    Kind-of a weird test Joe, since Nutribullet states that the machine is intended to be used with the addition of a liquid, and not dry, so smoothies are its forte. And the machine's job is to pulverize and blend, so if the smoothie comes out too runny, that's down to an inappropriate selection of ingredient quantities (specifically the water in your case) and not the fault of the machine - I was surprised that you blamed it. I just upgraded to a 900 W pro after my 600 W Nutribullet died after 8 years' constant use. I can honestly say that I small nubs protruding below the screw-on rings are a total non-issue. I never noticed them until you pointed them out in your video.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Good to know the notches are really an an issue. I didn't think they would be, but was curious. For the smoothies being a little runny, I did mention at the end of the video that all you needed to do was use a little less liquid in there and it would be totally fine and a non-issue though. On the dry stuff, I agree with you. I kind of messed up there a little. I wanted to show that it can actually do that stuff too, even though it's not intended for that because frankly, it did all that stuff really great.... But I should have mentioned that it isn't intended for that kind of stuff out of the box. I meant to say that, and just straight-up forgot to. I did notice that they also have a milling blade that you can buy for it on their website for $15 that IS designed for all that dry stuff, so with that, probably an even better result. I appreciate your in, Jackem! Thanks for helping keep me in line! Lol

    • @jackem8922
      @jackem8922 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The 600 watt model included the milling blade, and a smaller cup to be used with it, as standard. Not sure why they dropped it from the Pro model.

    • @jackem8922
      @jackem8922 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chilepleasestop9118 No - the blades remain effective - they're not that sharp to start with anyway. However, over the years, the bearings in the cups tended to fail, so I replaced them (TH-cam videos show you how, if you like this sort of tinkering. If not, just replace the cups.)

    This is my second Magic bullet, and I have to admit that for the price it delivers really well th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq Considering that there are other products twice and even four times more expensive, I think that for one person this is just right. The only problem is that you have to make sure that your vegetables and ice are cut into small pieces because it won't chop and blend well. I made the mistake of putting whole baby carrots with a cup of mixed greens, and it wasn't pretty.. Also be careful not to overfill it, because it will overflow. As long as you follow the manufacturer's instructions for use, you should be happy with this purchase.

    Adding the oil to the nuts from the beginning, you make it more difficult to have a nice and smooth butter cos the nuts will stick on the surface of the cup due to the added oil. Nuts let off their own oils when blended. So first blend the nuts until paste and then add some oil if needed. Blend for a couple of seconds more and you're good to go!!

      I don't know about that. I tried that and after a few seconds everything was sticking to the bowl and I had to scrape multiple times and was getting nowhere. Adding oil to the nuts improved the sticking problem. You're not supposed to have to add oil at all, but I guess you need a more powerful blender for that to work.

    With cleaning the nutribullet, I thought that hot water wasn’t supposed to be used or can the nutribullet blend hot soup etc too? And what kind of oil do you use for the nutribullet butter? Thanks a bunch!

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I like to use avocado oil for most of my stuff, but coconut tastes really good in not butters also. For the hot liquids, you can clean it in hot, but it hot tap water which really isn't all that hot. What they mean about hot liquids it more like blending stuff that just got microwaved or is coming hot off the stove or something. The plastic isn't rated to handle that kind of heat.... The soup too, unless you let it cool a while, but that wrecks the whole point of soup

    If a blender blends well, but the smoothie is too thin, it's always on the user, because the blender did its job as it should. A properly functioning kitchen gadget is only as competent as its user. Otherwise, very good review.👍

    I tried to make cashew butter and it turned out well, but I had a big problem with it sticking to the sides of the food processor. I added a bit of oil and it helped a little bit, but I started wondering if spraying an oil on the sides of the bowl would help to keep the nut butter from sticking to the sides. Has anyone tried that?

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haven't tried that.... another thing you can try is leaving out the oil all together, and when you blend the cashews, just sort of run the machine in 2 or 3 second pulses.... That will break the nuts up slowly and keep them from heating up too much.... You might be able to just pulse your way all the way to the finished butter. Also, it works better if you are using a larger amount of nuts. That way the stuff being processed has more contents there to interact with.

    • @jjbud3124
      @jjbud3124 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JoesPhenomenal The machine works well and quickly to grind the nuts to a powder, but then they start to make little clumps and stick. I'm going to try peanuts. I heard they work better.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah.. Sticking is a real thing... The oil usually helps with that a little. I do my butters in my ninja power blender. One of the single serve cups as a built in tamper that you spin with a dial. For the most part I don't have to really ever open up the cup to scrape stuff with that on there. Works a lot better than I expected it to originally.

    any blender's true test is a kale, spinach, parsley, and quartered whole lemon smoothie. 99.99% fail miserably. i doubt this could handle that. if you want a proper smoothie, get a vitamix with those individual blending cups.

