Well, as one who loved your house in Groton and thought you had lost your mind to leave it, it's time for me to fall on my sword1 I am a kindred spirit! I love your reverence for Sugarwood's land and history and the feeling I get that you and Ben want to be stewards and preservationists for future inhabitants.

I agree.. I thought the house in Groton was just lovely, but Sugarwood is amazing! I also agree that we should be stewards of our homes and our land, since many came before us, and many will be here in the future!

Love the idea for the porch to be a “greenhouse”, I believe a house will tell you how to use it’s space, can’t wait to see the future gardens.❣️

Lovely garden tour! I learned a tip years ago from a fellow gardener, when you look at your garden in spring and you see an area that you would like to plant more bulbs take an empty flower pot ( I save mine from the nursery) dig the hole put the dirt in the pot then place the pot in the hole. In the fall pull the pot out place the bulbs in the hole and then take the soil you saved in the pot and pour it over the bulbs and tamp the soil down. Hope that helps you. I love the idea of an English garden room can’t wait to see your vision . Yay for white bleeding hearts I just planted a few and I have a small moon garden as well. So enjoyable to watch your channel! Happy gardening !

Your videos just make me happy! 🌸 Between our house, yard & my antique booth, I always have a million projects going at once and glad to see there are other ‘kindred spirits’ just like me in this world! In days when I just don’t feel motivated, all I need to do is watch one of your videos & I get recharged once again! You are an inspiration to so many of us!🌸

Your piece of property including the outside of the house is coming along beautifully. What a big yard! We had an acre when I lived in upstate New York, and as a teen I had to mow it. You will get it straightened up the way you want it eventually. Do it slowly and don’t kill yourself working. ENJOY! We love you. Luv mj

When you plant your tomatoes, pick off the lower leaves. Then dig a deep hole. Slightly crack an egg and place it in the bottom of the hole, then place your tomato plant in the hole and cover them all the way up til they are almost to the leaves. This gives them nutrients and allows them to have a stronger root base. We’ve been doing this for several years now and we’ve loved the difference it makes. I don’t know if you wanted the information or maybe you already know this trick, but it was eye opening for me. You have a lovely garden. I absolutely love all the stone walls and raised beds!

Although I loved your previous home I am thrilled for you buying Sugarwood. What a great name. I am binge watching your videos and I’m up to Oct 21. Love your presentation . Show us everything! Take us with you when you dig for treasure on your property. Is there a playlist of “Sugarwood”? I have to keep scrolling back but it’s worth it as I’m trying to look at videos in order. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home and property. You’ve inspired me to rethink my “forever” home simply because I’m 70. May start the search for what I really want.💕

I appreciate how you have nicely integrated the "popular market" plants with the more traditional heirloom varieties. I focused only on the heirloom varieties to support the bees, but found that I needed more color to support my own aesthetic needs. But, I have found it challenging to balance them in an overall design. You do it well because you first identified all of the beds in your yard. This tour was very relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you!

You have good friends sounds like you have a lot of fun out together. A person definitely need different size frogs. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the enclosed porch. I skip around to, but the job does get done eventually 🤷😃. You've done alot so far with the house so glad to see how much you are enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing all your changes.

Greetings, Linda. My inclination would be to de-construct all of the stone walls [assuming they are not cemented together] and re-configure the walls. I would also use the stone to build pedestals for potted plants and
garden statuary... but that's just me. You might find secret messages and hidden treasures in the nooks and crannies of the walls. Would be such a fun [yet labor intensive and time-consuming] project.

Hi Linda - I love your videos and your beautiful gardens! I, too, enjoy digging up old walls and pathways. It’s like being an archeologist. One word of caution, however. It looks as tbough the previous owners planted a fair number of invasive plants such as the lilies of the valley and the vinca. Both of these can choke out native plants and reduce the habitats for native insects, birds and mammals. There are some beautiful native plants that can take their places more harmoniously. It’s just a thought … Keep up your great work!

Stunning video! I never thought about using a frog on top of a container. Thanks for the tip. You have an amazing garden, I can't wait to see in full bloom. Evening thing is so gorgeous!

Thank you Linda, lovely video. I look for frogs and don't seem to find any. I'll keep looking. Lol. Thank you for the great info on the barn find with the stones. Yes please videos on your findings on the property. Keep us posted on your back porch green hoyse as well. That's a perfect spot for such a green spot.
