Whats up guys?
I wanted to show you real quick
something
Some complaints that people are having
with the
Nutribullet.
And
somethings I tend to
actually
overlook
and ignore
actually.
Now
if you look
inside
the nutribullet
it stains
its like
the stuff drips out
and
I'm usually on the go
so I dont always clean it
right away.
Sometimes I'm not really
thinking about it.
I make my drink
and I'm gone.
So
about once a week
or whatever
I
go back and I
clean it when
I realize
alright damn
this thing is getting
dirty.
Now
What happens is
if you haven't seen
the other video
that I have done
what happens is
These cups have a max line
capacity.
See?
What
I
and a lot of
other people
tend to do
is
fill it past
this max line.
Now
what happens
when you
do that.
All the liquid is gonna
push out
and it starts
to push
though
this little
thing.
Now
as it gets old
as the blade
gets old
I dont know
if you can see it
sorry.
I dont know
if you can se it
but
you start to get
the separation
between the blade
and the
the middle of it.
That causes
when you put too much
liquid
that pressure makes
it push though
it leaks
though the bottom.
You can see
the rust on my finger.
It starts to rust.
Some people complain
that it leaks
around the
sealing right here.
But
its actually
its coming from
this way.
And if you see the blades
there is some
discoloration
on it.
Its not rust
actually
its just like
I think if I scrubbed it
it would come off.
A lot of times
I have a habit of
just rinsing it off
and
I guess
the little
stuff just gets
stuck on it.
Like I said
it does
rust under here
and
the little things
start to
come out.
You have to push them
back in.
Nutribullet
does tend
to get loud
sometimes also
and a lot of
people are having
issues with it.
People ask me
about this.
These are actually
minor things to me.
One person just
told me that
they bought
the nutribullet
recently and it
leaked.
It burnt out the motor.
And
you know
people are having
issues with it.
Other than this
leak issue
witch is basically
like I said
because this thing gets
loose and you
overfill it.
I dont have any problems
with this thing
and
these things
I can
overlook.
I wipe it out
witch I'm about to do
I'm going to
take a paper towel
wet it slightly
and just
wipe it out.
And its not going to
have any problems.
I haven't had
any problem
with the motor.
So
these are things
to look for
if you are purchasing
the nutribullet
or of you
are thinking about purchasing
ther are some issues.
I have heard that
the company has
made the newer
versions better.
So it doesnt
have these issues.
The blade is reenforced
around the bearing
part
and
just little
minor things.
For me these
are not really
big issues
compared to
what the nutribullet
does for me.
So
you know
I'm just
bringing this to
peoples attention.
There are
certain
risk factors
with using a
nutribullet
it does have its
little drawbacks
but those
are the only ones
and
if
for me
this is not a reason
not to purchase
this
product.
So dont let that
be an excuse
not to purchase
the product
because
the bad things...
the positives
greatly outweigh
the negatives
with this.
So
I just hope this
helps anybody
who has
a nutribullet
who is thinking baout
getting a
nutribullet
You have to take
the good
with the bad
I guess but
its not that serious
at least not for me.

Used correctly, this machine works perfectly. So many people DO NOT read the instructions, and that is a MUST to do. I NEVER go beyond the MAX line when putting in liquids. It stands to reason that overfilling the container will lead to problems. Thank you for saying other positive things about this product. It is a wonderful product.
Your'e right Lily I use it myself. And I LOVE IT!
ha - yes - i maxed mine out and even pushed in more food - the motor blew. I then realised there was a max line. Duh.
Please help me it was my first time using the blender and I didn’t see the max line now I’m crying on my floor because it’s above the max line and it won’t open
Mine was below the max line and still having issues with it 🙄🙄
The nutribullet is so easy to clean, if you just keep that up, it's going to last. Don't put the blade in dishwasher, it take two seconds to rinse off after use. It's been six months of daily abuse by multiple people and it still works like new. One thing I would stress, don't leave it running for too long. (the nutribullet takes only a few seconds to blend everything.....bursts at a time) Love it!
i've had the leaking problems but i realized (at the time, not from this video) that it was due to me trying to sneak a little bit more in over the max line). my concern was that it might hurt the motor. my biggest concern is that regardless of cleaning, the NB jars stain. here's a shout to nb customer service, they replaced a jar (under warraty) when a piece of frozen avocado shot through the side. another note, regardless of the "max line" some things will "explode" and shoot out leaking. beet powder added to a smoothie is particularly volatile. just a comment, as i have adjusted. considering a move from NB Lean to NB RX. any input?
It has a max line for a reason!
True that..
