I have a Durango R/T and I don't care about the mileage because of the sound. Love these things.

im looking at buying a 2017/18 RT and first thing i will have done is the Mid-Muffler delete lol
I just got my Durango R/T a month ago (2018) and I have ZERO buyer remorse. Sure, the SRT had the bigger engine, but 30k is a lot of money for 5 more liters, and the truth is, I couldn't tell the difference between the two (other than the price tag). My 5.7 is wicked fast and sounds amazing!

how much did you get it for? People say you can get it for 50k?
I bought a new 2018. Fully loaded. All options except red seat belts. . List $76k. Bought for 69k. I got a great deal.

I personally don't like the rims but love that they're wide. Would be awesome if they added the video recording option of the Camaro for the performance pages to all the Mopars as well as heads up display and the 10sp transmission. I have a Durango (not RT or SRT) and I love it, so versatile and useful, plus I it's been reliable and good on gas (I get 24mpg Hwy, 18-20 city).

I have an R/T ,if I would’ve known I would have waited .At the time of purchase SRT Durango didn’t exist.I’m Loving My R/T though..been treating real nice .Love making noise and pop sounds .If anybody looking into buying a Rango I Highly Recommend it .

With manufacturer trends going away from sedans there’s a glimmer of hope Dodge will bring back the Ram Charger ... probably in the year next to never
I forget where I read it, but I read a few weeks ago that they're planning on bringing it back and it's going to be on the same platform as the Ram 1500
They have hinted for a long long time. Shortly after 4-door trucks became the norm, a few custom shops converted them into Ram Charger clones .... if only

ya that sounds a bit better than any ecobooooost... I still cant get over how good the Ford ecoboost engines are in the trucks but they have no sound. I really like hearing a V8 when driving a big vehicle. Guess I am old. Hell before we know it, trucks will be like a Prius if some people have their way

you can get a 09 kia Borrego v8 for 6,000 dollars. it tow 7500 pounds , and does 6 second 0-60. I have the limited. has every options including rear heated seats. it has three row seating as well. awd shift on the fly 4wd. nav, leather, electronic adjustable brake ,accelerator , and steering wheel. doesn't look as cool , but think of how much money I saved.

Biggest difference between the SRT and RT is a 100 ponies under the hood. But I personally don’t want AWD!!! I cannot believe the 5.7 only still has 370Hp, compared to the Charger or Challenger. Plus, if I had my way, I’d have. A 6 speed manual gearbox in her. Why hasn’t anyone done this mod to a Durango yet?? C’nom Chip Foose, lets do this!! I cannot stand AWD, hence the chewed up tires. I just put new she’s on my ‘14 SXT V6 (265/50R-20) which I also tow my 27’ ski boat with. Granted, it kills my mileage too, but... how often does that happen? Even still, I only paid $29k and its loaded with almost every option, as its got the Ralley and black top package. I cannot touch a new one for less than about $37k plus tax/tags-UGH Ca fees now days. Plus I just paid it off, but i love mine. Ive got 130,000 miles on her and she still rips!!
I average about 13mpg out of my SRT. But who cares when it's so fun to drive. (Admittedly my weak mpg is because of my strong right foot)

I would spec it with no 3rd row, who wants a freakin third row anyway. make the tires more aggressive and keep some of nice features get rid of the nonsense features.
For the most part it sounds more fun than Pratical. Although if person tried hard enough they could find an excuse I guess.
Pretty good review, will say that going to this from my wk2 srt I've enjoyed it more. My mpgs went up from 11 avg to 15 avg, and highway I can get roughly 25 or so if I stay around the sweet spot. Only thing I hate is the damn steering, as it tends to override at times and jerk. Giving it to the wife now so if you see a white one with gt haus exhaust and some small blonde driving erratically it's probably her lol

@@Sak-zo1ui weird I've never had lane assist one to be honest, just don't like the light on the dash. I'll try with it on though and see if maybe that is a cause, thanks

Yeah, those MPG are terrible. I guess you gotta pay if you wanna play. Sounds AWESOME tho. Looks great but I still don't like it completely.
On par for its weight. My old Navigator weighed about 5700lbs and got similar MPG numbers. It didn't have nearly the power so it wasn't as fast but I just don't think there are any magic tricks to defy the forces required to move mass.

