When I drive down a street to make a video, red robots and the constant traffic is always a problem. There is always a bus or big truck in the way. Sometimes I miss an important monument or famous club or shop.
It is easy to just record what’s ahead of you but sometimes you want to pan your camera left or right to show a shop so you can talk about it and that’s when I sometimes swing my camera vigorously left and right - the video kind of makes you seasick. When there is a boring stretch of road I just fast forward the video clip by 300%. The air con and open windows make a lot of wind noise on the camera mic, so sometimes I have to make voice overs.
The best way to record a road is to only record the whole left side and then record the whole right side, but as I now know, most viewers want to see a road as if they are going to drive it.

This is why Durbanville is the most popular residential area in Cape Town, South Africa.