@@0xDEAD-C0DE it was my first time using it and I didn’t see the max line and I just wanted to make a smoothie now the kids is stuck please help me I didn’t mean to overfill it
Quite funny reading all these comments. Some of them are complaints like 'its leaking' and you read more and it says 'yes I do overfill it BUT it shouldn't leak like that' or 'its rusty. I must admit I don't clean it every day BUT'
Seriously?! You cant complain about a product if you don't take care of it! Its like leaving a soup in the fridge for 12 months, eating it, being sick and claiming the product was at fault.
If it is your fault, or if you think it is your fault, because you didn't take proper care of it, don't complain, it just makes you look silly!
On the other hand, if you know you have taken all the steps to make sure these things didn't happen, and they did, you have every right to complain, and demand a refund for the item.
I agree
You are totally right..people don't read direcctions,do everthing wrong and then complain.
its a shame I almost didnt get one because of those types of people.
I bought mine almost a year ago. I noticed the leak but it only happens sometimes specially when I add too much water. Few time the machine stopped working, but after few minutes later it started working again. I love it.
That's like complaining to the dishes for being dirty. If you don't clean it right away or rinse it with water if you don't have to clean then what do you expect?
Blair Button I agree.
Change the title of the video to "The Downside Of Laziness"
BloodyMaori I should lol
Totally agree. It even says in the booklet to give it a wipe over after using it. It's not hard to just stick to what the instructions and warnings say like not going over the max line, I would expect people to get results like this when they clearly warn you about them! I have more problems with my old blender than with the Nutribullet.
Totally he should do. Suppose to clean it everyday! I mean once a week? I bet your bullet stinks -_'- and not suppose to over fill it. I think you should upgrade it to the Nutribullet Pro. They give a bigger cup so you don't have to fill it over the max line..
Excellent comment. I always rinse it and keep it clean . I'm not ocd. Just a rinse . That's all
Ameerun Nessa I like how you put I bet your bullet stinks not something you hear often lol
Just bought one and used it for the first time, I love it so far. Like any product that's man made, they won't last unless its used properly and taken cared of.
I use this everyday, twice a day. My mate also uses it everyday, twice a day as well. If you take literally under 1 minute to whip the blender's base, it will be nice. Cleaning it after every use helps it to stay new as well. Once you keep it clean, you can avoid these problems. LOL following the max line is a great idea as well. Hahaha. Can get cheaper blenders that do the same thing. Once you keep good care of a product, will last long. The pressure gained from fulling beyond the max point, when it blends, you can literally feel as if it will fall a part.
I just bought a Nutribullet online, and it's currently being shipped. I've watched all the reviews and complain videos posted on TH-cam. To summarize:
1. Read the manual carefully, and follow what it says.
2. Don't fill water / liquid beyond the 'max' line on the jar
3. Don't run the blades for more than 15-20 seconds at a time.
4. Clean thoroughly immediately after each use
5. Take apart the blade assembly once a week, and deep clean
6. Change the blade assembly annually. It is very reasonably priced.
7. Don't use NutriBullet for anything other than smoothies, juices and chutneys. Certainly not for dry grinding and nut-buttering.
I had the same problem and the cheapest solution was to replace the blades, I disassemble the old blade and notice that the two bearings REF (626ZZ) they have in the shaft were badly damaged in a short time. According to the television commercial says that putting fruits and vegetables into large pieces into the glass, I think this is negative, the poor cutting blades and apparently by high engine revolution is no filtration of the juice to the bearings.
The instuctions clearly state that you should NOT fill the cup above the MAX line.
Like any appliance, if you don't follow manufacturer's instructions, you can expect problems.
Your right.
RackboyzFitness You're right.
Alexandra Spargo :)
I don't overfill it and it still "leaks" though we've confirmed pretty much that it's also grease or whatever was packed in the bearings leaking out of the bottom- so that means it can also go into my drink as the seal is loosened after time. The first time it happened I was freaked- it was like a super dark brown sludge- and lots of it and it was not a cocoa smoothie at the time...I can't believe the crap I've gotten out while trying to troubleshoot and clean this thing out completely. (ran hot water several times and used paper towels to get under the rubber base that is on the underside where it leaks. Yes I've pushed the fill amount in the past and maybe that didn't help with the pressure as this guy mentioned but my mother has one that I bought from the same place at the same time (though they look like two completely different models- hers has a plastic' liner' around the inside of the base that makes it look terrible- can NOT clean up the leaks which get in between and makes it look dirty! Blade base is different too...) and she never over fills it yet she's had the exact same liquid/sludge leak out. I pretty much clean base out completely (using a toothpick etc. to get every little crevice and take out the rubber plugs to clean them as well) each and every time and I do clean the blade with soap and water with a scrubby sponge, yet I have the exact same discoloration/residue on my blades as shown in this video.(though I can get the base looking clean!)