Is an awesome SUV for speed and fast, but it’s dated back for the 90’s. The body are plain and the rear tail lights looks like lights up sunglasses.

They need to release a Durango XL or Ram Durango variant.
I had a 04 with the 5.7 I averaged 8.4 mpg I can't imagine what it would be in that.

You should race the Tahoe and the SRT Durango
I would think one equipped with the 6.2L would even pass this Durango, while the regular 5.3L wouldn't.

Nah, FCAs Chrysler-based vehicles are almost always HEAVIER and LESS NIMBLE than any similar competitors and need the "extra oomph" to compensate. I didn't say a Durango didn't had POWER, just said that (6.2L) Tahoes and (T-3.5L) Expeditions "could" be FASTER / NIMBLER.
@@syxepop youre joking right? the 6.2 gets the Tahoe to 60 in 5.8 sec. the SRT is 4.6. Tahoe is 14.2 in the quarter and the SRT is almost a full second faster at 13.3.
Dodge - Take my money!!! Too bad a 7.4 liter V8 is slated for the 2020 dodge line up. Love this though!

So I dug around a little looking at videos he made 2-3 months ago. So far he has been wrong about everything he wanted to happen to charger. I still see NO facts.

I believe JGC SRT is NO MORE, but you have the JGC TrackHawk w/the FULL-BLOWN HellCat engine....

You're right! I've read somewhere that FCA would discontinue the JGC SRT to sell the even more powerful and more expensive (like +U$20K) TrackHawk (the one with the HellCat supercharged engine), but I can still see it in the official US JGC page as being on sale (there is where I saw it was pretty much priced like the Challenger HellCat).
Yeah but the other ones are two wheel drive you can switching back and forth between 4 and 2 wheel drive you can't do that with the Dodge
Durango's started as the Dodge Ramcharger which came out in 1974, but transitioned to the Durango name in 1998. Guess he's too young to know and failed at doing any research.

Dodge offers the best sitting position in the driver seat than any other SUV. You look down on the hood you can see the street in front of you well. Unlike th3 Ford Escape or Chevy Taho or Ford Explorer...this car I use to uber I fit between 6 to 9 people easily depending on size mine has a 3 seated 2nd row and the 3rd row easily fits 2 adult or 3 to 4 kids. Good for 3xtra luggae simply put down 3rd row and you have plenty cargo space plus room for 5 passengers if jyst you and another you can put the 3rd & 2nd row down for even more room..is a really great vehicle however I reccomend just getting the V6 version that will get you 24mpg hwy easily

The Durango is not a large SUV, it's a mid sized SUV
All the Durango's have the paddle shifters and the big steering wheel
It would be cool to have something like this but it's also hard to get pass the cheap interior.

More likely FULLSIZE CROSSOVER, these are sized smaller than a FULL SIZED SUV (Tahoe / Yukon and larger...). JGC is a MIDSIZE CROSSOVER (rugged, capable, but still car-based, as its' cousin the Mercedes GLE).

I hate drive modes. they don't really do anything for performance or economy they just make the car feel different. If you put your sports car in "sport" mode; it still has the same engine, the same brakes, the same suspension, it still weighs the same, and magic elves don't change the tires. Of course, all that means that the car wont go around the track any faster. And really, for the things that drive modes change, I think most people would rather adjust themselves selectively. For example, maybe someone wants a more sensitive throttle pedal, but not a heavy steering feel.

3.73 Rear axel ratio is the reason behind the gas mileage. Others are ~3.23. SRT can dig way better compared to other, but pays for it at the pump.
My 9-7x Aero has a 4.10 and Don’t mind my 13.6 avg because I love the awd pull so much. I suspect SRT owners don’t give a shit, either.
