It would be maybe if it was made 15 years ago. Today it will be some no plot nonsense filled with Karens, hipster posers and mainly LGBT+ political mutants, blabbering the time away that have zero f ks to do with any of the original Sims whatsoever. I wouldn't be surprised if the movie wont EVEN be about architecture or building houses since that is the only "gameplay" value in TS4 games and what lets players do in it, since there is nothing to play, even building is somewhat debatable since it have issues, while everything else pointless in these TS4 games. So again the dialogue will be same as probably what AI comes up with where they say too much but a whole lot of nothing really, the result is just dead noise and lies. Waste of energy, time of your life and useless information. So yeah I wish to go back in time and make this PSP plot inspired movie for sure. Today there is no chance for any of this.
I love how The Sims 2 PSP is the secret sequel to the PC version with the same graphics. It's the first Sims game I played and the whole game mood is unmatched. The constant night mode and creepy atmosphere translate very well with Strangetown, even better than the PC rendition. I was 12 yo when I first played it and I was genuinely scared of the ghosts in Espiritu Estate I even had nightmares about nervous subject
I miss the sims 2 to sims 3 era, it was so fun and chaotic. Playing the psp game feels like a fever dream, idk how I even manged to beat that game but I did.
I just finished showing the first re-upload to my sibling, to show the masterpiece that this video is, just to be jumpscared to find out there's another re-upload. But good job with the video, man, it was genuinely really entertaining! And I'm lowkey honored to get a cameo when you mentioned comments from the Castaway video, it made me jump out of my seat. Never expected to see a comment of mine in your video, but not complaining! Anyways, have a good day or night, and just know that this, along with the other two Sims videos are incredible!!
'Hold the newsreader's nose firmly, waiter, or friendly milk will countermand my trousers' is a superspecific reference to a sketch by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, lmao. I believe it refers to sentences that are grammatically correct but mean nothing, an idea first discussed by Noam Chomsky.
Always been interested in this game, it’s so full of charm and the weaker points of this game can be overlooked with how stellar the writing is. Captures this era of the sims so perfectly - this and the DS game. played through this game all the way recently and im so happy to see more people talking about it! Algorithm blessed me. (also shout out to betacommand, watched his playthrough back in the day, got me hooked, i hope he’s doing well)
I had to stop this video and stand in my garden every 15 minutes just to recover from this emotional roller-coaster. Like I played a lot of Sims 3, so I know the Sims game have a lot of hidden weird/funny lore. But nothing could prepare me for this. This is the type anarchist creativity and insanity I would expect from a one-man indie game, not from one of the biggest franchises in gaming. And honestly, the meta-narrative plottwist rivals Undertale and Spec Ops The Line. How had a story this unhinged/brillant the approval of EA?
This game is just insane. The story is surprisingly meta, deep and well written as well as its contribution to the Sims lore. I really like how they incorporated the Plumbob in the game as mind controlling objects and it changed the way how I see myself playing the Sims games. Doctor Dominion's character and Hazel Dente's side story is the best example for this. The game also did a really good job with creating this really creepy atmosphere, especially Deadtree and how everyone besides you in the Estate are ghosts INCLUDING Emily Emory, your maid. I like how the game uses the PC graphics instead of the PS2 graphics. It gives off this sense of recognition and familiarity with the PC version and it adds up with the fact that this game is a direct sequel to it lore wise. It also did very well with the humour, like how the Grim Reaper offers you resurrection packages when you die like buying a telecom package, the descriptions of the gravestones and the dialogues with other Sims and meta jokes on itself, such as the 'ladder missing from swimming pool' gag. Lastly, the soundtrack is honestly one of the best in the series and in my opinion rivals Sims 1 and Sims 2 and here's a fun fact: the buy mode in the game has musical cues from the Sims 1 buy music "Mall Rat". One of my favourite PSP games I've played and one of the greatest Sims game in the series. It deserves more recognition and praise for its story alone.
What a game this is, i remember barely being able to finish this game as kid cause how weird out i was by this game(Deadtree was terrifying for 11 year old me) but still even how weird it is i truly enjoyed this game back then. I did play it again, when i was older and managed to appreciate it even more since i understand what’s the story is about(barely understand english when i was younger) and like the overall weirdness to it
dude, you didnt have to edit newlow's eyes the moment you explained him. gave me a mini heart attack~! thanks for sharing a neat vid~! top tier imo~! got me wanting to play psp sims 2 now!
calling Bella Goth a hobo that sleeps in a gasstation is crazy!! Bella Goth is everything! also i have realized that i need more story like sims games like sims 2 ds and psp.. they amazing
You are the best Sims youtuber. I hope you will enjoy your time in the Sims Medieval. Make sure to get drunk and go on a murder rampage in the game with your Sim and when the quest about the dragon comes up, make sure that you bang the Dragon instead of killing it.
Really love the video and the skits! Very reminisce of old TH-cam vids. This has been my favorite game since childhood along with sims 2 ps2. Keep up the good work! :)
Commenting again to help with the engagement! Again, thank you so much for having me on for this video with my art and edits! This game is super dear to me so it means a lot to me that I could be a part of such an incredible video. Loved all the Live action tidbits and how you kept trying to put the lore pieces together haha! This video truly was your magnum opus! Some of the PSP Sims truly only share one single braincell, especially since nobody really cares about you romancing them all (but do with other Sims) haha. Honestly with how useless some of the mind controlling Dominic did is, I wonder if he started with good intentions and slowly just went insane, starting to just have fun with torturing the other Sims. Cause like you said... Why would he need Tycho lol. I wonder if some was just the regular Player's Plumbob (like the Dente's) and others were his.
just gonna put my past comment here and boost vid! loved this video, i had this on PSP as a kid and i could never finish it because it spooked me. i think i'll emulate it sometime! Sims 2 was the best era for The Sims and i'm glad i got to experience all of it