THAT said, :-) I do LOVE this thing- I am just trying to decide if I really want to purchase another one knowing how many issues it has after about a year of use. (used daily in the first few months and now prob. 2-5 times a week- varies) The blade now is so tight that it barely can be forced to spin- this is causing the motor to sound as though it will burn out any day now. It hurts my ears to try to run it....I've been using olive oil sprayed under the blade on both sides (using a "Misto") as I know whatever I 'lube' it with will end up in my drink in some amount. That does help and has enabled me to not blow it up yet. ;-) The second blade which is a "milling" blade is great and still is without probelms though it is used far less often and in much much shorter bursts unless you are trying to make butter- cause it will do so if you do it for more than a few seconds at a time. It is awesome for making your own flours out of every imaginable nut, grain, or seed!! Even tiny little Teff grains are mostly ground by this thing! I do short little bursts to avoid heat damage to the grain/nut.(you can actually see sides steam up a little if not careful!) That is simply amazing if you know how TINY Teff grains are- they make Amaranth look huge ;-) This has been a wonderful boost for my health though...from forcing nutrient dense drinks full of raw veggies that I otherwise would not eat (lets be honest- we're not all good little rabbits!) and I can grind what I need at a time to make gluten free baked goods of all types.
Gotta admit I'm going to check out Ninja's new version...they obviously realized that the concept was a winner to all but copy it. I'm also considering the VItamix but don't know enough to yet to know if my uses would justify the cost. I don't use my juicer anymore after having the Nutribullet... I get the same benefits plus the fiber. (who really bakes right after juicing to use the pulp?! and the baggies of it in my freezer constantly ended up being tossed).
SO YES, I recommend this thing but don't expect it to last but so long- clean it and don't push it and maybe you'll get more time...can't take it apart by the way to clean or repack what we are guessing are the bearings...but it WILL get you on your way to better health!! ;-) Sorry so long- just want to give all the info as I read others info to make decisions yet never give back! PS- watch the amount of green leafy veggies you use- look into Oxalate levels and the dangers of ingesting too much for some people!!!! ( a huge concern in the medical field re: the green smoothie/juice trend over the past several years)
SO pardon me, but we're not all "morons" and did not misuse or abuse the product!!! And I do have one with the "new" metal plate- leaks worse than the older one but gets more use...but BOTH had the nasty drainage....also, figured out the little black/dark brown "bits" and powder that I'd notice in the base and coating the little rubber plugs when it didn't leak were the dried version of what had previously leaked out being spun out in dried form. YUM. (and yes, I looked at the rubber closely thinking it had not seated correctly and was the source of the dark residue/bits but it's perfectly intact- it's the same drainage (got it wet and looks the same!) & will come out if you spray hot water up at the connection and then shake it out hard- you will see it coming out from under the rubber "foot" piece. SO yes, we also cleaned things properly...people can be so rude on these comments ;-)... assume everyone are morons....though I can understand why I guess based on many people's ability to follow or even read the directions!! ;-)
If you see rust be careful because it sometimes leaks up through the cup.. Put just water in the cup and blend it for a bit and see that it changes color!
The noise is from the blade. I used to think it was the motor until I got a new blade. I hear a lot of good and bad about the vitamix but its too expensive and too big. Thanks for the insight.
This happened with my nutribullet. When the blade starts to separate and leak the nutribullet will get much louder. So if your unit is performing with more noise it probably means that your blade needs to be replaced. My unit was under warranty so the nutribullet people replaced it with just a shipping fee.
Yeah I replaced the blade and dont have the problem an more
Went through this same situation, nutribullet has a new blade assembly but, it won't work with older units, so they sent me a new motor unit as well. as far as preventing leaks, if you overfill the cup it will pressure up when it's turned on and leak at it's weakest point. through the rubber gasket, or through the blade bearing housing. to prevent rust I do not submerge the blade unit in the sink, (water + metal = rust) lift gasket out clean well, and I spray blade assembly with germ x type cleaner and soapy water then rinse lightly.
The best way to clean it is with a kitchen steamer. It liquifies all that caked on debris and you can wipe it out with some spray cleaner and a damp cloth.
Mine is close to a year old, I had to replace the blade and its running fine now. I havent beem using it as much as I used to but I am monitoring how this blade holds up.
I am a proud owner of the Nutribullet and have never had any issues such as this. Common sense is all that is required to keep it cleaned and maintained. It's been 2yrs and my machine looks practically bran new! ;)
Thats great. Im a man and I dont read directions so I have to learn the hard way lmao. I take better care of it and have had no problems since.
It should but you should make sure. There is a newer version out with a better blade but you have to be sure your getting the right one. I have a video on my page showing the difference in the two you may want to check out.
