@Karma-qt4ji literally, I'm a Scot and seeing them beat us actually made me proud, they've come so far in the past few years and are now an exciting team!
Hi Squidge - great video as always. With regard to the individual trophies mentioned in the first few minutes: it would be so great to see you talk about the Raeburn Shield in one of your future videos (or perhaps dedicate a video to it - wink wink). The idea of the Raeburn would be to have a lineal, title-holders trophy that stretches back to the first international in 1871 - similar to New Zealand's Ranfurly Shield. As with the individual trophies within the Rugby Championship, the Raeburn would not create more matches, but does add a level of motivation and prestige to existing matches given that there is even more to play for. The shield does not exist yet, but having someone with your influence give it a mention would hopefully get the ball rolling. Cheers, and keep up the good work.
Top video. People don't realise NZ's peculiar record at Wellington. Lost to the Lions, SA (36-34), drew v SA (16-16), drew v Aus (16-16), lost to Ireland. Think they lost to Argentina in Christchurch
I do worry about the prospect of playing Will Jordan at Fullback, he just isn't up to scratch defensively or in terms of his kicking game, it definitely showed against Australia last year when he spent almost the entire game out of position, it shows in Super Rugby but at those lower levels it doesn't get punished the way it would against a good test side.
Great job 👏 , I would love if you acknowledged the fact that Argentine has 1 semi-pro player on playing against NZ as they are the only tier 1 team with no professional ligue.
TRC and 6 nations is the same. 2nd best trophy. I'd love to see the Boks win it more but I think 4 years of success in the TRC doesn't necessarily mean success at the RWC. So as a South African id take a 3rd RWC in a row easily over 20 years of TRC wins. My opinion
Yeah I think Squidge and co. should/would/could be great for helping to grow the "beautifully ugly" game in America, take it out of the "too hard" basket for up & coming spectators over there. They're probably not short of a dollar to chuck at him for it either. And after that he could go to NASA and teach them how to build rockets!
Rugby championship teams are the most successful in the world cup. So downplaying it's significance is a northern hemisphere way of thinking. The 6 nations is a great tournament but it's completely different from the Rugby championship.
6 nations is way better and way more significant than the rugby championship. That's pretty much a fact. Yes they're the most successful teams in the world, but it's pretty much only in world cups. NZ are the only team that actually show up and perform well consistently outside of world cups. SA have only recently started performing consistently outside of world cups What you said is completely ironic because to a northern hemisphere fan what you said could be considered a southern hemisphere way of thinking This is coming from someone who really likes the rugby championship btw
@@AbeHopwoodrecently? There was a time NZ, S.A and Aus were consistently ranked number 1,2 and 3 year in and year out Aus has fallen from grace in recent years the 6 nations is not better. Look how much better the rugby championship has made Argentina even they made the semi final last year not even Ireland your guys beat team made the semi final
@taraishot100 here's an amazing example for you. Six nations: England:26 Ireland:16 France:18 Italy:0 Scotland:14 Wales:28 The rugby championship: New zealand:20 Australia:4 South Africa:4 Argentina:0 Six nations is way more competitive and is a lot more entertaining. Does it have better teams? At the minute you could argue yes, but historicaly the rugby championship has had better teams I it. But anyway, the six nations is superior because its way more competitive and there's actually some contestion for most titles. Wales especially is way more successful than people think I'm not saying SA or new zealand are bad teams, I'm just saying that their success does not mean the tournament is more exciting. I hate people that say things like "they got an easy pool or they got a lucky draw", but if I'm being completely honest, last year Argentina got a very lucky draw. Their performance against new zealand was a show of that. They even lost to England twice in the same world cup. People also said England got a lucky draw, but I don't agree because they actually did almost beat South africa and at the end of rhe day probably could've beaten South africa, just dropped the bag I the most crucial minutes of that match. England showed up to the important match, Argentina didn't. They were better in the bronze match though, but mainly due to English mistakes. England still won with loads of mistakes though.
@@AbeHopwood Nothing "significant" about watching average teams like Wales Scotland & Italy playing average rugby. Who cares if the results vary when the standard is lower.
Oo Squidge, can ya give us Aussies a break, we're doing our best? Most of us didn't like Falau either but he isn't a reason to continue punishing us...
I agree. Why don't Pumas have the right to play for more trophies.Yes, they don't win all the time when playing the three, but everyone has a right .& the 6 nations trophy hhhmmm what else ....
I'm loving hearing Carreras' name so much in this video. One of my absolute favourite players. Top, top tier for Gloucester. ...not that being top tier for Glos says much at the moment but we take it
Cameron Hanekom is injured. Just saying... Then you have Wiese (not a fan), Roos (not a fan at this level but like him at Stormers), Francke Horn (who seriously deserves a chance, Juarno Augustus (a lot better than most people give him credit for) and Phepsi Buthelezi. Kwagga to me is a bomb squad specialist. I am not going to do the subjective "who's better?" because, well, it's subjective lol. But I will say that there are only a really small handful of players in the Bok camp who have anything close to a certainty of selection. Elrigh was good, so was Dixon. Whether or not they will be rotated to give others an opportunity depends entirely on Rassie and Rassie usually does what none of us expect hahaha.

Kudos to Argentina but I kinda wished Australia played a bit better. A good Australia team is better for Southern Hemisphere rugby.

Nice format for this video 😊👌🏾
So just quickly, both of you gentlemen are good looking, talented in your chosen realms, and good at RUGBY analysis and punditry.
