Such a beautiful update to that figure. Really hope they give us the other Transmetal 2 figures (just the ones that made it to the show) Would love to see how Transmetal 2 Dinobot would look updated. Here's hoping they also do the original Transmetals too.
I love how, even with all our advancements in figure design and modernized updates to transformation schemes, companies still decide that TM2 Megs should always end up kissing his own skidplate in his Alt-Mode, like the upgrade process somehow locked onto his butthead personality and manifested that one overriding attribute into him physically, but it's in one of the most dangerous places of his most dangerous form because he's still a legitimate threat.

Great review! This guy is one of my favorites of the year. I kinda hope we get a gen selects repaint of this guy into cryo...can't remember his name but the frost dragon varient
I’m going to be leaving him in his dragon mode if I pick him up. I’m not crazy about that face sculpt. Although, DNA Design has pre-orders for an upgrade kit that does have new head sculpts.
@Patriot Prime: TFSafari has a tail upgrade that replaces the one he comes with, with one that is much longer. so that you can get that effect you were talking about.
T-Rex Megaton will always have a close spot to my heart and be my favorite (unpopular option I know) but I seen Beast wars before I ever watched the reruns of G1, or Uncion Trilogy shows from the early 2000s(2001ish?) So he was my first time ever seeing Megatron! But I just admit. The dragon transmetal model was sick af! Looked more like a power rangers villain than a transformer tho! But still looked sick af. I'm hoping we get a sequel after rise of the beasts that focus solo on maximals and peredcons!
I passed on this one because I absolutely hated what they did to Megatron's character in the last season of Beast Wars. It had nothing to do with the design or quality of the figure, I just don't want anything to do with it. As always, great review! .... I'll probably still pick him up.

Oddly my main memory of the original T2 Megs is falling off the shelf and right on my face as I slept. Waz looking down on me that night prior too. Arse was planning it I say. 🤣🤣🤣 head hurts thinking about that. Know when get this hes not going up that high again . Hmm I wonder if did that with the crotch cause of how tight the kingdom beast Megs crotch was.always felt was gonna break the connector port. So T2 Megs can roast marshmallows on his own. Crap now thats an accessory like to see
Legacy has been a bit hit and miss, but at least the Beast Wars figures have all been hits. Tarantulas is probably the best of the modern Beast Wars Deluxes and although I don't have Inferno yet I hear he's also great, so it's nice to see Megatron surpass the standards set for him by Tarantulas and Inferno and be even greater still.
He's decent for his class but I'm disappointed they put him in the same budget class and size as Dino Megs. He should have been a Commander which would have put him in the correct size scale, filled out all the hollow gaps, engineered the backpack better, bulked up his size and arms so he doesn't look so emaciated and given him the paint deco he deserved.

Guess this is a case where I'm against the trend, great looking figure in both modes but just doesn't excite me. Good review though.
How can "beast wars" have a dragon form? dragon is a mythical creature, this is when the series totally lost me.
