"Jak to na wojence ładnie" Is a Polish
song from the January Uprising (2nd January 1863 - 18th June 1864), a collaborative effort of Poles, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Ruthenians, Belarussians and Latvians to regain freedom from the Russian Empire and reunite the lands of the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth, supported by Italian, British, French and Hungarian volunteers
and with logistical support from Britain, France and Austria-Hungary. The uprisings unfortunately failed but served as an inspiration for mass Polish patriotism.
