I used to rent Grandia all the time when I was a kid. I remember me and my friends talking on the playground at recess about strategies for the game and how we should tackle the bosses and shit (which is what we did for every game we played back then). Good memories :D Great video btw!
I miss those days
Grandia's always been one of those game series I had meant to check out. It seemed really nice. And games after this is how I found out about Miz as an artist. Even though I never played Grandia III, because of "In the Sky" I wanted to look back at the games. Seeing this review definitely at least helps confirm for me that should I ever want to actually play the series, it'd be well worth it.
Grandia is good. It’s also pretty easy to play. Difficulty is like 4/10

It’s so infuriating, I got jump scared into ambush battles so many times! At least the ambush music is a bop? Haha

Grandia has always been one of my favourite games. Ordered a physical edition for the HD remaster from Limited Run Games that should be arriving during the summer holidays!
I did the same thing! I don’t usually get things from LRG but I couldn’t happen to pass on Grandia
I wanted Final Fantasy 9 for my 13th birthday. It had just released but we couldn't afford it. I would have to pick another game as a gift. I saw Grandia and remembered reading a review on Toonami's website about what a fun RPG it was. I was a fan of pixel art (still am), love RPGs so why not roll the dice on this game? Boy, am I glad we were poor. Because if we were even moderately well off, I would have gotten FF9 and missed out on this gem of a game. It's really fun, and Justin is a fantastic upbeat protagonist that was a breath of fresh air in the late 90s early 2000s when so many leading roles went to angsty heroes who acted too cool to care.
This is absolutely the best second choice ever! And I agree Justin is solid! Such a breath of fresh air when it comes to protagonists

It’s so good! One of my all time faves. Pretty easy but honestly, it doesn’t harm the experience

Great review, and happy this classic is on modern platforms. Tho yeah the HD filtering on the models, I'm not a fan of it either.
Like it doesn’t ruin the game entirely, but I really really miss the pixel art of the original
