More punishment! 🇰🇪 Nairobi Kenya Maasai Market

  • I said how chaotic it was on day one so why am I back? Maybe I like punishment. Not really, I just love culture. Walking through the Maasai Market is like nothing I've seen before. Who wouldn't want to experience as much of this as possible.
    I can't get enough of Kenya. Americans, I keep saying it - add Kenya to the list of places that you must visit. How many times can you visit an all inclusive resort in Mexico. Mexicans, please tell the Americans that it is ok to skip Cancun this year and visit Kenya. Oh and you should too as well :)
    🇺🇸 American in 🇰🇪 Kenya series continues.

    You did better than me. I caved. Maasai Market is not for the weak. I ended up buying useless things that are sitting in my basement for ungodly amounts of cash. I want some paintings, but I don't do well with noise in my ears. You can't even visualize your space with all the noise.

      Well this is day 2 of the market for me so I can roll with it 😊. The downside is that being too aggressive will keep many tourists away. However I loved the artwork but I didn't spend as much time as I wanted because it was hard to relax and shop.

      @@pietrojenkins6901 This is not about saying which is better than another. I happen to be in Kenya so this is the focus of the content. Everyone who watches this channel knows that I have mad love for Kenya and plan on relocating here permanently. Even if we love a place doesn't meant that there aren't be a few things to tweak. Trust me, if I didn't love Kenya and its people, I wouldn't be looking for permanent housing here.

    I'm a kenyan and I feel very uncomfortable watching this video...these guys are scaring away customers yet they think they are husling...there are many tourist who would come and shop here if the harassment was zero. But this kind of struggling is just too much.

    • @RichardDebs
      @RichardDebs  ปีที่แล้ว

      This market is incredible which is why I went back a 2nd day. However if they tone it down just a little the upside to these vendors would be amazing. A little hustling is expected and fun for me. To be clear, I get why the hustle is so strong but just a bit less would gain more business.

      I get that it is tough for some of these vendors and therefore hard to show restraint but I believe that when they are too aggressive that many tourists will stay away. I was told by the airbnb folks not to go there. But I will always support the locals so I went.
