- Follow along with me as I create a custom v-cowl for my friend MJ on my rigid heddle loom. From dyeing the yarn, to planning the project, weaving and the final critique, it’s a look into my studio and work processes.

WoW. Loving it.
Stunning
Thank you! 😊
I absolutely love the colors! It is beautiful
Thank you!
Beautiful result! Thanks for your weaving insights. Is the loom in this video an Ashford Knitter's Loom? Is it a 10" or 12" (or?) width?
It's a 10" Ashford Samplit. I love this little loom!
@@KariFellWeaves Thanks for that info!
Kari, do you double the end threads of your scarf? I’m thinking it won’t work for the v cowl?
No, I don't double my selvedges in any of my weaving.
Keri, how does one wear a v- cowl? I have only seen it on your mannequin, so I can't figure out what it looks like off loom and how one would wear it. Someone modeling it would be nice.
Good idea! I have also been asked how to put it on, so a short video on this is in the queue...
I notice you don't use a cross when warping. I've only just started trying out indirect warping, and find the cross a bit difficult to manage. Could you share your warping method?
I actually do have a cross. It is loosely tied and I pick the threads in order from the cross to sley through the heddle. I am working on a video right now that shows me at the warping board. The title will be something like dyeing with three new colours - avocado, terra cotta and golden pear. I have already filmed winding the warp and dyeing. I will be warping the loom tomorrow and will make a point of showing the cross and threading. Hopefully that will be helpful to you.
How many episodes and ypp for yarn
The epi is 10. Not sure what you mean by ypp. It is a 4 ply yarn (UK 4 ply) or fingering weight. Any yarn can be used at its appropriate sett.
