- Sydney, Australia is well-known for a historic neighborhood called The Rocks located in the Central Business District. It was the site of the first European settlement in Sydney. The area has been revitalized, and today, it combines history, culture, dining, and entertainment. In this video, I'll bring you on a walking tour of The Rocks during daytime and nighttime, including some of the top things to do in town. You'll discover Sydney's oldest house, the oldest pub, the tiny houses of the past, and see the view from Australia's most famous bridge.

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that, for so long, I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American, and he's actually camera-shy. That's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

Renata:Congratulations to you guys today’s for your new remarkable video from Sydney, Australia to shows these amazing places & Landmarks October of 2023❤❤❤
A Migrant, but a Sydnesider for the past 60 years, in love with Sydney, now during my 80s unable for LONG STROLLS, I THANK YOU, for such an awesome and informative video. The best I have ever enjoyed about The Rocks!! THANK YOU !!
Your journalistic talents are obvious, with your detailed research and enthusiastic presentation making your videos superior to the rest. Gordon is a dry and entertaining resource, and your hats steal the show…👍
Gordon looks so happy as long as he has a beer in his hand.😆. Hope that you enjoyed your time in Sydney
You don’t have to walk far to get a beer in Sydney 😊
Love the buildings in Sydney. Its beautiful and interesting combination of modern and old architecture
Sydney. I may be biased because it’s my hometown and I have lots of memories on those little lanes, streets and shops, but it is always the most beautiful city for me. Even after my trip to Europe with their quaint little towns, Sydney is still my number 1. There is nothing that can beat the feeling of surrealism when you walk on The Rocks during the sunset.
Lived there once & visited earlier this year for a short period. But still miss it. Beautiful city❤
It really is! You are lucky to have that experience. Thanks for watching.
@@RenataPereiraTV Thanks for covering the places I missed this time.
Beautifully edited video of a stunningly beautiful city.
Very professional presentation! Well done! ❤
❤love your videos I worked and lived across the road from Bondi beach, live in country Victoria now , I so miss Sydney while loving Victoria thank you for bringing Sydney back to me.
Renata: Welcome to Sydney, Australia after spending weeks or months shooting remarkable videos in these amazing Australian cities 2023❤❤❤I wish you guys safe journeys & good luck to you guys always in peace for more new videos to be releases in 2023❤❤❤
You two have a wonderful weekend. ❤️
You too!! Thanks for watching. Where be Walt now?
@RenataPereiraTV still in Thailand. They have a 90-day visa.
Thank you for showcasing my home city ❤ even though I’ve lived here my entire life there’s still a lot i havent seen…the rocks is absolutely fascinating and has some of the best views of the harbour. You can easily get lost in all the little alleys and passageways. Can’t wait to see Baranagaroo and Darling Harbour in a future video…Darling Square (right next to Darling harbour) is one of my favourite areas for food in sydney…its also right next to Chinatown as well (more food!) 😊
Sydney is the most beautiful city in the world by far. Great video. Thanks for sharing
Better than Vancouver????
Idk why this channel doesnt have more than a million subscribers
Thank you! Working on it!!!
Renata:I wish you guys safe journeys & good luck for your new upcoming videos this week from Sydney, Australia in great joy & peace October of 2023❤❤❤I wish you guys the BEST always in peace 2023❤❤❤
Thank you theo
Thank you Renata for doing such a wonderful job of appreciating and thoughtfully revealing the best of what Sydney has to offer. I was born here and have lived my entire 70+ years, based in this beautiful city. For a decade in the 1970's, I had a job patrolling inner Sydney parks and plazas on a motorcycle. We monitored the condition of trees, lights, fountains, and public property in Sydney's reserves and public areas. It was an almost unbelievable, best ever job, with plenty of intrigue and going's-on during the heady 'under-belly' days of Darlinghurst and Kings Cross - a place and time now unimaginable to most. It's was such a pleasure to relive & revisit all the best places you and Gordon so wisely sought out to explore, reveal and enjoy. Sadly, I visited Sydney's CBD a few months back and was shocked that, what used to be the best kept secret on earth, is now everybody's favourite destination - at least threefold the pedestrians and beach-goers than that of the 70's. Nonetheless, best wishes to a lovely couple who would be welcome in my home any day. Cheers from Sydney AU.
Wow, thank you very much! We really appreciate your support.
I think what you say about Sydney can be said about a lot of cities. Vancouver comes to mind, really built up. Your description of the 70s sound like a magical time. We really loved that Australian cities maintained there public spaces, they really make a city beautiful.
We will return to your lovely country and cities to explore more. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful video! Greetings from Argentina🇦🇷
Thank you very much! Where in Argentina?

This is an incredible break down of the rocks. I do walks during lunch and I’m always discovering more and more. There’s even a section of road made of wood that shows what it looked like pre-cars.