You nailed it and I watched this video afterwards because didn't know anything on the PSP game. It was crazy, the end plot is awesome for a Sims 2 game on PSP and your narration was on top. I loved the video, keep it up and nice fckin work
Hi Starrbean, ever thought about covering the DS-Game The Urbz: Sims in the City? This amazing game could really really need some covering on youtube. To say short, its a pretty underrated sims story game. (It has to be the DS version!!)
i have watched all 3 uploads of this video but forgot to comment til now lmao woops i had so much fun when u were streaming and i had just as much fun watching this!!!! (all 3 times!!!!)
I had this video in my watch later for ages and was finally in the mood to watch it and i am very glad I did! I've played the sims 2 since I was a kid and had the ds ts2 and castaway only, so seeing this video has enlightened me! Greatly enjoyed these videos, actually laughed out loud multiple times, thank you for sharing them!
~Ohhh nooo what a shaaaame~ i guess ill just have to watch again 😇 Edit to add: Audio sounds great on my end. Watched via chromecast so it sounds good on my tv too!
the sims lore actually goes deep. I have been playing the sims 2 for the PS2/Xbox and the urbs and saw some mention of the sims 1 and sims 2 on the PC. I have the Sims 3 on the xbox 360, not sure if that has anything different but I may replay that just to see. Crazy how much game's replay value can be affected by the fact of finding new lore lmao

Do honestly think you should give the mainline Sims games a shot at some point-- Especially Sims 2. There's lore there if you're willing to read (Well... Except for 4). Hint if you do play 2 on PC at some point: The Sims 2 Reddit is happy to help people get hands on the game and get it running on modern PCs. Also the Prima guide is available on the internet archive and has a guide on which order to play the premade sims if you want to follow the story they lay out. Also while I remember: The Bella who died in Sims 3 is located on a world that's implied to be heavily in the future as there is an entire expansion about going to the future from present time. So no time travel-- just implied the aliens grabbed her from Strangetown after dumping her at some point and took her with them before abandoning her on that planet.
@@Starrbean Btw, the GBA Sims imo are the strongest of the spinoff titles. Bustin' Out and Urbz are my favorites in particular, but they all get _especially_ kooky by comparison to this game (except Pets, afaik that one's pretty tame), I don't wanna spoil it.

Good call on choosing the Sims Medieval for the next video, as the opening follows up on the Plumbob plotline. But one Sims Spinoff reco I'd make is the console version of The Sims 3: Pets. Which features mysteries. Sure, it isn't like a story mode as it's just attached to a more ordinary Sims game, but it does add to the spice of life. I hate this game strictly because i know this is how the original storyline was supposed to finish off but the Devs thankfully made this noncanon and its own universe
The next fun idea is to go for the Sims2 Stories (the various pc ones, but I think you'll like the Castaway one the most) and then the Sims2 GBA game... it's JUST as creepy as the DS game and I had such a hard time doing some episodes cause I was too scared as a kid. And if you wanna go further back into time to some more classics, check out Bustin Out in GBA and Urbz GBA, a lot of familiar faces in there as well haha! More for the lore!
Ts3 bg world is set 25 years before 1 but the other worlds are different timelines. The one with bella's grave (Lunar Lakes world) is set in the future
I hope the sims live action movie is based mostly on this game in particular because that would be mighty mind blowing

I’m definitely aiming to cover all the GBA games at some point!
If this channel keeps going maybe I really will get around to all of the Sims games!
the password being a les mis reference is sending me for some reason
My TH-cam algorithm did me good w this one 😌
i have fever dreams about this game
Ts3 bg world is set 25 years before 1 but the other worlds are different timelines. The one with bella's grave (Lunar Lakes world) is set in the future
Ohh thats even stranger, thanks for the clarification!
I am still subscribed for the raps
I'm watching a video on a game I can't believe exists. They don't make em like they used to.
