I do agree with Terranigma and Tales of Phantasia, and especially Ys V
I would throw in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, tho I feel like it’s guaranteed to have a remake both based on legitimate rumours and also based on traditions of what Fire Emblem games get Remade in order
Honestly, I’ve never really gotten into Fire Emblem. Thats why I didn’t list it. But there were several other games I was considering but didn’t make it. In fact I have enough for a part 2 haha
awesome video, shink! mic audio was a bit low though this time around. at least for me. had to raise my volume up quite high just to hear! haha. as far as the video goes, we need to throw in Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776. Fantastic stories that need to be experienced by all (with some quality of life features to boot)!

We already got a remake of Link to the Past. It was called Link Between Worlds and it was an improvement on the original. : P
I'll definitely agree with Chrono Trigger and FF6 since we're talking remakes and not just remasters.
But, if there's 1 RPG that could definitely use the remake treatment, it's Earthbound. I love that RPG, it's quirky and fun but it definitely hasn't aged too well. There are a lot of niggles I'd iron out and get rid of. The inventory space was extremely limited, causing you to have to constantly call your sister up to hold it in storage. Also, the money system made sense, your dad depositing cash into your account. But needing to always have that ATM card meant that you kept it on you at all times, giving you one less item slot to work with. Add in those special items that are needed to progress like the Pencil Eraser (it makes sense in game, I promise) and you're looking at a half dozen things you're keeping in your cramped inventory on the off-chance you need it. If you store it and need it for a dungeon, you have to trek back to town, take out some cash, call your sister to pay to have the delivered to you.
That's the big one. But also some quality of life improvements. Like the bike. You can increase your travel speed by keeping this in your inventory (I promise this is a different issue). But only one person can ride it, so once you get your 2nd party member, it's useless. There's an item called a skip sandwich that makes you run faster but it's only for a short time and it costs money to buy and, again, inventory item. This issue could've been sidestepped by just giving you a tandem bike, allowing your 3 other party members to hop on and ride with you. I get that back attacks happen when the enemy runs into a party member but just increase the size of the bike to accommodate that mechanic.
I wouldn’t say Link Between Worlds was a remake, it was a sequel in the same world. I also agree with your points about Earthbound.
EarthBound remade would be quite the miracle! Also your channel is doing so well, must be that Super Retro Force magic doing wonders 😎
They do help quite a bit for sure. As for earthbound. That remake needs to happen

I’ve only played soul blazer, but I hear illusion of Gaia and Terranigma are a million times better

About that other then Zelda 2 I do NOT count ANY ZELDA game as a JRPG AT all since Zelda 2 is the ONLY one with a EXP gain system the other games don't.
Sadly, Lufia 2 actually did get a remake, on the Nintendo DS. It was called Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals, and it was... okay, but it went action-RPG and meddled with the plot in a few odd ways (by the end of the game, you had access to every party member you'd met along the way, not just the four you'd originally finish the game with.)
(And are we not counting ActRaiser as part of the Quintet canon these days?)
We don’t talk about curse of the sinistrals. I also had no idea about Actraiser being part of the same series
@@Shinky It's a looser connection than, say, the boss from Soulblazer that appears in Illusion of Gaia, but Soulblazer decided to make the unseen god figure above the player character "the Master", which is the name the player character god in ActRaiser is called by, suggesting they're one and the same. Could be coincidence, but since it's another game by Quintet, maybe not?
I think with the remake of Super Mario RPG selling well, Square Enix would be a fool not to remake Chrono Trigger, let’s hope we also get a Final Fantasy VI remake too !

Why did you have to remind me of that bad ending in Tales of Xillia 2? My soul is forever tainted. I can never be clean again. Same with the conquest ending in Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2. I can't... But honestly, what I got out of this video is there's way more JRPGs on the SNES than I knew. Amazing. I would love to see a lot of these games remade so I can play them myself outside of erm... other means. That said. YES. Link to the Past is one of my favorite games ever. Please gib.

In the claymation style? Or would you want it done in a different style?

It was on my list, but then it got replaced with Earthbound! I have so many other games that didn't make the list, I'm probably going to do a part 2 at some point
LTTP is coming only a matter of time. Chrono trigger also tho I do not think that game actually needs a remake and they will 100 percent guaranteed mess it up, just needs a definitive edition.
I just want everything HD-2D and CT would look amazing in that style

About that even the upcoming remake of Dragon quest 3 still doesn't have a release date and that game started out as a NES game and got remade to the SNES Game boy color and is playable on the PS3 PS4 Vita in Japan and on the Switch in English BUT those current versions of DQ3 do NOT have that Dice mini game on it only the SNES and Game boy color version of Dragon Quest 3 do.
Lufia 2 NEEDS a proper port/Remake the DS remake of it is PURE CRAP and isn't even TURNED based at all but the SNES version of Lufia 2 never got ported over to the 3DS/Switch via its E shop and as of a few weeks ago the Servers for the 3DS no LONGER exist so Lufia 2 would need to be ported over to the Switch instead.