I checked it out. I have not had that same problem but did have a similar problem before I purchased a new blade. I wonder if the blade was rusting from being left in water after using it. I have been treating my new blade much better and im checking to see if this one last any longer due to better care.
I just got a new blade and im going to treat this one better than the first one and see if that helps. The blades are cheap to order so thats a good thing. Even with this problem I love this thing.
Lmao there you go you answered your own question. Due to filling it past the max fill line multiple times resulted in the blade being loosened from the pressure of the liquids. It's not a con made specifically from the product itself, but from the user unable to comprehend basic machine use.
? If you don't clean it...it'll get dirty?
i have had mine for 7 months and i never had it leak. all you gotta do is get it real tight, the only way i had mine "seep" is when i didn't tighten it had enough. and i pulse mine for seconds at at time and not have it on for a long time to kill the motor
Sounds good Derek. Thanks!
Extraction blades will need to be replaced after about 4/5 months depending on your amount of usage. If you take care of it properly and don't overfill it everytime, you will thoroughly enjoy it more. You cannot possibly follow recipes directly. I'd suggest using half of what the directions ask for, especially with whole fruits. Try half instead. Ex. Half of an apple or half of an avocado. Just cut it up good. I never put any pits in, because they increase wear too quickly.
This was really by accident that I found your video. I search for an answer online and could not find it, so I stopped paying attention to it for a long time. Now that I found your videos, I felt encouraged and I will start using it again. Thank you for sharing. And thanks for great ideas about smoothies.
You are absolutely right in saying that many people OVERFILL the NutriBullet and cause it to leak through the seal. The container has a line on it that says MAX, but I see complaints and even TH-cam reviews where the guy overfills the unit and then complains that it leaks or the motor overheats. I love my NutriBullet, and I have been using blenders/processors for decades.
I use red nail polish to make a very visual extension of the "max" line. I found that the small black line is hard to see when filled with spinach or dark greens. I clean the jar & extractor blade by rinsing with warm water and the filling the jar to max line with warm water and a few drops of dishwashing detergent. Place back in the base and run for 30 seconds. Then simply rinse. Hope this helps other users.
Yeah a lot of problems are from not following directions. Im glad they are gonna replace the blade for you.
dear Fitness RadarThank you for this very articulate video demonstration. I am an obese female suffering with horrible arthritic pain. I have just purchased a nutribullet online because you have convinced me no matter the downside the upsides are greater. I hope and pray I will get better so that I can take serious exercise without arthritic pain. Thank you.
thanks fitness radar, i just purchased the nutribullet and will be sure to take care of it, i think the part about the max line is really helpful for me as i try to get the most into the nutribullet getting the most out of it. Keep doing what you're doing, I'm hoping to see more on the nutribullet maintenance, recipes etc…. (:
Here is a question? the max line is there for a reason, two wear and tear is only natural with any appliance, if you use it with negligence well you will have problems I bought another after three years and i use it four times a day everyday. nothing went wrong, when the juice leaked i just got another one and i got a discount for second purchase.
How do you clean the inside when stuff gets stuck on it like by the motor
did it stop working because of the leaking? Hows the blender working out compared to the nutribullet?
You have just saved my life. I was so going to fill it past the line
+Tom Gems Just so you know the max line is for liquid not solids. The old bullet had leaking issues. The new ones are not so bad but you still have to be careful.
+THE FITNESS RADAR
Thank you so much. I appreciate how quickly you have replied and this is really useful information.
+THE FITNESS RADAR
Do you know anything about Vitamix?
It's too late for me. I already filled past the line. :(
+Wrestling Historian You poor thing! Let me assist! I will send out a search party, helicopters, ambulances, rangers, marshals, snipers, commandos, air force, space ships, nukes, sniffer dogs and garden gnomes
Not a downside... Don't overfill, as the instruction has in a big red box.
I treat mine like a baby, washed and dried by hand meticulously every time. The carbon steel shaft is rusting from water from washing. The water sits inside next to the shaft and is impossible to dry out so rust occurs. The looseness is because the shaft diameter is getting smaller. It is happening to me too. I never overfill, its a design flaw IMHO and I intend to get new blades from the company.
Yeah I have a new blade and have been taking care of it and I noticed recently that it is slowly starting to get loose. Its a new version of the blade and its still getting loose. No rust this time though. I wash it and lay it on its side so the extra water runs out and stores on the plastic part. They put an extra blade in the 900 series instead of fixing the problem smh
So basically if you use it incorrectly it gets damaged and leaks. Our family of three use our 'Bullet all the time, we stay at the MAX line and have yet to have a single drop leak on the motor. DON'T OVER FILL THE BULLET.