  • @Gaba-oo4qb
    @Gaba-oo4qb 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Being “runny” is dependent on the person. I think the shake looked fine and was not as you mentioned, “runny”. Having nubs are for the cup to lock in place when you start blending. If you use the handle, then just be mindful of where you put your mouth. All these are not issues with appliance but issues with personal preference and being clumsy and not watching where you are drinking from.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Gaba-oo4qb yeah.. That was a mistake on my part. I corrected what I said at the end of the video. I was comparing to a different blender and they just need differing amounts of liquids to get the same consistency. The 900 did a fine job on it. The plastic nubs was something I had to mention, not because I have a problem with it, but just in case someone might be bothered by it. Just trying to make people aware of it just in case.

      I would try it without the oil.... Just short pulse it a lot to break it down before blending... You can always mix in some oil if you need to. The but butter works in there, but Nutribullet does sell a blade assembly specifically made for that and it produces better results. I think its like 15 bucks on their website.

      My mistake on that was comparing directly to a ninja foodi power blender, since it came in right at the same price. Those have really high rotational speed, so it really gets whipped a lot thicker with the same amount of liquid. I redid that with less in there in the Nutribullet and it came out really nice. I mentioned that right at the end, but in retrospect, I should have mentioned that earlier when I was in the middle of the test... or at least edit the video in such a way that those comments were moved back. I have a Nutri bullet 900, and I've recently been emailing back-and-forth with nutribullet support because I'm interested in chopping nuts. And this is what I have been told in no uncertain terms… That the milling blade is only available for two models: "To grind dry ingredients a flat milling blade is required. However, this blade is available for the nutribullet classic and the original magic bullet. You would not be able to grind dry ingredients in your unit as it requires liquid to prevent any damage." so I did find it unusual that you've done nothing but process dry ingredients here more or less. I followed up just to be sure I understood what they were saying and they confirmed exactly what they've said here. I love the nutribullet and have owned it for many years. I do find it a bit confusing all the different models and features. I think what's happened is that it started out as a very simple product that became extremely popular and they needed to produce spin offs of it and the consistency of the naming and the description of the features haven't kept pace with the demand.

      Definitely some over saturation going on, and a bit of confusion as to which ones can do which tasks reliably. I still like it though. It's a tough little blender.

    I highly recommend on the 1000 over the 900.
    I bought the 900 new and the 1000 I got second hand 5 year old.
    Let’s start with the much more robust built of the 1000 over the 900.
    I had the 900 for almost a year and it’s start stretching and the cups pins all the time end under the whit clips doesn’t matter which cup I used. The 1000 I use now for almost a year with no issue.
    The 1000 will stop automatically after 1 minute.
    The 1000 have a suction feet that stop it from spinning when in use and the 900 feet will not.
    I recommend to use the extractor blade over the sharper cross blade it is much more quiet.
    Spent a little more money and enjoy better product longer life.
    Good work making this video 👍🏻

      @@davidwilley4524 It’s not the mixer that it’s loader it’s the type of blade that make it loader.

    Your smoothie was runny because that's how you made it. My smoothies are lovely and thick. Mine came with a different blade base for hard foods. But then, I have had mine a long time. I keep mine in a Mimi container in the pantry. Very convenient to use.

      Agreed.. I I itially made that exactly the way I do it with ninja blenders. A little less water fixed it right up. I mentioned that near the end of the video, but it would have been better to put that right in there after the blend.

    Corn starch needs to simmer for 10 minutes to remove the starch taste. Flour needs to go for 20 minutes.
    Also, you need a more course grind for the pepper. You lose less of the pepper flavor.
    My issue with these pots is that they brown the meat without breaking all the cartilaginous tissue down, so it tends to be not as tender as a slow roast in a conventional oven.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the tips! I agree with ya on the conventional oven, definitely... It's just not enough time to get it really tender... Still comes out nice if ya don't have the time. I actually did let thatsauce simmer for a while to let it cook... I just left that footage out for some reason... Shoulda been in there though. My mistake. I usually like to use my pepper shaker on stuff like that too on the coarse setting... Was too lazy to figure out what box it's in since we're moving next week though.. Man.. nothing like fresh ground pepper like that. You're totally right.

    Has anyone use this appliance for pulsing small quantities of meat or seafood to make meatballs or dumpling fillings? Have a big food processor but overkill if I just want 1/2 cup of ingredients.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't tried meat in this, but it isn't super powerful. I'd guess it might have some issues with that. It's also designed for smoothies, so there's that. You can always use a full sized blender that has one of those single serving cups that comes with it. That way you can blend in that instead of the large one, and you have a lot more power.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heya... I used the same measurements I use on all the blender tests we do for smoothies. It's 1 1/4 cups, but looking back at that video, you're right! It looks like an ocean in there. haha. The Nutribullet has a much more narrow cup than a lot of machines, so the water level looked a bit higher than on most. Also, at the end of the video we did mention that it made great smoothies and we just used less water in there and it was great. Nutribullet also makes a differen't blade you can get from their store that works better on frozen fruits (it's a little sharper), which produces an even nicer result.
