED YEW SHKUUM!" before having a woman toss a German stielhandgranate, then it will, in fact, produce a gigantic "SHBROOM!" which itself causes rocket launchers to suddenly materialise nearby. 5 points to Hufflepuff.
I'm impressed that there were seven things weirder than the Simpsons beat-em-up, where the final boss is Montgomery Burns in a power armour suit that throws nukes at you.

In the Japanese version of Captain Commando, Ginzu is called Jin, Mack is called Jennety, And Babyhead is called Hoover.