True, overfilling is the problem. I think thats why they made bigger cups with the new model so people can get more without overfilling. I haven't had the problem since I stopped overfilling it
I noticed you were using the old style blades. I had problems with that type too. The newer version is much improved. I can take the new ones apart to clean them whereas I couldn't do that with the older ones. The only thing they need to do to improve the product now would be to add a knob, like the Waring variable speed blender (YO-04245-60), that would give multiple speeds. You would then lock the container onto the base, and then turn the knob to the desired speed. Just one variable speed knob would do, not a dozen buttons to press. Add that feature to the NB Pro and you'd have a near-perfect blender.
I just got my NB today I don't plan on over filling it because I did my research looking at reviews. Thanks so much for the advice. Best of luck #teamfit
Your welcome and thank you. Enjoy!
plus when you over fill it you make the seals work harder. this is why they gave instructions. follow them for optimum performance. FYI, same thing will happen to your engine in your car if you over fill the oil, seals start to blow out and it will leak.
I clean my bullet each time..VERY WELL..but find unless you also remove the rubber ring and clean it, it WILL start to get moldy. YES in fact very moldy and you cannot clean the ring it once it has mold. I tried everything but nothing including bleach would get rid of it. I urge everyone to check this as i'm sure you will not want to be drinking anything that has been contaminated with this mold. Do the sniff test. after you have washed your blade head, have a good smell around where the ring is. You shouldn't smell anything other than maybe dishwashing liquid. If you have a slight or bad odor you need to remove that ring and see whats happening. I get my ring out with a smooth round metal nail file. You need to be careful you don't damage the ring so don't use a sharp knife that may cut the ring.
Yep, I totally agree. Today I filled the cup to the brim with ingredients but made sure the water was about a finger width below the max line and it didn't leak a single drop. But, with our busy lives I can see how people can get less attentive to this and make a mistake of overfilling.
I had the same problem but I was missing the gasket on the blades and I returned the unit and got a new one with the proper gasket. I 've had a magic bullet and it performed well. So make sure you have a gasket where the cup meets the blade unit. Dave
Yeah the older blades dont have them. The new ones all have it. Thanks
Thats crazy the only thing I can think of is if your using greens in your shake some of it is leaking into the base. Its crazy though.
That blade gets loose because it's supposed to have a white plastic bushing under the blade itself. Take a look at the other blade that came with the kit. That plastic bushing may have come off into your cup, got shredded and you drank it. Bummer. I did too. I ordered a new blade assembly through the company because the loose-ness tends to make the machine VERY loud.
Ive used mine for a year now. I did find that the older blender blades tended to leak as you pointed out but the newer one does not. They seem to have improved the blades and the seals.
Yeah it seems the newer blade is a little better
It could be rust . If the metal on the bottom looks rusty then its may be rust mixed with some of the liquid that leaks out
thank you! yes it was helpful (however, you may consider changing the title of this video as i think this one is a bit misleading..perhaps 'OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER ABOUT NUTRIBULLET' or something like that)
Thanks, Im glad the video was helpful, Best of luck.
I actually had the same problem. I approaches mine about a year-and-a-half ago when this began to occur. Eventually just stopped working on together which send me to be honest. But I chose to buy a Nutri Ninja unit on my next purchase. It is not the auto IQ or anything larger but just the manual twist and push. I find this particular product to be most energetic and pleasant to use. And also , the fact that the blades are raised up , which allows for easy use, which allows for the next person to use it if necessary. It can be used right away even when wet. There is no leakage there is no rust. There is just pure enjoyment and the product that you make within this item you can only be pleased with. Good job Nutri Ninja.
Kimberly Bedel until it breaks
Bad job Nutribullet!
Thanks for showing this, how old is your NutriBullet? I ask because I have see some reviews on Amazon that say their blades started wobbling and the unit leaking within 2 months of once a day use even if the unit was not overfilled.
I had the same leakage problem with my 1st Extractor Blade. Since I have an Extended Warranty, I called Customer Service and they replaced the top for free, but I paid about $3.95 for shipping. I was overfilling the cup too. The Representative said when the blade or rubber gasket goes bad, it needs to be replaced. That is the reason it gets louder. A bad blade causes the motor to run hard and hot. Believe it or not, the motor did quiet down when I used the replacement blade. Hope this helps.
My daughter got one for Xmas and I have been using it and I feel a lot better. I only had issues when I overfilled it..my fault.:( Follow the directions. I find it easy to clean and it works great. Too bad it cost so much overseas it is a great item and helps you get healthy.