❤❤❤Sydney 😊…
Please also visit Hobart, Tasmania. Love your vlogs!
We would love to. Can you suggest an itinerary for Tasmania? How many days you recommend for Hobart?
@@RenataPereiraTV You really need 4-5 days in Tasmania, there are so many beautiful and unique places and huge range of freshly grown or sea fished foods to try! Within an hour of Hobart there are more historic towns and quirky little country villages, preserved convict history and different lifestyles! Hobart and Launceston have maintained all their historic charm, with many modern touches and a science, research, food, outdoors and art based culture! Also, the East and West coast environments are completely different! The nature highlights alone needs 3 days! 🤔
@@RenataPereiraTV
About 10 days at least so you can relax. Port Arthur, Bruny Island, are day trips from Hobart. Freycinet National Park/ Wineglass Bay/ Coles Bay. Cradle Mountain. Strahan and the Macquarie Harbour/Sarah Island/Gordon River cruise through the Huon pine forests on the west coast. Just a few ideas....it's all beautiful and quite different from the mainland.
Your enthusiasm makes me smile. Great video…👍
Thank you!

O Gordon é uma figura, com sua timidez ele agrada todos nós . Eu fico imaginando ele no Rio de Janeiro numa roda de samba . Ele vai pirar. Lindo video Renata . Muito obrigado.
Interestingly you linked the dates between American independence and British occupation in 1780s. I am half Dutch and half British Australian and have done a lot of research on who discovered Australia.
Her is what I have discovered through research so far;
The first Dutch map of Terra Australias is from the early 1500s. The Dutch basically controlled the East Indies (Indonesia) until the forth Anglo Dutch war in the 1780s. So although the Dutch never actually claimed Australia, they may have given it to the British after that battle.
It's very hard to find factual information and evidence on the history of Australia, however there are a few TH-cam channels that use old Dutch, Portuguese, French and British maps which contradict what we were taught about Australian history in Australian schools.
Of course the indigenous Australians were here for 60,000 years before all this happened.
I personally believe the Dutch regularly visited and maybe even occupied with Australia prior to British arrival.
The British then needed to establish a new colony so charged people for petty crimes, in my family's case it was a stolen handkerchief and a pig. They were then usually freed on liberty passes after 6 months. Yes there were hardened convicts. But in my personal opinion, they just needed people to start the new great southern colony.
Are there a lot of Totoks who went to Australia ?
Nice beuty fulll video my frend
Thank you so much 🙂

HAHA, you are so lucky! You have a great city and I know we will be back.

Рената, хорошее видео. Давайте еще. Вива, Бразилия ;)
Спасибо, сделаем! Возможно даже какой-нибудь контент из Бразилии!!!
Actually, if the British Empire only wanted to dump criminals, there were any number of areas where that could have been done, much more cheaply and easily.. They were looking to expand into the Pacific, and having a port in Australia was to be a stepping stone. Since Britain also had an over-supply of convicts, shipping some there as an early workforce was seen as a convenient way of killing multiple birds with one stone.
Interestingly, the commander of the First Fleet was one Arthur Phillip, a RN officer who had a previously fairly average career. But, unusually, he'd spent a lot of that career sailing with the Portuguese. Also, on the way to Australia, the Fleet stopped in at Rio de Janeiro, then a Portuguese possession, and many feel that Phillip's Portuguese connections were made use of here, perhaps charts or information that they needed?
❤❤❤
Thank you for watching.
Renata, wondering what happened to your Darling Harbour post.........VLOG 3?
I'm impressed that you realise that the US colonies of Virginia, Maryland and Georgia were prison colonies way before Australia. Also, I'll point out that the word "criminal" is harsh as most early arrivals were convicted of petty crimes such as stealing a loaf of bread to feed their starving children. Indeed, most of the early arrivals were little more than victims of an unfair and unjust society in England at the time. Somewhat more dangerous offenders did arrive for a few decades after this but were generally kept segregated from the rest of the early communities.
Olá Renata - Já estava sentindo a falta dos seus videos. Espero que vcs estejam bem. Um forte abraço.

Ok my teacher good new vidio to study english
Thank you. I hope you are well.
My neighbour hood married with Australia man and now there
you guys we enjoy your videos very much and you are very well educated regarding the places you visit. but as a proud australian i have to disagree with you that the european colonisers were not very fair with the first peoples of some nations...no ones history is perfect but the british at first were pretty fair to the first australians. sure some of them were horrible but a lot of them were also fair. i just had to say that.
Thank you for watching and for sharing, we appreciate!
Hlo 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hello zeeshan, thanks for watching!
An immigrants australia maybe perfect thinking.
We prefer the term CONVICTS.... not CRIMINALS.... please! Many were Irish political convicts and also petty criminals.
Thank you for sharing...we stand corrected for any future content. Thanks for watching.
