extremely inefficient. There are no room temp supercapacitors, so just the power it would take to keep those in proper operating ranges would be way too high for the overhead to make it usable in cars. Also, the power it would take to breakdown the water into hydrogen and oxygen would be too high to do this even when attempting to expand the surface area as much as possible through these various methods. Not to mention you would likely have incomplete combustion in the chambers, assuming you could even successfully get it to even do an entire compression cycle. If you had the quality of electrical technology that was small enough and cheap enough to make this concept work you could just use those same technologies to also make an even better regular electric car.