Im glad it works well for you, keep it going :)
The only problems you are experiencing are from ignoring the guidelines and the little maintenance required but that's okay at least it still works
oh look another example of ....Never mind.. Just keep it clean like any other normal person would do and you won't have any problems with the product
If you have used this product or read the hundreds of comments on this and my other nutribullet videos you would know the problems have nothing to do with not cleaning it. With that said, I have fixed the cleaning problem a long time ago. Thank you.
I have had mine for over a year. I have 4 children and we all use it 3 times a day that's 12 times a day every day for the last year. We have had no problems with ours at all, except the blades getting dull. In that case I just use a fine, small file to re-sharpen the blades. Ours has worked flawlessly since it's purchase. It's to bad that so many have had problems with the unit, but my last comment stands many times it comes down to operator error.
RackboyzFitness there is a reason there is a max line you douche, you can't complain that it leaks if you dont follow simple instructions
Your right. I treat my NB much better now and with a new blade its running as good as new.
The blade components must be rinsed with warm soapy water immediately after each use. My Nutribullet 900W still in perfect clean condition, as I rinsed and wipe the motor gear area after each use. Must check the gear area after each blending to make sure no leaking. Never fill liquid above max line. Never blend more than 60 seconds.
Thought it was 20 to 25 seconds
Another tip. don't removed the rubber stopper inside the unit. it will burn out the motor. I did that on my first one and did not know that they were supposed to stay in. so I had to go and exchange mine. I still the love the product since it is easy to use
Yes my Bullet leaks and it is my fault. I overfill. However, I must add that the tiny lips that push down once the cup is attached have gotten stuck. I remedy with "Goo Be Gone" a hammer and some small utensil and work each up and down.
It sounds like you have the problem that I spoke about in this video. th-cam.com/video/d80rTiAkCZ8/w-d-xo.html This next video is what I did to fix it th-cam.com/video/jbE95g_9otY/w-d-xo.html
I have a video comparing the two blade, The one you have is the newer one. There are a few people that say they are having the same problem with it. I think the problem is mostly over filling it and not adding enough liquid. It puts to much stress on the blade and makes it come loose. Even with this issue I still love this product. Best of luck to you!
Thanks. It was helpful to see others have the problem. I also love the nutribullet. One other problem I have is that when I close it too tight I can't always open it. So frustrating! And even if I don't overfill it it spills if I don't close it right enough. It's hard to know if you are at max or not when I have frozen fruit that doesn't sit flat. I clean it every time, but once it spoiled so much it went under the motor in the center. How do I clean it there??? Thanks
Hey Connie, you may be closing the lid too tight. There are videos on youtube showing how to open it up to clean it but you may not want to take the thing apart ust to wipe it out. It may be too much trouble.
That rust is from the bearings. You're forcing liquids through the bearing seals, this washes out the oil in the bearings which then become dry hence it's noisy.
You are right. I changed the blade and stopped overfilling it. No more issues.
I dont think many peaple know this thanks.
We've had the same issue. Had ours about 2 months. Just took it back and exchanged for a new one. I guess it's common tho. And depending how often you use it. Everything over time wears and tears.
I had the same problem and I always filled below the max line. It is a design fault they are rubbish. Try filling the cup with fresh water and then blend the water, you will see rust floating in the cup.......Not good at all.
You must clean it as the original bullet I purchased, but I still don't have a nutribullet. You need to keep up with it not just rinse off etc as soon ad used. The original not used daily or lots a week, but lasted over 10 yrs b4 the plastic blade part crumbled. It cost too much not to. How can they expect the machine to clean itself or stay nice if not clean it after each use. Everyone should know that by now nor need to read it in the manuals which every machine or item you buy usually says or know we must do.
I just had to disassemble mine, the switch mechanism got caught on a wire on the inside and severed it somehow. I was able to twist it back together and slip a rubber sleeve over the bare wire and it works again.
Loved the smoothies and the Nutri-bullet till it burned up the motor with a broken fan. I was not impressed with the craftsmanship. Looked at your Ninja video and think that's my next juicer. Every home should have one, we NEED the nutrition. Thanks. I've lost 50 lbs and feel great!
Hey thanks man. I am getting ready to upgrade to the bullet, but my Oster has been working pretty good. I too hope the benefits outweigh the few complaints. Thanks again for the info. I am not discouraged.
The newer ones are made better than the original and if taken care of it will last with no problem. I would recommend looking into a Nutri Ninja though. It is a little better than the bullet.
THE FITNESS RADAR Thanks, just got home from Wall Mart with my new Nutra Ninja for $89.00. Thanks again for your advice.
I think the downside is the cup gets stuck on the bullet that model has a 600 watt the 900 watt is better but still may have the same issue
Wait so you fill it above the max line(AKA don't follow proper rules of use) and call that a downside if it leaks out?
No, it happens to people who take great care of it too. It simply rusts, and that’s toxic. UNEATABLE!
If your blade is loose you probably have been chopping things it wasn't meant to chop, like ice. I've had mine for years and use it very often - no problem.
I actually found that mine even if i was using it porperly and not filling more than the max line, there was actual oil leaking from the motor and I found out that this oil was going into my drink!! After I saw it did leak I filled the cup of water and than it turn the after greyish, brownish... and it seems i was not the only one when i snoop around internet. (sorry for my english im french canadian)
It seems possible that dangerous mold and fungus can slowly accumulate in those spaces NOT accessible to cleaning on this and any similar blender product?
thanks mine just arrived today, about to try it out, and now i will not cross the max line.
there was times in the morning when I would just toss it in the sink and clean it later thats why it had the stains. I take the time to clean it right away every time now and have no problems. Its a great way to get the nutrients she needs. You should try it out.
the only way a nutribullet gets this dirty is because you are not "closing the top" correctly and it's leaking, to prevent this just push the lid (the part with the blades) further.
No, this video is not helpful. If the blade is leaking liquid you may want to replace it with the new and improved ones made by Nutribullet. When the juice gets behind the wall through the activators (the white plastic things that makes contact with the motor in order for it to function) the activators tend to get stuck plus it hard to clean the gunk out behind the clear walls. So if the activators are stuck, put a few drops of hot water on them and push them down with the handle of a spoon or use a flathead screw driver, repeat until it becomes flexible. Next put warm water and dish detergent into one of the containers, then run it through the cycle as you would for making a smoothie, let it run for at least 15-20 sec. Running warm water and soap through a cycle is the way to clean your device and should help prevent you activators from getting stuck in the future. But if all fails you can safely take the blender apart and clean it. For instruction on how to do this go to: NutriBullet--How to take apart and put back together-Part1.m4v - this is a perfect and safe illustration on how to clean your Nutribullet, when all else has failed.
but new extractor blades. not that difficult. stuff wears out when you use it everyday. I purchased the 29 year warranty for $4 when I purchased online.
I agree with you that the good outweighs the bad. My Nutribullet also leaks, and it has gotten more noisy, but it still works great and liquefies everything I put in it. I also have a Vitamix, but I find the Nutribullet easier to use and clean. I have found that the Vitamix will also heat ingredients when run long enough to liquefy. The Nutribullet doesn't do that. I don't use the Nutribullet for grinding because I have other appliances for that. I prefer the Nutribullet for smooth drinks.
FYI - My NutriBulllet states to replace the extractor blade every 6 months; cost is just $20. I love my bullet.
So right on..I don't fill mine up past the max line and it still leaks. So frustrated with it! And if I'm right, you can't take it back to the store. You have to mail it to the company itself. If it didn't leak it's great, but having to constantly have a mess is the pits!
The older blades are the flaw. Once I purchased a new blade I stopped having the problem. I still love my NB
Oh that's good to know. Do you have the link to where I can buy a new blade?
Lexi4211 Go to the Nutri Bullet website. Mine was under warranty so I got the new and improved emulsifier blade for only the $2.99 shipping cost. The cost of a new blade is $9.99 plus $2.99 shipping if the warranty has expired. My old blade only lasted two months before loosening up and rusting. The new blade has a plastic washer under the blade and the blade seems stronger. Hopefully, the new one will last longer. I didn't fill pass the Max line and only ran it for 20-25 seconds when blending.
Thank you so much for the info! Will check into that.
Your'e welcome! The 800 number is posted there as well as the customer service hours. Good luck!
I agree, I have hear that even the new blades are leaking so I think for now we just have to deal with it.
i think you should take better care of it and then clean it after every use.
Thank you for your honest clip. I am from the UK and yesterday saw an infomercial for Nutribullet. I have been searching youtube for reviews and think you are being very honest in that there are some risks but then ever machine, like humans, will deteriorate if you do not look after it. No machine is going to stay 100% perfect 'as new'. What I have gathered is that too many people do not follow the guidelines and overfill.
We were told last week by Nutri-Bullet that the heads wear out (bearings) in 8-12 months. When used 1-2 times a day, the seals around the bearings wear out. Especially if you fill past "Max". We are on third blade head. I actually took off the blades and swapped them with the nut chopper blade head. I think it was a left handed thread....I cant remember now. But the blades are mounted to a shank that is threaded and screws into the rubber drive wheel on the opposite side (the rubber part the engages the motor on the power unit). Just a little tighter then snug but able to unscrew by hand......We never use the nut blade, but I didn't want to wait for 7-10 days for the new blade head. That rust and crap is going into your drinks.....I actually put plain fresh water in the cup and turned it on and I was shocked at how nasty it turned in just a second. Please don't continue to use if its leaking. just order another head. AND GET THE REPLACEMENT INSURANCE!!!!!
Nutribullet User Manual suggest the users to change the cups, fresh lids, lift-off lids and blade components every 6 months. It is easy to buy the replacement parts from Amazon or eBay. Quite cheap.
I am glad to see this video. My nutribullet is leaking too, never thought the max line instruction was so important. Also the blades are bad..But the store I bought it from its going to replace it for free...
Just bought my new bullet and was worried when I saw your video title. But I agree with you, these are minor issues. But thanks for the heads up
The leaking is a well known issue and it comes down to the keeping your stuff at or under the line. The problem I have with the NB is the wet blade bearings gave out in about a year of use, I noticed some goop leaking and then a day or two later the blade seized. I guess the goop was leaking lubricant. I statted using our old full sized blender and have come to prefer that over the NB and now we have a Vitamix. However, I am getting the wet blade replaced 'cause the wife doesn't want to use the full sized blender for her "small" needs.
Blenders dont work as well as this does and the clean up is messy. Dont knock it until you try it.
mine was leaking and I just grabbed the seals from the lids that come with the cups and switched it out and it was fun. Just needed a new rubber ring/gasket.
I have to agree with you. The blade has become loose and has the separation that you described. I think the motor is still good. So I may have to get a new blade eventually. All in all, I like the Nutribullet better than any other I have tried for smooth drinks. I can handle anything I put into it.
I have a problem with the inside wall. I've accidentally overfilled it or it leaked. Now the inside walls behind the clear plastic are showing signs of mold. I clean my NutriBullet very well after each use, but as far as I can tell, there's no way to reach behind that clear plastic. Do you or anyone else have any idea how get behind /inside there to clean it?
It's a simple matter to tighten the base gear and eliminate the wobbling shown here, if required. Just remember that the threading is reverse (turn right to loosen and left to tighten).
Thank you!
If you followed the instructions and refrained from filling it above the max line the pressure would not be so great therefore the contents would not push through... or can't you read?
most of us who make the decision to go past the fill line are willing to accept that we are doing something that is NOT recommended by the manufacturer and THUS are willing to live with the consequences, I own a Nutribullet myself and occasionally fill it past the MAX fill line and YES he is correct, doing so causes leakage but when you stay within the boundaries set forth the product works the way it is supposed to :) not that it doesn't work the way it is intended when you fill it past capacity (it still blends products about as well as my vitamix) but at least I have less cleanup and less counter space used up :) Now... if someone fills it past the fill line and genuinely complains about it as a product fail, then they loose cred in my eyes.
Honestly I have owned the Magic Bullet (original) a couple knock off variety of bullets (just for fun that I found NEW a local swap meets) and the baby bullet and magic bullet and they all have this type of "issue" so really just RTFM lol :)
I just got one and yes my blade looks like its different has reinforced bottom and a white spacer near the blade's and have never over filled......but it is the best I have had so far.
They did go back to the drawing board. They have a new metal plate on the side facing the motor now. It doesn't leak as easily or break down as easily now. It can take more punishment by morons who misused the original product. But of course people will overfill, put in things that it can't break down and expect it to perform perfectly. Well, it does much better now! MUCH better. I bought one because my old one was getting noisy after 2 years and hundreds of smoothies. I really like the fact that they took the time to improve the product. This is probably saving them money on returns and complaints. The new NutriBullet for 2014 is the best one yet. I remain a fan and a lover of this product. For less than a hundred dollars it equals or betters all others.
Thanks for the insight, I think they can still improve on it but they are moving in the right direction.
I just got mine on CLEARANCE at Wal-mart, I am pumped lol. I refused to buy it at $100 and I just got it at $50. Now that I have used it I realize that $100 wouldn't have been a waste. Wished I would have gotten it before now :)
Damn 50 bucks is great! Better late than never lol Good luck with it :)
RackboyzFitness Probably the old one without the reinforced blade. You get what you pay for. But maybe not. Check the numbers or something to find out. I just bought one this year from JCP and since it had to be ordered I assume it's new.
I have a magic bullet, has anyone experienced a brown liquid leaking from the container completely thru the motor and out on to the counter top!?!? I'm scared every time I turn it on cause I think it can be an electrical hazard :(
Andreene Yes. My nutribullet used to do it. I don't remember if it was rust mixed with overflowed juice or if it was from the motor but you may want to get another one. Depending where you purchased it you can return it or exchange. Bed bath and beyond for instance has a no hassle return policy. You can return things years later and you don't even need the receipt.

I pay for every purchase with a credit card or debit. Never had a return problem but I have very few problems.
